Google And Jio Unveil Budget Phone “Built For India”

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries Ltd. unveiled the much-awaited JioPhone Next co-developed with Alphabet Inc.’s Google, a handset designed to target India’s hundreds of millions of first-time smartphone users.
“An ultra-affordable 4G smartphone is essential,” Mr Ambani told shareholders at Reliance’s annual general meeting on Thursday, outlining the capabilities of the device that will run a re-engineered version of the Android operating system. Alphabet Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai joined remotely to say that the JioPhone was “built for India” and would deliver translation features, a voice assistant and a great camera.

Neither company leader disclosed a price for the handset, which will debut in the market on September 10, ahead of the country’s peak shopping and gifting season. Both indicated plans to achieve a breakthrough price.

Jio is India’s leading telecom operator with over 423 million users of voice and data services. The new 4G-capable device will try to entice users of basic phones, those “trapped in the 2G era,” in Mr Ambani’s words, to make the transition to more advanced hardware. For Google, it marks another effort toward making Android friendlier to more frugal devices and thus accessible to a wider audience of potential users of its services.

Google Cloud technologies will form the basis for Jio’s upcoming 5G wireless solutions as well as serving the internal needs of online services such as Reliance Retail and JioMart, Mr Ambani said.

Engineers from the two companies worked for more than nine months to co-develop the JioNext hardware specifications in sync with a modified version of Android that would maintain a high-end experience without recourse to expensive components. The launch comes nearly a year after Google agreed to buy a $4.5 billion stake in Jio Platforms Ltd., the digital arm of Reliance Industries.

Global tech leaders like Google and Facebook Inc. have jumped on the Reliance bandwagon as they look for ways to grab a slice of the Indian market where an estimated 300 million first-time smartphone users are expected to start accessing the internet by 2025, according to the Internet and Mobile Association of India.

Asia’s richest man, pursuing his own large-scale project of turning an oil-and-petrochemicals giant into a homegrown tech leader, presented the new device even as the plans to sell hundreds of millions of the Google-powered smartphone faced supply chain headwinds.

Standing in the way of the Google-Jio alliance will be China’s fast-rising coterie of leading smartphone makers. Xiaomi Corp., Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus have already established their brands, credentials and some manufacturing facilities in India, with their domestic approach of high specs at low prices resonating well with the Indian consumer.

Case study of women entrepreneurs who converted a business worth 80 rupees to 1600 crore rupees

This is the case study of a group of 7 women who converted 80 rupees into a 1600 crore rupees of business empire. The women belong to none other than “Shree Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Pappad ” group. This group expanded to 67 branches and as of now it employees more than 42000 people .So let’s get started ……

The business started 62 years ago back in 1950s when there were not a lot of people who could afford the luxury of being educated .The situation was difficult for women but this group of 7 women converted this difficulty into opportunity.

The group first started giving the lijjat Pappad to local stores and they were given the first capital of 80 rupees by a social worker.Due to the deliciousness of the pappads, other local stores also started buying the pappads from these group of womens. The goal of the group was not to make money ,but was to empower the women and provide the source of livelihood to the women.

The group used the concept of collective ownership. So regardless of which religion or caste you belonged to ,u could always get a small part/ownership in the company and hence collectively share the profits and losses amongst themselves.Even “Starbucks” uses the concept of collective ownership. It helps to keep the company employees motivated and encourages them to work hard as if one of them is not performing well and one of them faces a loss, then everybody will be at the loss.

The pappads which they made were cost effective, had quality production and was suitable for the homemakers. They used to prepare the pappads at their own houses to avoid the expenditure initially.

The most important reason behind the success of this group was that they always sticked to their mission and visions .Even a company like apple started failing when the company started moving away from their missions and visions. In the last 62 years, the group has never deviated from their missions and visions and have always followed the mission of “Sarvodhya” which literally means progress for all .Today we live in such a world that even billion dollar companies don’t think twice before asking their employees to leave the company and thus putting the lives of the employees as well as their families at risk .But this group has always stuck to their core values of inclusive progress for all and has from so many years not removed any of its employees from the service whether they suffered profits k losses. The group also makes sure that the children of their employees get proper education regardless of their age, caste, religion, sex, creed or color.

Despite the fact that this group was a group formed from uneducated womens, ,had a really small capital to start with ,,they stuck to their core values and is truely a motivating example for all of us .

Thank you!!

How to be a good friend

Being a good friend isn’t always easy, but taking the time to nurture a lasting friendship is worth every ounce of effort. Good friendships provide strength, happiness, and meaning in ways that social media or striving for popularity cannot. All true friendships are built on mutual trust and support, so whether you’re looking to make new, quality friendships or improve your existing ones, there are things you can do to be a good friend to others.
Some of the reason why we aren’t collectively so good at friendship is that we don’t have a clear idea of what a really good friend might be like. Holding a good friend isn’t always easy, but taking the time to nurture a constant friendship is worth every ounce of effort. some times Don’t wait for people to be friendly.
Show them how Good friendships provide strength, happiness, and meaning in ways that social media or striving for popularity cannot. Sometimes our actions and the words that escape our mouths stop going through a filter. All true friendships are built on mutual trust and support, so whether you’re looking to make new, quality friendships or improve your existing ones, there are things you can do to be a good friend to others.
1.We need meaningful relationships with other people. Not everyone should be a close friend, but it is integral to our happiness that we show people who we really are, allow ourselves to get to know them in return, and then give each other small or big tasks. Remind through what we care about.
2.Be honest. Keep your promises and do what you are saying. be reliable. Nobody wants to befriend someone who lies. And lies are always a way of coming to light. Also, friends will tell each other the truth, no matter how difficult it is.
3.Be reliable. Being trustworthy is one of the most important aspects of being a good friend. Your friend will need you to support, especially during difficult times. No one wants to befriend someone who is not really interested in them. It is difficult to trust a person who does not behave in a consistent and reliable manner.
4.Apologize when you have made a mistake. If you want your friends to believe in you, you cannot act as if you are innocent. If you know you made a mistake, own it instead of denying it.
5.Keep their secrets. Prove yourself a reliable person who will protect your secrets with your life. A good way to prove you are trustworthy is to share some of your secrets with your friends.
6.Encourage your friend. Everyone needs encouragement. Find specific ways to encourage your friend. Even in the depths of their struggles, show them what makes you look special about them and are willing to take them when they are depressed or feel that life is pressuring them from all sides.
7.Always put in your best efforts. When they ask for your opinion or help with something that has meaning. This means that they understand the value you think. If someone writes an essay that helps you proofread or revise it, go the extra mile. Bust out a red pen and start marking it as crazy. Show them that you are investing the way you are. This means that when it comes to your friends, half-baked things never happen.
8.Stay in touch. Life moves forward and everyone has their own thing. Sure, it may be easier for you to pick up from where you left off, but it is easier to lose contact altogether. It tries to maintain a good friendship, especially when the physical distance is too much. It is a relationship that takes both sides to work.
9.Learn to forgive. If you want your friendship to last, you should be able to forgive your friend and move on. If you keep a complaint and let your bitterness and resentment grow, you will not be able to move forward. Accept that no man is perfect and if your friend sincerely apologizes and if they have not done anything terrible, you should pursue it
10.Accept your friend who they are. To make your friendship a success, you should not try to change your friend or your friend to see the world from your perspective. Celebrate what makes your friend (and you) unique! If you are conservative and your friend is liberal, then accept instead of trying to argue about it all the time.
11.Be happy for them. We all get caught up in our lives and forget to appreciate it. Sure, we know we care, but if you don’t show it, it’s hard for the other person to know you. It is easy to tell when someone is dishonest. “Wow, I’m so happy for you,” with a non-carious face, not very confident. Invest in your successes and show in your facial expressions that you are really happy.
■A good friend likes us in ways we simply cannot like ourselves. Generally, we are alive to our own shortcomings. It is more obvious from our point of view than what is disappointing or attractive to us. Disappointing or attractive because we need a friend. We are responsible for being very friendly to ourselves, we think that being a true friend is
■Should be with whom we spend a lot of time, but in fact, the ideal other becomes a part of us, we see them internally as they smile the way they pause or enthusiastically they make our brain Continue even when we are not in touch for a while or when they are far away a good friend is always with us.

The unheard cry of manual scavengers

Democracy is not merely a form of Government…It is essentially an attitude of respect and reverence towards fellowmen.”

The above words were uttered by an impeccable leader, who stood against colonisation bravely, Leader, ‘B.R Ambedkar’ Which is perfectly suitable for a cruel system of manual scavenging which still engages in a democratic country like India.

Manual scavenging is an inhuman act of making lower caste people clean drainages, public and private toilets and open drains which are contained with human excretion. As brutal as it sounds, this practice has been engaging since a very long period of time in numerous parts of south Asia, mainly in India.

The fact that this kind of malpractice is only said to be done by lower caste people who are termed as so-called, ‘untouchables’ is completely devastating. Lower caste people are designated as colonised and leveled at the very bottom of an hierarchical scale created by upper caste groups, for lower caste groups to do odd jobs like manual scavenging or cleaning human waste.

This designation of lower caste people by higher caste groups, causes preconceived notions among individuals that they are ‘unclean’ and creates extensive bias perpetually.

The first initiative to restrict manual scavenging in India, was taken in 1993 by the Indian government in order to forbid employment of manual scavengers and construction of dry latrines. In fact ever since India’s independence in 1947, legislative assembly and government reinforced policies to end the practice of manual scavenging and therefore rationalisation of sanitising and prohibition of engaging any individual to practise manual scavenging was enforced to restrain disposal Human feces.

Although numerous enforcement of acts against manual scavenging was initiated, due to lack of implementation of laws and lack of awareness among people, they remained manual scavengers. However, a survey reports that several women faced threats when they refrained from cleaning toilets in the households they served in order to gain for their families. As compensation for leaving, they were said to be evicted and lose access to the land and resources they own. It’s claimed that some women were threatened with violence when they turned down on manual scavenging.

Currently, a new amendment reinforced in 2021 adding to the 1993 act and 2013 act as a further step by demanding proper mechanisation and legal basis for punishment, if an individual forces a person to practise manual scavenging. Hoping for a vast improvement and change in deprivation of lower caste people performing jobs like manual scavenging at least after this new amendment brought by the Indian government against any kind of malpractice.

Few recommendations and suggestions to restrain manual scavenging

  • Strict laws to prevent people from practising such inhumane acts should be implemented.
  • Severe actions against members  threatening and intimidating people for refraining themselves from manual scavenging should be taken immediately.
  • Enforce amendments against free government officials who themselves hire people as manual scavengers.

No human is superior to anyone and human is inferior to anyone. In my opinion, I believe every human deserves reverence and basic human rights to live peacefully. Nobody deserves to clean another human’s excreta and get treated in the utmost submissive state. The number of consequences caused by being in contact with human feces frequently is inevitable and creates numerous issues and diseases which are cruel. Deprivation of lower caste people by higher caste people is still engaging in many parts of South Asia for a long time.

Anticipating a good democratic nation without zero discrimination and provision of equal rights to every individual.

equity not manhating

Feminism is just another word for equality. As we all know feminism is being criticized on favoring women over men. It means mass empowerment. It’s  men being aware of the need for women empowerment. All sexes being treated the same under the same roof. Being independent irrespective of whatever you are. No matter what sex, race, religion, caste, creed, status anyone is they all have the same right to enjoy the facilities provided. Who says feminism is just women empowerment? It is the collective empowerment of the people.  It’s the word that stands proudly against inequality and injustice. It is the key to freedom and individuality.

“Feminism is the radical notion that women are human beings.”

 Cheris Kramarae

Speaking about my country, it’s far below in feministic thoughts. As I have already mentioned, most people thinks it as something against man. This is just because of the misconception prolonging on the very word. There was one incident where a famous television show anchor said that she supports equality but not feminism. How pathetic isn’t it? Its high time human beings define the word perfectly. Women are still below in many areas. Decisions in women’s lives are still made by men either husband, father or their own sons. The complexity of the statement kills itself. And to my surprise there are a large percentage of women those nurture themselves as well their children to stay under men in all aspects of life excluding sacrifice. At the same time I shouldn’t be neglecting the fact that seeds of changes are sprouting in the desert.

anti sexist movement
Anti-sexist movement spreading throughout the world

Furthermore, I have seen people opposing feminism as disapproval of the idea of women and men are the same. Women and men aren’t the same and the very prospect of feminism isn’t sameness, rather it is equality. Sameness means look alike but equality isn’t look alikeness its equal say and being treated the same. Empowerment isn’t women-only term as life isn’t for copulation only. As a conclusion, I would like to quote that development isn’t possible without feminism.

COVID’s 3RD WAVE AND VACCINATION DRIVE

With over 3 crore covid cases, India reached the 2nd position after United States in total number of cases. Out of these total cases, over 2.9 crore people have recovered reporting a total of 3.9 lakh deaths. India, now, is getting on track after a strong hit from Covid’s second wave. The cases that were ranging above 4 lakhs everyday has now been reduced to over 50k a day. The states have eased their lockdown restrictions while in many states night curfews are still into force. More or less, normal lives are getting restored in the country and people are again moving freely onto the roads.

With this, comes the another risk of Covid’s third wave. The third wave that is said to be more dangerous than the past two waves of covid is suspected to hit the country within 6 to 8 weeks due to the negligence of the people. The government has already started the preparations for it, whether it be setting up the Oxygen plants or issuing notices to the hospitals to increase the bed allotments for covid infected patients. The government has set it’s focus on another tool for eliminating covid-19 danger and i.e., the Vaccination programs across the country.

With over 24 crore people recieving the 1st shot and 5 crore people fully vaccinated, India’s vaccination drive is on. The government has taken the responsibility to vaccinate all and is moving forward in this step. India has now pick up the pace with vaccination. 24×7 vaccination centres had been setup across various cities and towns.
The highest jabs a day was recorded on 21st June when 84 lakh people got vaccinated followed by 53 lakh, a day after and 63.2 lakhs on 23rd of this month in the age group of 18 and above.

The department of environment, forest and climate change (EFCC) on Monday launched a special call centre where one can complain against any mischiefs from people on violation of the forest and environmental rules and regulations and transfer the case to the officials incharge. Along with it, one can also seek information on Wildlife conservation, bio-diversity, ecological protection and agro forestry.

The number that had been issued to contact the call center is 0612-2226911. It will be functional for all working days from 9:30 a.m to 5 p.m. As per the response of the public, the government may extend its timing to 24×7 in coming weeks or months as per the officials.

We are sure that this will prove to be a good decision in bringing people close to the nature, moreover people will start developing a better understanding for the Animals, forest and also towards the conservation of Wildlife and forestry. This will only bring peace and harmony among the citizens. Let us all welcome such decisions and know our forest a little better.
