A Struggle of many people to make Uttarakhand a state.

Uttarakhand became a state on November 9, 2000. The establishment of Uttarakhand was achieved after a lot of hard work and sacrifice. The voice for Uttarakhand to become a state was first raised in a special session of the Indian National Congress in Srinagar, May 5-6, 1938. In 1994, after a series of events, demand gradually increased for another state eventually which took the form of a mass movement, leading to the formation of India’s 27th state by 2000.

In March 1994, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav recommended the Mandal Commission to secure 27% of government positions and places in schools and universities for socially and economically weaker classes,which was later on carried on. The Hill region OBC population was very small at 2.5% and reserving OBC seats meant that all government seats would go to the plains of Uttar Pradesh. This led to intensified protests against the nation.

In 1994, the students throughout the region participated in separate state and group movements for reservations. The Uttarakhand movement was further intensified locally by the anti-Uttarakhand statement by then-Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav. Uttarakhand leaders continued to support their call for another state until their death. State officials went on strike for three months, and the Uttarakhand movement was exacerbated by the blockade and confrontation with police. Uttarakhand activists in Mussoorie and Khatima were shot dead by police. On October 2, 1994, in Delhi, the capital of the country, a large-scale demonstration and protest was held in support of the state under the support of Samyukta Morcha. Uttarakhand activists marched to Delhi to participate in the struggle. Activists who participated in peaceful demonstrations near Ranpur Tiraha Junction in Muzaffarnagar were tortured and shot dead openly without warning. Police officers were also charged with obscene behavior and rape with female activists. Satya Pokhriyal was a leader who led all people out of misery and other Andolankari helped others and showed courage. Several people were killed and many were injured. These incidents has fueled the Uttarakhand movement. The next day, October 3, the destruction of gunfights across the region and protests over multiple deaths broke up.

On October 7, 1994, a female activists died after police brutally attacked her in Dehradun while she protested against the shooting at Rampur Tiraha and many activists attacked the police station in return. A curfew was imposed in Dehradun on October 15, and one activists was also killed on the same day. On October 27, 1994, then Indian Minister of Home Affairs Rajesh Pilot met with state activists. Meanwhile, a brutal police attack in Srinagar’s Sriyantra Tapu killed several activists while they were protesting.


On August 15, 1996, then Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda announced at the Red Fort of Delhi the forming of a new state Uttarakhand.

In 1998, the BJP-led coalition government at the centre sent the “Uttarakhand Bill” through the President of India to the Uttar Pradesh state government . The Uttar Pradesh State Assembly passed , the Uttarakhand bill with 26 amendments and sent back to the central government. On July 27, 2000, the central government submitted the 2000 Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Bill to the Parliament of India. Lok Sabha passed the bill on August 1, 2000, and Rajya Sabha passed the bill on August 10, 2000. The Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Act was approved by then President of India, K.R. Narayana on August 28, 2000 and on November 9, 2000, the new state of Uttaranchal was established as the 27th state of India, now known as Uttarakhand.

I know you must be thinking about abortion or something related to parenting thing, but, no. Don’t get yourself wrong, as we say “Don’t judge a book by its cover” the same applies here, don’t judge a blog by its title. Then why title is there, huh!

Hello fellows, don’t be so rude that I called you a fellow. I called you because you didn’t even tried to think what title is saying about. There’s a kid in every one, in every gender, in every person. Some of them just forgot about it like time forces them to forget. No! Time always take test, but, how to pass it and how to live after passing the test is always on you. You planned to forget that kid for sake of your future. So, did you got that future?? I guess not, then atleast have one thing for life time.

You are also aware of it that keep the child alive will always keep you interesting, creative and more importantly happy. And do you know why I added happy in the last, because that’s true. Happiness comes from the mysterious ways. And a child can only enjoy that other wise you may have seen an adult asking questions from where this happiness arrived.

There’s one more reason why I ask you keep that child alive, it is because I personally think that child represent your whole life. That child remains in you from starting till end of your life. No Matter how hard your life gets or how strong you become, if you couldn’t save that kid inside you. You technically failed in this life.

So, think and start saving that child inside you.

The pressure of being extraordinary and it’s affect.

3 idiot was not only an iconic movie on a very good content but it has many dialogue that hit or felt by everyone. And one of the most famous dialogue goes “Life is a race, agar tezz nhi bhago ge to koi kuchal ke aage chala jayega”. Let’s talk about that.

I want to be a very a good writer, singer, actor, or anything else. We use to say this when we were a kid, yeah! we were a kid. Because now it’s not like ” I want to be very good” it is like, I want to be the only good. And that perfectly explain,we are now grown up. There’s nothing bad in it, but, we lost that touch of goodness inside us.

No matter how good you do your work, there is someone who does better then you. Like there’s an axe for every tree. You can’t be the only one among the crowd. There will be someone better then you. And it is not like you Don’t know that, still you are not able to accept that. That’s the main problem. And you are a part of this society. What you think is what this society get build.

Becoming an extraordinary among ordinary. This is the final goal of every single one. But, you know what, you personally never dreamed of this. It is what society gives you. It is what only society praise. This is what happens when you live in a society which sucks.

Being an excellent version in your field is not wrong, but, asking every one to be that is. We all know that every human has a same ear, eyes , brain, and other body parts. Still, there are some who are born or living there live without them. Same way it is not right to ask two brain to perform in the same manner because they can’t.

Just like asking elephant to swim because a fish can. We live in a society which runs behind those things which is already done and try to improvise it every time. Like a sheep in a crowd and still hate to call themself a sheep.

If only a person get appreciated for there work without comparing from others. Then this society will improve. When there is a comparison in self rather then doing it with others. Then only this society is going to improvise. Actually this society want to be perfect society. And there can’t be any perfection if you can’t accept the flaws. Because flaws are part of you. They exist in you.

A bad workman always blames his tools.

The meaning of this proverb is—your success does not depend on what Kind of tools we have but how we use them.

A person may have all the equipments in the world but if he does not know how to use them he can never complete a job successfully. Whereas a person who can make effective use of what is available with him can make a success of any work given to him.

The same can be said of real life situations too. We must learn to hone our talents and tabs maximum benefit out of them and not blame destiny or fate when something goes wrong.He has an ego and the demand of the ego is that he should not confess his own fault and limitation which, in themselves, are responsible for his failure or loss. Similarly, if a radio machine is incapable of finding out the defect in your radio setting it right, he will postpone the issue by saying that he has not with him then the proper has to handle or test same parts of the radio.Men with a little beauty are haughty and vain, they are always trying to conceal their shortcomings from their friends or customers. On the other road, a really learned and wise man never quarrels with his tool, never puts the blame for his own failure on other factors with a view of hiding his faults and limitation. He is polite and not in the best show, if he cannot handle a job, he will lose no time in telling you that his is incapable of performing the job and that you should better hire the services of some more competent head.

The idea behind this expression is that a good workman would take full responsibility for any fault and not try to blame his equipment. Therefore, someone blaming poor work on his or her tools must not be very skilled.

In other words, a person who is unskilled cannot do skilled work even with the very best tools.

People can generally be classified into two groups, those who have talents and those who have not. A really talented person succeeds in all the work assigned to him. He is confident of doing his work. He uses his tools in the right way, even if they are not excellent. At the same time, a person without talents even if given excellent tools, fails to achieve good results. His talents are limited. He finds lame excuses for his failure. He blames his tools for the bad work he has done. He does not want to admit that he is a bad workman. He deliberately forgets the fact that his talents are limited. Even if good opportunities are provided for the less talented person he fails to exploit the chances and succeed in life. Plastic – The slow poison.

Lately plastic has taken over the world. People often believe that all of this has happened in the recent few years, but the truth is everything takes time to happen and gradually makes its impact, and the same is with plastic.

Commercial (fully synthetic) plastic was first introduced in the year 1907 when Belgian-American chemist Leo Baekeland created Bakelite, the first real synthetic, mass-produced plastic. This breakthrough made people think, that it was going to be a great positive change for the industrial years ahead. The creation which was believed to be a boon for the world now appears to be a curse. A curse that is not only harming human life but every other life form on the planet.

Though there are many movements and initiatives taken by several organizations and governments of various countries going on, the effect of plastic is now on the verge where, either in some years it’ll be irreversible or we would have completely eradicated it.

From Mount Everest to the bottom of the sea, plastics are found to be persistent polluters of many environmental niches. Whether being mistaken for food by animals, flooding low-lying areas by clogging drainage systems, or simply causing significant aesthetic blight, plastics have attracted increasing attention as a large-scale pollutant.

The latest reports from the UN show how the consumption and demand for plastic have increased over the years. From the 1950s to the 70s, only a small amount of plastic was produced, so plastic waste was relatively manageable. By the 1990s, the plastic waste generation had more than tripled in two decades, following a similar rise in plastic production. In the early 2000s, the output of plastic waste rose more in a single decade than it had in the previous 40 years. Today, about 300 million tonnes of plastic waste is produced every year. That’s nearly equivalent to the weight of the entire human population.

Around the world, one million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute, while up to 5 trillion single-use plastic bags are used worldwide every year. In total, half of all plastic produced is designed to be used only once and then thrown away.

Researchers estimate that more than 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic have been produced since the early 1950s. About 60% of that plastic has ended up in either a landfill or the natural environment.

Since the 1950s, the rate of plastic production has grown faster than that of any other material. A shift away from the production of durable plastic, and towards plastics that are meant to be thrown away after a single use has also been seen. More than 99% of plastics are produced from chemicals derived from oil, natural gas, and coal, all of which are dirty, non-renewable resources. If current trends continue, by 2050 the plastic industry could account for 20% of the world’s total oil consumption. Scientists have also claimed that if the use of plastic is not reduced, then by the year 2050 oceans would contain more plastic than fish.

Single-use plastic products are everywhere For many of us, they’ve become integral to our daily lives.

The use of plastic needs to be reduced, and the improvement of plastic waste management is now a necessity. Only 9% of all plastic waste ever produced has been recycled. About 12% has been incinerated, while the rest 79% has accumulated in landfills, dumps, or the natural environment.

The government and various organizations are doing their work by introducing various rules to regulate the use of plastic and organizing events to make people aware of the impacts plastic is making on this planet. But this is not enough, we need more to prevent our environment from going into a state, from where it’s revival won’t be possible. Each and every individual needs to take charge. It is often asked that “How can an individual make an impact globally by just reducing their consumption of plastic”, the answer is if each and every individual decides to take up their responsibility then we won’t need a bigger change, these small changes would eventually make a bigger impact than any other move can.

But the questions are, are we willing to make a change? are we ready to start working instead of just speaking? are we ready to pledge that we are going to make this world a better place to live in for our future generations, or are going to make it worse enough for them to struggle to survive? The answers to all these questions lie inside us, we just need to bring them out.

Obesity and social life.

A change in the lifestyle of youngsters had not only to change their working habits but also brought a huge change in eating habits resulting in conditions like overweight and obesity. Engaging ourselves in works related to inactivity had worsened the situation.

Eating junk and spicy food instead of a regular balanced diet had contributed in disturbing our BMI index. It is a medical problem that increases your risk of other diseases and health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain cancers.

However, the terms overweight and obese differs from each other for adults, WHO define overweight and obesity as-

  • overweight is a BMI greater than or equal to 25; and
  • obesity is a BMI greater than or equal to 30.

Body mass index (BMI) is a simple index of weight-for-height that is commonly used to classify overweight, underweight, normal, and obesity in adults. It is defined as a person’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of his height in meters.

According to the studies of WHO, In 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults aged 18 years and older were overweight. Of these over 650 million adults were obese. The worldwide prevalence of obesity nearly tripled between 1975 and 2016.

Causes of obesity?

Intake of excess sugar and carbonated drinks, eating fried and unhealthy products, and eating after being full.

Smoking and drinking frequently.

Genetic and medications.

Lack of exercise and sleep.

Social issues.

How it affects one’s social life?

Obesity not only affects a person physically but also mentally. We live in a world where social media had become a crucial part of our lives. We tend to believe in ideal body shape and size and get more prone to body shame ourselves. Obese people are more inclined to get bullied and teased they are seen as a liability on the economy as obesirty contribute towards laziness and lack of interest. This leads to distress and anxiety situations making a person more disposed towards depression. They may also face social isolation making them feel lonely and losing their confidence. Guilt, lower work achievement, and sex problems are some of the major factors affecting the quality of life.

In undeveloped countries the ability to afford food, high energy expenditure with physical labor, and cultural values favored a larger body size are believed to contribute to the observed patterns.

How to prevent obesity?

Exercise on a daily bases maybe it is yoga or cardio. Stay consistent with what you do.

Try to eat a healthy diet enriched with proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Take salad and fruits on a regular bases. Eat-in small intervals.

Quit smoking

Everything takes time but the important thing is to never stop believing in youself and never stop trying

You are special and have a purpose, so take steps to fulfill it. It is never too late to start.

Silver Linings of 2020

When we’re all swearing this year to be one of the worst years of the century, and for some, let’s say the worst year of their lives. But as we say, “Every cloud has it’s silver lining” and to some degree, it’s also real. We should think of nature as a result of this lockdown of Mother Nature ‘s healing to a great degree. Many major metropolitan cities used to be heavily polluted for a variety of reasons (certainly all the reasons are linked to homo sapiens only).

According to System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), there was a 76% decline in the NO2 level concentration, while PM 2.5 was down by 54% as opposed to the same period in 2019.During the lockdown, SAFAR monitored pollution levels in six cities—Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata. The study found that Delhi’s PM 2.5 (particulate matter lesser than 2.5 microns) reduced by 39%, Kolkata’s and Ahmedabad’s by 30%, Pune by 25% and Chennai by 11%.

Two cubs, male and female, were born to cheetah Izzy, a three-year-old mother. This feat is a milestone for both biology and zoology and comes as an indication that humans can help those at risk.Species must thrive.

Australia is no longer in the flames
The last thing to rule in the early months of 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic has eventually come to a stop. Australia is no longer on fire; the flames have been lit in New South Wales, the only state to remain on fire since early March. Its trees are now recovering, and new plant life has recently emerged from the fire-ridden landscape. While this is certainly not the end of the battle against the climate crisis, the horrors in Australia have now come to a halt.

Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch

Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out on the Nintendo Switch on March 20th, on a less important but still pleasant note. Now, fans of the popular Mario title will enjoy it on the newest Nintendo console. This game has become a worldwide phenomenon, as many see it as a great opportunity to fill their hours with self-isolation. This game is commonly regarded to be extremely relaxing — the idea is basically to go to an island and make a bunch of animal friends to perform simple tasks in return for prizes.

But apart from these commonly known facts and figures, perhaps this year has not proved that bad for students as well. I now may seem to most of us to be a complete blether and jabber, but let me tell you some bizarre things that none of us may have noticed.

Most of us realize what we are capable of doing apart from what we all used to do in our normal lives. We ‘re beginning to recover or develop new or outdated abilities. We began to talk of things that we would never have considered before. Others may start studying, some start cooking, drawing, coding, reading, and more.

I, myself, have learned a lot of things that I just don’t think I ‘d remember if I didn’t have the quarantine time period. There are a lot of skills that you can learn in this period of time, here in this blog I’m just mentioning their name and not the whole story (I ‘d definitely try to write my next blog on this one).

This list is endless, and it’s just a few of them that I’m learning as a student. So believe me they ‘re all worth knowing, and you’re going to love studying not all of them, but at least some of them you have to know.

So if we get trapped in our homes and we can’t celebrate holidays or have fun with our friends and loved ones. Guys, let me make it clear that many of us are stuck with the ones who love us the most, clearly our parents and our family. Perhaps, all of us are so stressed that we generally don’t have time for our family, so mostly because of our crazy lives, we don’t even think about it. But after so many years, all of us have our childhood days back and believe me that they won’t come back once this pandemic has passed, so enjoy those moments with them.

And as for those dear ones you haven’t met for months and it seems like ages. The quote describes this well.

There can be no distance from them who we want to be with and who wants to be with you. Without a doubt, this year has taken away a lot of things from us, but it can still give us a lot to enjoy. It tells us a lot, and let’s take that as a year to learn to try to understand the things we’ve never taken care of.

Arrest the virus of Arbitrary power


What is worrisome today is the whimsical curtailment of liberty and brazen partisanship.

In the early days of the lockdown, when COVID-19 cases began to rise, we witnessed a second virus spreading equally rapidly in the country — the virus of communalism. But there is a third virus around which is less spoken about; a virus eating into and severely corroding our democratic structure — the virus of arbitrary power. There is no better evidence of this than the denial of bail to a pregnant student-activist, arrested for creating disorder on an ‘unprecedented scale’ when all she appeared to have done was actively participate, like many others, in a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, proposed by the government.

Tyranny and slavery

This arbitrary use of power, implied by the absence or selective use of law, is deeply troublesome. More so, when exercised by a democratically elected government. Frequent arbitrariness in the political domain leads to tyranny, quite like when persistently present in the social sphere, it leads to slavery. Either way, it tramples upon basic freedoms. But what, one might ask, is the connection between arbitrariness and the loss of freedoms?

Individuals, communities or citizens cannot function freely without a stable set of expectations. By stabilising expectations, laws enable significant freedoms, even as they restrict some others. To take just one example, once it is widely known that I am legally restricted to driving only on the left, I drive with greater freedom, knowing that headlong collision is unlikely. I regulate the speed of travel and calculate the time to get from home to office. This helps me schedule my work for the day and coordinate with others who likewise make their own schedules. By jointly accomplishing our goals, we enhance our freedom. Laws enable our actions and interactions to become broadly predictable. Many of our freedoms require that the arbitrary, by which is meant ‘unpredictable, random or unexpected’ does not throw us off balance. The arbitrary blocks freedom.

However, an even more basic feature of arbitrariness, one that produces much greater harm, is to be at the mercy of the whim or fancy of someone else, especially the powerful. Return to the traffic example. Suppose that two vehicles stop at the traffic light but just beyond the zebra crossing. The policeman, embodying the entire might of the state, issues a ticket or a challan to one but not the other. Worse, instead of fining the violators, he seizes the driving licence of a careful driver, who has stopped a good metre behind the crossing, merely because he dislikes the make of his car. Surely, this arbitrary implementation of the law is grossly unjust. This shows that the minutest aspect of daily life — travelling to work — can be dependent upon the arbitrary opinion of someone else. When power is exercised arbitrarily by the state, a person is made to act not in accordance with a legitimate, general rule but at the pleasure of state officials. The most extreme example of this is political enslavement, when an entire people are colonised, subjected to the will of the colonisers, where laws, good or bad, flow from the like and dislike of colonial masters.

The Emergency and now

These examples strengthen my point about an inverse relation between arbitrary political power and freedom. In dictatorships, entire populations are subject to the whim of the supreme leader or a tiny elite. Who did not fear the midnight knock in the regimes of Hitler and Stalin? While the devastation they caused is well chronicled, smaller tyrannies abound in our world too. Even democracies contain authoritarian spaces within them where the law can be used to continuously harass opponents. Anyone who has lived through the Emergency knows that Opposition leaders were thrown in jail on the false charge of conspiring against the state and thereafter a small crack unit began to arbitrarily control the activity of anyone politically significant. Surely that experience should have sufficed to make all of us realise the supreme value of freedom from arbitrary rule. However, with the number of first information reports (FIRs) being filed at the behest of random persons, on unsubstantiated complaints and little explanation, largely uncontested by a tired, silent political Opposition, one begins to wonder if we are headed in that awful direction once again.

Upending rights

Consider the arrest of activists. Article 21 of the Constitution gives every citizen the right of basic liberty and security. No one can be deprived of liberty, held without properly following procedures prescribed by law. Article 22 requires that anyone arrested and detained must be informed of the ground for such an arrest and must be brought before a competent legal authority within a prescribed time frame. Legal scholars have rightly pointed out that the best interpretation of this Article requires that the grounds of arrest and detention must be reasonable. The grounds of preventive detention, to be used in very rare cases, must likewise assume that the suspicion of offence is well-grounded, based on available evidence, on relevant information that satisfies any objective observer, and not on mischievous allegations. But reality seems to confirm what every other Indian movie has shown about police acting on the caprice of a ruling leader, and the law being used to harass citizens. Is suspicion always supported by available facts? Is the ‘offender’ really a threat to internal security, or merely present at the scene of the ‘crime’? Whatever the facts of the case, was the offence committed by a pregnant student-activist so grave that bail could not be granted until yesterday, on her 4th attempt? If ordinary persons could smell arbitrariness here, why could not the sessions judge? Anyhow, why fill our coronavirus-infested jails with what are largely political prisoners, when other countries are releasing even non-political inmates? Minimum lock-up during lockdown should be the political slogan in our catastrophic times.

The Emergency, whose anniversary falls tomorrow, was meant to be a watershed in the life of Indian democracy, a brief, critical phase when the Indian political system could have gone either the way of authoritarian rule or mature as a democracy. By restoring faith in democracy, India appeared to have passed one of its crucial tests and firmly taken the second route. But are we on the verge of giving up the gains from that chastening experience? Has the struggle against the suspension of democracy been in vain? Have a small section of its victims now become perpetrators?

Individuals, communities or citizens cannot function freely without a stable set of expectations. By stabilising expectations, laws enable significant freedoms, even as they restrict some others. To take just one example, once it is widely known that I am legally restricted to driving only on the left, I drive with greater freedom, knowing that headlong collision is unlikely. I regulate the speed of travel and calculate the time to get from home to office. This helps me schedule my work for the day and coordinate with others who likewise make their own schedules. By jointly accomplishing our goals, we enhance our freedom. Laws enable our actions and interactions to become broadly predictable. Many of our freedoms require that the arbitrary, by which is meant ‘unpredictable, random or unexpected’ does not throw us off balance. The arbitrary blocks freedom.

However, an even more basic feature of arbitrariness, one that produces much greater harm, is to be at the mercy of the whim or fancy of someone else, especially the powerful. Return to the traffic example. Suppose that two vehicles stop at the traffic light but just beyond the zebra crossing. The policeman, embodying the entire might of the state, issues a ticket or a challan to one but not the other. Worse, instead of fining the violators, he seizes the driving licence of a careful driver, who has stopped a good metre behind the crossing, merely because he dislikes the make of his car. Surely, this arbitrary implementation of the law is grossly unjust. This shows that the minutest aspect of daily life — travelling to work — can be dependent upon the arbitrary opinion of someone else. When power is exercised arbitrarily by the state, a person is made to act not in accordance with a legitimate, general rule but at the pleasure of state officials. The most extreme example of this is political enslavement, when an entire people are colonised, subjected to the will of the colonisers, where laws, good or bad, flow from the like and dislike of colonial masters.

The Emergency and now

These examples strengthen my point about an inverse relation between arbitrary political power and freedom. In dictatorships, entire populations are subject to the whim of the supreme leader or a tiny elite. Who did not fear the midnight knock in the regimes of Hitler and Stalin? While the devastation they caused is well chronicled, smaller tyrannies abound in our world too. Even democracies contain authoritarian spaces within them where the law can be used to continuously harass opponents. Anyone who has lived through the Emergency knows that Opposition leaders were thrown in jail on the false charge of conspiring against the state and thereafter a small crack unit began to arbitrarily control the activity of anyone politically significant. Surely that experience should have sufficed to make all of us realise the supreme value of freedom from arbitrary rule. However, with the number of first information reports (FIRs) being filed at the behest of random persons, on unsubstantiated complaints and little explanation, largely uncontested by a tired, silent political Opposition, one begins to wonder if we are headed in that awful direction once again.

Upending rights

Consider the arrest of activists. Article 21 of the Constitution gives every citizen the right of basic liberty and security. No one can be deprived of liberty, held without properly following procedures prescribed by law. Article 22 requires that anyone arrested and detained must be informed of the ground for such an arrest and must be brought before a competent legal authority within a prescribed time frame. Legal scholars have rightly pointed out that the best interpretation of this Article requires that the grounds of arrest and detention must be reasonable. The grounds of preventive detention, to be used in very rare cases, must likewise assume that the suspicion of offence is well-grounded, based on available evidence, on relevant information that satisfies any objective observer, and not on mischievous allegations. But reality seems to confirm what every other Indian movie has shown about police acting on the caprice of a ruling leader, and the law being used to harass citizens. Is suspicion always supported by available facts? Is the ‘offender’ really a threat to internal security, or merely present at the scene of the ‘crime’? Whatever the facts of the case, was the offence committed by a pregnant student-activist so grave that bail could not be granted until yesterday, on her 4th attempt? If ordinary persons could smell arbitrariness here, why could not the sessions judge? Anyhow, why fill our coronavirus-infested jails with what are largely political prisoners, when other countries are releasing even non-political inmates? Minimum lock-up during lockdown should be the political slogan in our catastrophic times.

The Emergency, whose anniversary falls tomorrow, was meant to be a watershed in the life of Indian democracy, a brief, critical phase when the Indian political system could have gone either the way of authoritarian rule or mature as a democracy. By restoring faith in democracy, India appeared to have passed one of its crucial tests and firmly taken the second route. But are we on the verge of giving up the gains from that chastening experience? Has the struggle against the suspension of democracy been in vain? Have a small section of its victims now become perpetrators?

It’s all good until you are Breathing.

The meaning of “LIFE” is incomplete without worries. We try really hard to get out of a situation where we don’t feel comfortable at all. The more we try, the more anxious we appear. This does not mean, you should not try, but what you should be more concerned about is the consequences. Every human on the globe is somehow worried about some of the other aspects. Worries may depend from person to person and of course the financial condition. People from below the poverty line are starving, while some people are worried about what dish they will get for dinner. Some are giving pain to themselves by cutting wrists, while some don’t even have hands. Some are attempting to suicide just due to stress, whereas some eagerly want to survive but are hospitalized or coping with the illness. Some were relieved after passing in semesters exams while a girl lost her scholarship. It’s necessary to admit and analyze the worries. The point is everything is smooth until you are living. Everyone will notice your existence, once you stop existing. There ain’t any massive topic more than your life. We can actually train our brains to think slightly differently. Taking stress, being worried, will only result in forehead layers and it won’t affect the root or the cause of the trouble.

Being Practical and Sensible!

While traveling on a local delayed train, the passengers usually come up with a discussion speaking about the time and arrival of the different trains or making perceptions about the actual delay. We just assume things, make perception. Ya, it’s true what else you could have done sitting inside, what is the result of such discussion. If we have the will to improve then why don’t we do something productive and contribute? The point is at some point I think it’s necessary to be more logical.

Psychological tricks.

  • Developing a realistic understanding of control- Analyze the situation whether it can be controlled or not. This means what’s within your control and what’s not. If you think it’s controllable then make sure you believe in it too.
  • Schedule duration for worry- People usually visit therapy to avoid worrying. But they want it done to be real quick. Issues like this don’t have a pill or some magic tricks that will let this go right away. 

This may sound funny but it actually helps. We can not schedule time like just 15 mins to worry throughout the whole day, but we can train our brain. Make sure the scheduled time isn’t before going to bed otherwise you won’t get a nap thinking about the worries.

  • Becoming mentally stable- There are many factors that we can not control like how someone should behave, how someone should feel for you, and much more. That’s the bitter truth. Being mentally strong and reaching greater peaks is a characteristic of a healthy mind. When you end bothering about things you can’t control, you’ll have more energy and vitality to assign to the things you do have management over.

A person’s death caused so many of us to become observant about the facts related to him. Where from he started his career, where did he land, about his possessions, about his family, about his relationships, about his bucket list, about his travels, about the dreams he fulfilled, how good he was as a person, about the rejections he faced, about his abandonment, about the way he was humiliated or boycotted, his interviews and what not?

Okay so imagine, you being exceptionally wonderful in your academics, cracked the engineering entrance holding a single digit rank, you get into one of the reputed colleges of your country, you are about to get your degree and you suddenly are struck by the thought of dropping engineering and following your passion although you are not sure about how successful you will be in it or will you even be able to get into that stream where you will be attacked by Nepotism. Tough decision, ain’t it? which requires alot of courage and understanding. You need to convince yourself and most importantly your family that you will surely reach heights and will not give them any chance to point out a finger at your decision. And then imagine, your family not being that good financially but you still took that decision.
You did theatres, you danced behind those famous star kids, you got a big break through a   TV series, you made a debut through a movie, you fairly did well, you gave some hits, you rejected some movies because you wanted to do a movie of your choice, you where never called to parties, you where denied the acknowledgement by your other fellow stars, you were not awarded for the movies which made crores on boxoffice, then your where boycotted not because of your skills but because of the choices you made, the movies you signed with the directors where taken away from you, lockdown hits, you are alone at your house thinking that no one tried to see the potential you got, no one tried to figure out the hardships you went through to reach where you are and people denying that they don’t recognise you. Today people are claiming that these humiliations and rejections made him fall into depression, killed his mental health, made him emotionally weak and forced him to commit a suicide?

You seriously think so? I wrote this long paragraph so that we can analyse where we are going wrong. Rejections and humiliations are a part of life and I agree that it shatters some part of you but it will never make you step into your coffin. What actually harms you is no one being around you to discuss about your problems, what breaks you is the decision that you made. You remorse about it, you are surrounded by the thoughts of what you would have been if you continued with your academics, you see yourself in dark, you get those negative feelings of you never getting a chance for any other movie because you have no godfather, people will stand against you, no one will watch your movies and so your career is finished, you failed. You let down your family, you let down your mother who was watching you from above, you could not meet their expectations, you will be bullied for your decisions because you could not become a STAR and so you finally choose to become a ⭐. Not the rejections but the repentance brings you to a situation where you just don’t have answers for those questions in your mind,   even nobody else bought you the answers and so you just want to end up thinking, you don’t want to face the cruelty prevailing outside and you want yourself out of this trauma and put a full stop to your pain.

Acceptance and dignity is what every human being craves for. Sushant Singh Rajput was not a special case. So, if his sudden demise still does not changes you, your opinions, your mindset and your choices, then that day is not far away when few among we audiences will certainly take the same step. Start respecting you near ones decision, start appreciating their  efforts, don’t humiliate them for their mistakes, give them positivity, serve them optimism, talk to them, make sure they never feel low. Stay connected because boycotting the star kids is incomplete till you start appreciating the work of the talented ones. Make sure that the journalists realise how pathetically they had put the camera on that numbed person’s face who is yet to digest his son’s loss, who is still trying to figure out where he went wrong and who is still regretting that he could have been there for his son patting his back.

We can’t have him back but we can make sure that no one else has to use ‘.’ punctuation ever in their life.

Who are you?

You weren’t what you thought you were. You are not who you think you are. You will not going to be what you have thought you would be. It’s just a thought that would remain as a thought. Try to pose a question to yourself ‘Who are you’, ‘Why did you came to this world’, ‘what should you do before you no longer exist’.

Try to think for a while. Everything has a reason. You also have to do something with your life. There is a reason for your existence. Don’t try to leave this world without completing it. Don’t try to become what you think you could become. You will become what you have to become but not what you think you could become. Accept what you have become because its intended that way. Try to take everything in a positive way and move on. You can’t change what you can’t change. Try to be in change rather trying to change the change. Experience the change. Try to become what you could. If you became what you thought you would become then definitely that is not you became what you thought to be. It is coincidence of life. Life wanted to see you what it thought to be and that had matched with your thought of becoming.

Life is a game which makes us play the same way that it thought to be played. We are just the players who can’t olay the way we want to because our options are limited. The game is played in the way that it had to be played. We think that we can play the game the way we want to play and will be thinking the same until the end. We think that we can change the way the match is to be played but we can’t. But we never stop trying. This is the way the game is played. The life makes us believe that we could change the way the game is played and we try to do what we think that we could do but we never knew the game plan of the life is also same. They built up the hope within us and make a fake promise and make us try the way that had to be done. We didn’t do what we had to. Life made us do what it had to.

Don’t believe yourself blindly. The only thing that matters is hardwork. There is no shortcut to success. Don’t believe in smart work. The real smartness is believing in working hard rather than fooling yourself being smart. Don’t try to remember the things that had to be remembered because the things appear to be remembered because they made it look like the things that should be remembered. Similarly don’t try to look at the things the way they seemed to appear. If you want to be who you would be then definitely don’t try to be what you thought to be. Try to look the things in a different manner because it’s the only way to make the things appear normal. The normal appears to be normal only when the normal isn’t normal. The only way to do it is seeing normal to be abnormal.

You are here not for something that you thought. You might be here for the things that you thought you had to do. There is a right time for everything. You will get to know about your doing before you ought to do. You don’t know who you are but you will do what you had to. Your existence has a reason and the things that you had to do will be done before your realise your existence.

‘Not all men’ vicious – Pseudo Feminism

If you pick up a dictionary, the definition you’ll find for the word ‘feminism’. In simple terms, there shouldn’t be any injustice met out to either sex. They should be treated equally. But, off late, a new type of feminism is developing which is rightly called as pseudo feminism. Pseudo feminists hold a strong resolve to correct all the injustices done to women, mostly by lashing out at men and demeaning them. What they forget is the basic essence of feminism movement: equality. Another form of pseudo feminism, according to me, is the feminism of convenience. The biggest example being: men paying for dates. If we’re as equal as women proclaim to be, why can’t a restaurant bill be split between the two? The reason is simple-men are too egoistic to let a woman pay, and for a few women it miraculously becomes a man’s job to pay for the date. Where, I ask these feminists, does the feminism vanish then?

Feminism is now a muddied term. Difficult to say what it means today. We often don’t realise it, but pseudo feminism is all around us, hiding behind feminism in clandestine. We’re the women shouting for equal rights everywhere, but don’t waste a single minute asking a guy sitting on a Ladies Reserved seat to vacate it. Why do we need reservations in general coaches? Since we’re able bodied, strong, grown-up women of strength, can’t we stand in a general coach? Men doing 9-5 jobs, burning their hours toiling hard to earn, are as tired as we are. It is just a very preposterous notion. Like it’s correctly said, two wrongs don’t make a right.

Although they are in the minority, it’s a crystal clear truth there are men who too are subjected to sexual crimes. The numbers of cases reported to the police are on the lower side, because most of the men don’t report such crime for the fear of being ridiculed at, not being believed and instead facing the charges themselves. Men are mostly kidnapped and abducted for illegal sexual intercourse, forced marriages, prostitution, etc. The number of such victims is really low but it’s a fact we cannot ignore. When we are talking of rising violence against women, we shouldn’t neglect the fact that somewhere out there are men also being subjected to same brutalities.

Board results are a few months away, but a boy has passed with flying colors by refusing to be part of a plan to rape a girl, hatched by the girl herself, who was pretending to be a boy. The boy passed but, many say, feminism failed. They have been saying that for years now. They are not too off the mark though. While it may not have failed, it sure has taken a huge hit.

Fake accounts, false allegations and fraudulent charges have harmed men and their reputations. They are also building a case against women’s right to stay in the fight for justice.
Part of the problem is the fact that the odds are heavily stacked against women. But another part of the problem is the way women used social media to fight this battle.

Each true story helps build credibility. Each false story is turned into a weapon against the fight for gender justice. The girl, who faked herself as a boy, is not part of the Bois Locker Room chats, but the story is now all about this one girl who faked her identity.

So what should women do?

I will answer with what they should not.

One, do not shoot and scoot. Don’t get into it if you cannot stay in it. Weigh in before you jump in. This is for the long haul. There is a lot of mudslinging that happens. You can’t escape the splashes.

Two, do not use fake accounts to bring down men. It’s easy to prove. The consequences are for everyone – the man, the movement and also you. Take care of You. Take care of the fight that is for us to stand equal to men with no biases in workplaces, no casual sexism, no acid attacks, no rapes and no honor killings.

If true feminism was followed, then we would treat all the victims equally. Victims would cease to be women or men, but just victims of abuse. But sadly, that is not the case. Pseudo feminism shouts out loudly that men can’t be raped, men can’t be tormented, and men claiming to have been put under such atrocities are lying cheats. It’s most likely that I would be branded ‘anti-feminist’ by pseudo feminists all around, but I don’t mind. I don’t mind because I know how to stand up for my fellow sisters when they actually need it.

When a woman is put on fire, when she is raped, is brutalized, is stripped naked on the streets, forced to quit her studies to marry a man three times her senior in age, when she is blamed if she is raped, or teased, when a woman is beaten repeatedly for refusing to pressurize her parents into paying dowry, when she is considered inferior to her male counterparts, that is when I need to give voice to my anger and lash out at the people responsible for it. If I am a true feminist, I will do the same if it were a man being stoned on the streets, being raped, being accused of a fake rape, being doubted over just because he is a man. As Gloria Steinem rightly said, a feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men.

Not all men do it, but all women suffer through it.

This is serious. Take it seriously.

Bulimia (boo-LEE-me-uh) nervosa, commonly called bulimia, is a serious, potentially life-threatening eating disorder. People with bulimia may secretly binge — eating large amounts of food with a loss of control over the eating — and then purge, trying to get rid of the extra calories in an unhealthy way.

To get rid of the gained weight this people follow things like self-induce vomiting or misuse laxatives, weight-loss supplements, diuretics or enemas after bingeing.

Or you may follow other unhealthy measures such as fasting, strict dieting or excessive exercise.

Causes

The exact cause of bulimia is unknown. Many factors could play a role in the development of eating disorders, including genetics, biology, emotional health, societal expectations and other issues.

Symptoms

The major symptoms of this disorder are:

  • Being preoccupied with your body shape and weight
  • Living in fear of gaining weight
  • Repeated episodes of eating abnormally large amounts of food in one sitting
  • Feeling a loss of control during bingeing — like you can’t stop eating or can’t control what you eat
  • Forcing yourself to vomit or exercising too much to keep from gaining weight after bingeing
  • Using laxatives, diuretics or enemas after eating when they’re not needed

If you have any bulimia symptoms, seek medical help as soon as possible. If left untreated, bulimia can severely impact your health.

Some symptoms you can notice in a bulimia affected person are:

  • Constantly worrying or complaining about being fat
  • Having a distorted, excessively negative body image

  • Not wanting to eat in public or in front of others

Complications

Bulimia may cause numerous serious and even life-threatening complications. Possible complications include:

  • Negative self-esteem and problems with relationships and social functioning
  • Dehydration, which can lead to major medical problems, such as kidney failure
  • Heart problems, such as an irregular heartbeat or heart failure
  • Severe tooth decay and gum disease
  • Absent or irregular periods in females
  • Digestive problems
  • Anxiety, depression, personality disorders or bipolar disorder
  • Misuse of alcohol or drugs
  • Self-injury, suicidal thoughts or suicide

Prevention methods

Although there’s no sure way to prevent bulimia, you can steer someone toward healthier behavior or professional treatment before the situation worsens. Here’s how you can help:

  • Foster and reinforce a healthy body image in your children, no matter what their size or shape. Help them build confidence in ways other than their appearance.
  • Have regular, enjoyable family meals.
  • Avoid talking about weight at home. Focus instead on having a healthy lifestyle.
  • Discourage dieting, especially when it involves unhealthy weight-control behaviors, such as fasting, using weight-loss supplements or laxatives, or self-induced vomiting.
  • Talk with your primary care provider. He or she may be in a good position to identify early indicators of an eating disorder and help prevent its development.
  • If you notice a relative or friend who seems to have food issues that could lead to or indicate an eating disorder, consider supportively talking to the person about these issues and ask how you can help.
