Covid-19 impact on education, health, business sectors.

Covid-19 has effected all sectors like education, business, health care and daily wage workers In this blog, we are going to discuss the impacts on education, health care, business and daily wage workers. Due to the covid-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 IMPACT ON EDUCATION

The covid-19 has impacted all countries all over the world. It has majorly impacted education the most. Due to the out spread of the covid-19 government decided to shut down the schools, which was a big decision. Due to this all teachers and students shifted to online education.

Since all schools have been shut down, all schools shifted to online mode of education. Students and teacher find it hard because it was a new environment. Now, teachers have teach there students in online also, students have to submit there assignment and projects online. Teachers found very hard to teach in online because they has to teach students using online gadgets. Students have to scan there assignments and convert it to a PDF then they have to submit there assignments. In India, many students didn’t attend online classes because they don’t have the access to internet. In an online survey, up to 50 percent of the students in India don’t have the access to internet. In all online classes, only 40 percent of the students used attend a class. Due to covid-19 all exams were conducted in online mode. Teachers has to evaluate answer sheets in online using some gadgets. Due to lack of resources like phone, laptop and internet students cannot write online exams, submit assignments. Some schools didn’t conduct online classes for there students.

COVID-19 IMPACT ON BUSINESS

Because of national wide lock down all companies were shut down. All there business and profits were collapsed. All small business companies were collapsed due Covid-19 pandemic. Only few companies could sustain but there was huge loss for them. Only IT companies survived in this covid pandemic. There was huge loss for all companies in India. Due to the shut down of many companies, many people lost there job, creating a financial crisis for many families. The share values of many companies dropped. According to a survey, nearly 60 percent of businesses were fully closed. Many people started doing work from home.

COVID-19 IMPACT ON DAILY WAGE WORKERS

Daily wage worker are the most effected people in the covid pandemic. They have to work everyday to eat. They are paid very low wage. They even didn’t get the minimum wage. Each and single rupee is important for them to survive. Due to national wide lock down, all constructions were closed making no job for them. Even though government helped them, but it was not enough. They have no shelter, no people were giving them shelter due to the wide spreading of covid-19. They are sleeping on streets and roads. There was no food for them. Many workers died due to hunger.

COVID-19 IMPACT ON HEALTH CARE SECTORS

There was also lot of impact on health care sector. There were many patients in every hospital. Daily thousand’s of people are dying due to covid-19. Doctors were working day and night to save patient’s life. Doctors are risking there life to treat a covid patient. There were lack of doctors in hospitals. Government hospitals are full of patients. World’s youngest serial killer

Serial killer, what do you think of when you hear this word. What is a Serial Killer?

Serial Killer is a person who has killed at least three people and there are a lot of cases of serial killing that you may have heard of. But have you ever thought about the youngest serial killer in the world.

Yes, A child who is around the age of 8-10 years old may have killed someone. Could there be anyone like that who can kill at such  a young age? If you are interested in true crimes then you might have heard of this killer.

This is Amarjeet Sada, A boy who was accused of killing three children .

Amarjeet Sada was born in 1998 in Begusarai district of Bihar. The family later moved to village named Mushahari village. The financial condition of Amarjeet’s Family were not very good due to a large number of family members and very low income. The reason behind family moving to Mushahari village was having better  employment opportunity in the village but nothing much changed.

On a day in the year 2007 one of the villager’s 6 month old baby girl ,named Khushboo went missing from the house. Upon looking  for the baby when they did not found the baby girl, one of the ember of Sada family came forward telling that he might know about the baby and who has taken her.

After this the police was called and the baby was reported missing.  The member of Sada family told police that he knows who has taken the baby and he took the police to Amarjeet Sada who was playing with other childern of the village.

Police officers were still not sure that a child that young can kill anyone but when they asked him about the baby girl he did agreed to knowing about her. Police were still not sure if the child is telling the truth or not but upon further investigating Amarjeet told them that he knew where the baby girl is and what had happened to her cause he himself has killed her.

All of this was still something that police cannot just trust as it was coming from a child but then he took them to the place where he has hidden the body of 6 month old Khushboo. On the edge of village he had hidden the dead body in a shallow grave and had covered it dust and leaves.

He told police that he took the child from the house when no one was around and then tried to strangle her but when he did not get much of a reaction from her he took a stone from the ground and continued hitting her until she was dead.

After this Amarjeet was taken to the police station and according to the police officers present there the child had no idea way he was there and had no remorse for his actions. when asked why he killed khushboo he didn’t answered and just smiled at the police officer. He was so carefree just smiling and swinging  his legs from the chair.

It is also said that prior to khushboo’s murder he has also committed two more murders of a 6 years old cousins and 8 months old his own baby sister IN BETWEEN 2006-2007. By the time he was 10 year old he has committed three murders in total.

The details regarding previous two murders are available but there are possibilities that the murders took place in the same way as of khushboo’s, which means that he killed the 6 years old and 8 month old with the stone by hitting them on their head over and over again.

Amarjeet  was taken under custody and was assessed by a Patna based Psychoanalyst, Shamshad Hussain, who said that the boy  Prima Facie appears to be a sadist who derives pleasure from inflicting injuries on others. According to experts such cases need immediate medical attention by addressing the chemical imbalance in patient’s brain. These things can lead to an anti social behavior in an individual.

Amarjeet Sada is about 22 years old now and is now living a new life under a new identity. No one knows where he is or what he does all that we can hope for is that staying at the remand home he had received the treatment he needed and can live as a normal person.

Due to Amarjeet being of a young age, he cannot be sentenced to death or prison under Indian Law so Amarjeet was sent remand house near Munger in Bihar for 3 years and be imprisoned until he turns 18 years old. The problem with the whole case was that the Juvenile Justice Act states that the central and state government must be guided by Principle of Right to Privacy and Confidentiality of the child, which was totally ignored by the authorities. The name and the pictures of the boy were released by the media houses without any legal actions. ( THE CASE TOOK PLACE BEFORE THE AMMENDMENT IN THE LAW)

The conspiracy behind the case

The conspiracy behind the case states that Amarjeet didn’t actually killed the three children but someone else from the village or from his own family and the child just accepted cause he was told to do so. Many people believe that the family member who told police that Amarjeet was the one who killed the children but this has never been proved.

So, it was all about the world’s youngest serial killer. What do you think about this case and about the fact that the person who committed three murders at the age of 10 is now free and no one knows anything about him. Is it possible for a 8 year old to kill or to overcome killing after growing up so that he can live as a normal person, and who do you think was the real killer. Please share your thoughts with us.

Thankyou for reading.

Importance of internship

internship sound daunting, don’t they?

It may be your first real job, the pay is low, the hours long, and you are at the bottom of whichever career ladder you seek to climb.

But—

Though these points are true in most cases, there are many benefits of internships, as well. In fact, taking that internship now may just help you skip a few rungs on your way up that career ladder in the future.

Application of education and career exploration.

Internships are a great way to apply the knowledge from the classroom to real world experience. Learning is one thing, but taking those skills into the workforce and applying them is a great way to explore different career paths and specializations that suit individual interests.

Actual Work Experience

When you’re in college or a fresh grad, your resume probably looks as if it was printed in invisible ink—there’s not much on there, right?

The number one reason for taking an internship is for gaining actual work experience.

Sure, you may have worked as a barista or SAT tutor part-time, and you can definitely add those items to your resume. However, if your dream is to be a web developer at Facebook or practice environmental law to help fighting climate change, those high school jobs or college gigs are nothing more than filler on your job resume or cover letter.

On the other hand, internships are where you get to obtain experience in the field you’ll pursue on your career path. It’s a job, and likely the first one on your resume and cover letter that’ll make a future hiring manager sit up and take notice.

Gain experience and increase marketability

Having an internship gives you work experience in the career field you want to pursue. Not only does this give individuals an edge over other candidates when applying for jobs, it also prepares them for what to expect in their field and increases confidence in their work.

A Paycheck

For most intern programs that don’t offer college credits, and even for some that do, a regular paycheck is one of the most desired benefits of internships.

While interns’ paychecks are usually considered peanuts when compared to the “real” employees at the company, were you to compare, it’s still money in the bank. Rather than bartending to help you pay for college expenses (unless that’s where your heart lies), a paid internship in your chosen field will put some cash in your wallet while earning invaluable industry experience—a win-win, right?

Professionalism

Internships can provide students with the soft skills needed in the workplace and in leadership positions. In a  (2018), 57% of people rated soft skills as being more important than technical skills. Skills, such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork can all be learned through an internship and utilized beyond that experience.

Build your resume

Most organizations and jobs that you apply to following graduation want employees to have some sort of professional experience, even for entry level job. In the event that you are a finalist for a position and haven’t had an internship experience but the other finalist has, you may lose out on a job opportunity, so make sure you at least have one internship on your resume before leaving college to give you a leg up on the competition.

CASE ANALYSIS-NAVTEJ SINGH JOHAR V. UNION OF INDIA

Introduction

India has acquired a place among the 28 countries of Asia to legalize homosexuality and to recognize LGBT rights. The judgment passed in Navtej Singh Johar v. Union of India has changed the life of many in the country. Prior to this judgment, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Community didn’t have such rights as Homosexuality was a punishable offence under sec-377 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Facts of the case

The central issue of the case was the constitutional validity of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Section 377) insofar as it applied to the consensual sexual conduct of adults of the same sex in private. Section 377 was titled ‘Unnatural Offences’ and stated that “Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to a fine.”

The Petitioner in the present case, Navtej Singh Johar, a dancer who identified as part of the LGBT community, filed a Writ Petition in the Supreme Court in 2016 seeking recognition of the right to sexuality, right to sexual autonomy and right to choice of a sexual partner to be part of the right to life guaranteed by Art. 21 of the Constitution of India (Constitution). Furthermore, he sought a declaration that Section 377 was unconstitutional. The Petitioner also argued that Section 377 was violative of Art. 14 of the Constitution (Right to Equality Before the Law) because it was vague in the sense that it did not define “carnal intercourse against the order of nature”. [p.25, para 26] There was no intelligible differentia or reasonable classification between natural and unnatural consensual sex. Among other things, the Petitioner further argued that (i) Section 377 was violative of Art. 15 of the Constitution (Protection from Discrimination) since it discriminated on the basis of the sex of a person’s sexual partner, (ii) Section 377 had a “chilling effect” on Article 19 (Freedom of Expression) since it denied the right to express one’s sexual identity through speech and choice of romantic/sexual partner, and (iii) Section 377 violated the right to privacy as it subjected LGBT people to the fear that they would be humiliated or shunned because of “a certain choice or manner of living.” [p. 22, para. 21]

The Respondent in the case was the Union of India. Along with the Petitioner and Respondent, certain non-governmental organizations, religious bodies and other representative bodies also filed applications to intervene in the case.

The Union of India submitted that it left the question of the constitutional validity of Section 377 (as it applied to consenting adults of the same sex) to the “wisdom of the Court”. [p. 270, para. 8] Some interveners argued against the Petitioner, submitting that the right to privacy was not unbridled, that such acts were derogatory to the “constitutional concept of dignity” [p. 32, para. 39], that such acts would increase the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in society, and that declaring Section 377 unconstitutional would be detrimental to the institution of marriage and that it may violate Art. 25 of the Constitution (Freedom of Conscience and Propagation of Religion).

Conclusion

So now homosexuality has been decriminalized but the reaction of society and different organisations is still a challenge for the LGBT community. Though there are organisations such as All India Muslim Personal Law Board and the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind who expressed their disappointment towards the verdict given by the Apex Court on section-377. There also exist organisations and parties who are satisfied with the given verdict, namely, Amnesty International, RSS, CPI(M) and UN. According to the surveys conducted by various LGBT activists in different parts of the country, life is much better and simple for the LGBT group. Every society needs time to accept any change. The time is not so far when the society will accept the LGBT community and their rights.

Malala Day-12th July

Through education, we can fight terrorism,
not through guns, not through weapons.” -Malala Yousafzai

On 12th July, 2013, Malala day was declare in the honor of the young activist Malala Yousafzai by United Nations (UN), which is also her birthday. On 12th July a sixteen-year-old girl delivered declamatory speech at the United Nations headquarters on the need for gender equality in education, engaged in promotion of women’s education. Malala Day is commemorated to honour women and children’s rights around the world.

Who is Malala Yousafzai?

Malala was born on 12th july,1997, in Mangora Swat district in North-West Pakistan into a Sunni Muslim family. She born and raised in a country where only boys were allowed an education and Taliban dominated the law. But she had her father and family on her side. Her father is also an activist who believed that the lack of education was the root of all problems in Pakistan. She studied in public school which was funded by his father. Her father always encouraged her to fight against wrong and pursue politics.

The Taliban took over the city in which she lived and banned girls for attending schools in 2007 but Malala refused to renounce her right to an education. Her father noticed her passion to fight for her and others against the Taliban’s oppressive campaign. He took to Peshawar to speak to local press club and at the age of 11 she gave her first speech at Peshawar, where she asked “How dare Taliban take away my basic right to education?”. Malala started to write a blog about life under Taliban rule under pseudonym of “Gul Mkai” in 2009 and also expressed her desire to go to school for the BBC. However she was revealed in December of the year. But with growing platform, malala continued to speak out about her right and the right of all women to education. All these her actions resulted in her nomination for the International Children’s peace prize in 2011 and same year she was awarded Pakistani’s National Youth Peace Prize.

The Taliban attempted to silence her with violence but Malala demonstrated fierce bravery by standing up to the Taliban. Because she knew that if she joined everyone with silence, nothing would change. Malala and her family came to know that the Taliban had issued a death threat against her because of her activism. Her family initially felt that they will not harm a child.

A ruthless attempt to silence her

On 9th October, 2012, Malala was riding a bus to return home with her friends, a masken gunman boarded the bus and demanded to know which girl is Malala and as her friends fearfully turned to look at her, he fired three shots. One bullet hit her in the left side of her head and the bullet travelled down her neck then she collapsed and the gunman made his escape. The shooting left Malala in critical condition so she was airlifted to a military hospital in Peshawar. Despite the bullet was removed she was far from stable. She was in an induced coma. Considering her critical condition offer to treat Malala, were poured from around the world, and she was transferred to Germany and then United Kingdom for further treatment.

She fights back again

In January 2013, she was finally released from hospital. After the shooting her life was very different, she had two choices i.e, retreat to safe or continue to fight. And she choose to fight for human rights. “Malala, you have already faced death. This is your second life. Don’t be afraid — if you are afraid, you can’t move forward”, she told herself.

The murder attempt inflamed worldwide outrage and protest across Pakistan. For the first time in her country a Right-to-Eduaction bill was passed and she gained global support to promote her cause. And on her 16th birthday, 12 July, 2013 she went to new York an delivered a speech. where she urged the world to challenge extremism with education. In the year 2014 she was nominated and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and became the youngest person ever to win the Nobel Prize. She was also chosen as the ‘Woman of the Year 201 3’ by Glamour Magazine and was in the time’s list of “100 Most Influential People in the World” the same year.

Since then, she has continued her activism with renewed courage. With over 40 honorary awards to her name, she has become a messenger of peace and a leading spokeperson for the girls’ right to education. Through her own non-profit Malala Fund, the devoted activist has funded education projects in six countries and keeps raising her voice to empower girls and become agents of change in their communities.

At a very young age she understood the importance of change and take actions to make change for good, for herself and for others like her. She was fearless and she always stood against terrorism and she said, “With guns you can kill terrorists, with education you can kill terrorism.” Her voice has inspired millions and brought education to many. She is a super hero to many girls and women. She proved that if you fight for right nothing could stop you. She also wrote an autobiography, “I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by the Taliban.”

Tropical cyclones

Tropical cyclones are intense circular storms that originate over the warm tropical oceans with more than 119 kilometres per hour speed and heavy rains. Mainly, the greatest damage to life and property caused not from the wind but from other secondary events including storm surges, flooding, landslides and tornadoes. Tropical cyclones are among the foremost destructive weather phenomena and also known as typhoons or hurricanes. They include a number of different hazards that can individually cause significant impacts on life and property, such as storm surge, flooding, extreme winds, tornadoes and lighting.

Tropical cyclones are known by various names in different parts of the world. In the North Atlantic ocean and the eastern North Pacific they are called hurricanes, and in the western North Pacific around the Japan, and China the storms are referred to as typhoons. In the western South Pacific and Indian ocean they are variously referred to as severe tropical cyclones, tropical cyclones, or simply cyclones. All these different names refer to the same type of storm. The tropical cyclone is formed when a transfer of water vapour and heat from the warm ocean to the overlying air occurred primarily by evaporation from the surface of the sea. As we know that warm, moist air rises, it expands and cools, quickly and become saturated and released latent heat due to the condensation of water vapour. By this process, the column of air in the core of the developing disturbance is warmed and moistened.  The temperature difference is formed between the warm, rising air and the cooler environment that causes air to become buoyant and enhance its upward movement. If the surface of the sea is too cool then there will not be enough heat available and the rate of evaporation will be low to provide fuel to the tropical cyclone. Even the supply of energy will also be cut off due to warm surface water layer is not enough deep. It happens because the tropical system modifies the underlying ocean. The sea surface becomes cool due to the falling of the rain from the deep convective clouds and the strong winds in the centre if the storm will further create turbulence. If this resulting mixing brings cool water from the below the surface layer to the surface, the fuel supply for the tropical system will be removed.

A tropical cyclone that remains over the ocean and moves into higher latitudes will change its structure and become extra tropical as it encounters cooler water. Each year the impacts of tropical cyclones and other weather, climate and water extremes around the Earth give rise to multiple casualties and significant damage to property and infrastructure, with adverse economic consequences for communities that can persist for many years.

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA

What is the first thing that strikes your mind when you read this?

Its the starting of the PREAMBLE of INDIA.

How much do we know about the Preamble of our Country?

  • The date of adoption of the preamble is mentioned i.e. November 26, 1949.

Words in bold – The key words

  • We, the people of India: It indicates the ultimate sovereignty of the people of India. Sovereignty means the independent authority of the State, not being subject to the control of any other State or external power.

INSOMNIA

Insomnia, also known as sleeplessness, is a common sleep disorder that can make it hard for the person to fall asleep, hard to stay asleep or cause to wake up too early and not be able to get back to sleep. Insomnia is typically followed by daytime sleepiness, low energy, irritability and a depressed mood. It may result in an increased risk of motor vehicle collisions, as well as problems focusing and learning. How much sleep is enough varies from person to person, but most adults need seven to eight hours a night. Insomnia can occur independently or as a result of some another problem. Conditions that can result in insomnia include psychological stress, chronic pain, heart failure, hyperthyroidism, heart burn, menopause, certain medications and drugs such as caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. Other risk factors include working night shifts and sleep apnea.

SYMPTOMS:-

Insomnia symptoms may include:-

  • difficulty falling asleep at night.
  • waking up during the night.
  • waking up too early.
  • not feeling well-rested after a night’s sleep.
  • daytime tiredness or sleepiness.
  • irritability, depression or anxiety.
  • difficulty paying attention, focusing on tasks or remembering.
  • ongoing worries about sleep.

CAUSES:-

Insomnia may be the primary problem or it may be associated with other conditions. Chronic Insomnia is usually a result of stress, life events or habits that disrupt sleep. Treating the underlying cause can resolve the insomnia, but sometimes it can last for years. Chronic Insomnia may also be associated with medical conditions or the use of certain drugs. Common causes of chronic insomnia include:-

  1. Stress- concerns about work, school, health, finances, family can keep the mind active and occupied every time, making it difficult to sleep.
  2. Travel or work schedule- the circadian rhythms of our body act as an internal clock, guiding such things as the sleep-wake cycle, metabolism and body temperature. Disrupting the body’s circadian rhythms can lead to insomnia.
  3. poor sleep habits- include an irregular bedtime schedule, naps, stimulating activities before bed, an uncomfortable sleep environment, watching smart phones or other screens.
  4. eating too much late in the evening- may cause the person to feel physically uncomfortable while lying down. Many people also experience heartburn, a backflow of acid and food from the stomach into the esophagus after eating, which may keep them awake.

Additional causes of Insomnia include:-

  1. Mental health disorders- anxiety disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder may also be the reason for disruption during sleep. Awakening too early can be a sign of depression.
  2. Medications- many prescription drugs can interfere with sleep such as certain antidepressants.
  3. Medical conditions- such as chronic pain, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) etc.
  4. sleep related disorders.
  5. caffeine, nicotine and alcohol.

PREVENTION:-

Good sleep habits can help prevent insomnia and promote sound sleep:-

  • keep the bedtime and wake time consistent from day to day.
  • staying active- regular activities help to promote a good sleep.
  • check the medications to see if they may contribute to insomnia.
  • avoid or limit naps.
  • avoid or limit caffeine and alcohols.
  • keep yourself calm and relaxed when going to sleep.

Jordan’s are a must for a sneaker head

Air Jordan is an American brand of basketball shoes, athletic, casual, and style clothing produced by Nike. It was Founded in Chicago, the Air Jordan was created for Hall of Fame basketball player and six-time NBA Finals MVP Michael Jordan during his time with the Chicago Bulls. The original Air Jordan sneakers were produced exclusively for Michael Jordan in late 1984. The Air jordan sneakers were made available to public on April 1st 1985. The shoes were designed for Nike by Peter Moore, Tinker Hatfield, and Bruce Kilgore.

History

Coming from North Carolina university, Michael Jordan was an 3rd overall pick in the first round of the NBA draft of 1984. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls. At the time Michael jordan entered the NBA and before the basketball sneaker game was boring. The players were allowed to wear only sneakers of “white” colour. The shoe was given a small astheitc touch such as a logo, extra tread or support. In 1972, the world witnessed the introduction of Nike blazer, a basketball shoe made for the portland trial blazers. These sneakers were made famous by George the iceman Gervin. The Nike blazer was advanced both in branding and also in technology.

In 1984, a young basketball prodigy entered the NBA, with the performance of Michael Jordan in his rookie year it was understood that he had a great future ahead of him. Nike noticed his talent and prospect and took a unique risk and decided to sign a deal with Michael Jordan to produce his own line of basketball shoes. Micheal jordan always had worn “ADIDAS” till that point of time, but then he got carried away with NIKE executives and their desire to sign a contract with him. The original Air Jordan 1’s were exclusively produced for Micheal Jordan in 1984, the first jordan’s had a different colour-way in contrast to the shoes that existed before the introduction of Jordan’s. The shoes were in flamboyant colour’s of black and red, the original shoes were banned by the NBA because the shoes were full coloured. The NBA felt that the “white shoes” convention was being violated.

When these shoes were made available to the public for sale, they instantly sold out, 50,000 pairs were instantly sold out. It was a game changer for NIKE and also a game changer in the field of sneakers, NIKE made 150 million out of sales with the release of that shoe.

Why they need a place in your sneaker collection?

The ostentatious history of these shoes makes it a must on your sneaker collection. The brand brings pride in your sneaker game, no matter what you buy, once you have jordan’s on your feet they gonna dominate all the other shoes in your collection. The sneakers available in the jordan line are multifarious. They indeed produce the most comfortable and the most eye catching sneakers.

Cost factor – all the sneakers of jordan, they are pretty costly.A question arises, whether these shoes are worth the money? well, To summarize: yes — Jordans are definitely worth it. Even the handful of more mass-produced pairs offer up similar leathers; and if you pick up a Triple White Jordan 1 Mid or a Bred Jordan Zoom 92, then you’ll be able to secure an everyday pair you can easily wear for a solid amount of time.
