Online teaching

As humans we always tend find a way  to solve any problem and this pandemic where everything is put on a halt, learning not stopping. As 77% of people in India owns a smartphone  and  as internet has gotten cheaper and  is available to more and more people. Keeping  these demographics in mind educational institutions all over India have started taking classes online . These classes are taken so that the schools can cover the portion of the syllabus to some extent so that they don’t have to face the problem of completing it altogether when the  things come back to normal. It is a very good step as students can attend the classes in the comfort of their home and yes very important thing they are safe. The big question here is should this, be made compulsory for all the students?

What about the remaining 23% others who does not own a smartphone, Education itself is something they are getting after facing  so  many hardships. Especially in private schools where there is a provision to give a reservation of 25%  seats for the children coming from the weaker section of the society. Many a times they don’t even get the information that the classes have started online, these children suffer a loss due to this. At times institutions also overlook these issues as they have to safeguard the interests of other students whose parents are elite.

In Kerala a 14 year old girl committed suicide as she was  depressed of not being able attend the online lectures, as she didn’t have a mobile. Some students go through  an agony no one would understand, as its their growing years there are many insecurities they feel that cannot be explained. In  situation like these making the online classes compulsory is not a good idea. This surely will impact the importance of the online class as some students will not attend the class despite having all the facilities. Rather some concession should be given to those students who don’t have these facilities. Also an assurance should be given to these students that as the schools reopen they would arrange some special classes to teach them these lessons so that they do not feel left out. This extra effort should be taken by the educational institutions.

Such instances should not mean that the online education should be reverted ,rather it should be revised. Digital teaching is a good way to get quality education, to have a productive day while in quarantine. As digitalization is slowly becoming a part of everyday’s life and there is no doubt that it should be utilized by the public effectively. For this the amenities should be provided to the people in an affordable price so that this campaign of digitalization can have greater success . This will also increase the students participating in digital education and nor the institution have to do extra work and they can do the job of educating students smoothly. It is really important that we understand the importance of educating students as its every child ‘s right to get Education and no one should be denied of their right.

HOW THE MOVIE, SUBH MANGAL ZYADA SAAVDHAN EMERGES OUT TO BE AN EXCELLENT MOVIE INSPITE HAVING FEW FLAWS –

Subh mangal zyada saavdhan is
is a pure entertainment movie based on homosexuality. But some areas in the film need our special attentions. Through out the film you will laugh out loud. But there are few things which are quite disturbing and unexpected.

The first thing is beating up one person from the gay couple so badly until he fainted and that too was shown in a typical comic way by playing funny slow motion music with it which leads everyone in the cinema hall to a laugh riot during this scene. It is well known that the director wanted this film to be funny so that it can attract a huge crowd to witness it and through this laugh riot he wanted people to understand the need of acceptance for this community. But this scene was not necessary when everyday some or the other person is being beaten up even being murdered by their own family member just for being queer or exceptional. This scene was not at all necessary when the motive of the director was to normalise this relationship in the society.

The second thing is though they didn’t effeminate any one from the couple but they focused more on the acceptance of their relationship in their family than focusing on their relation and romance.

Films based on homosexuality had also been made before in our country but this was the first commercial entertainment film based on homosexuality. The expectations were higher. Everyday these people are suffering. This generation is suffering. Even the next generation will also suffer but may be a little less. In every friends group we can find some people who are against homosexuality. Either they are homophobes or borderline homophobes. Inspite of being a pure comedy film it failed to attract the majority of the mass. Even in 2020 after decriminalization of 377 we still have people who don’t like it. Who won’t accept their family members for being queer.

This topic is really very sensitive and delicate topic. Making a comedy film on this is really commendable. Kudos to the directors and the actors who have made it happen. Nothing can be totally flawless. I just hope Bollywood to have more films like this one but better than this. WITHOUT THESE FLAWS.

Farewell to reel life MS Dhoni.

Another sad thing happened, the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput left his fans into shock. Born on January 21, 1986, hailing from Patna Bihar. He was a well-known dancer and actor, popularly known for his remarkable role as MS Dhoni. He died on June 14, 2020. The actor committed suicide, the reason is said to be depression.
Swapped to acting- He was pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Delhi Technological University, an idea of opting for a career in acting rose up when he enrolled for dance classes. As soon as his classmates were interested in attending drama classes, this enthusiasm of his fellow mates made Sushant to join drama classes. And that’s where he found his ambitions towards acting.”I found the experience liberating. I realized that I could communicate with the audience. I
knew I wanted to do this forever.” Soon after his joining, he became a part of Davar’s familiar dancers.
● In 2005 he was chosen as a background dancer at 51st Filmfare Awards.
● In 2006 he went to Australia with the same dancing group for the opening ceremony of CommonWealth games.
● Till then he was fed up with engineering and was happy and successful in drama and dance classes, so he dropped out of engineering and opted dancing and acting as his career.
● To give a lift to his dreams, he headed to Mumbai and joined Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theatre. During this course of time, he starred in a TV advertisement for Nestle Munch.
● In 2008, he got an opportunity to audition and ended up being Preet Juneja in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil.
● 2009 was a fortunate year for him, Rajput began starring in Pavitra Rishta. His work was extremely appreciated and won three major television awards for the best male actor and most popular actor.
● In 2010, Sushant was a part of dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and another dance-based reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4. He was doing these shows while he was shooting for Pavitra Rishta.
● In 2011 he decided to quit Pavitra Rishta.
● In 2013 he auditioned for Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che! and was assigned as one of the lead actors. The movie was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. The movie came out to be a great success. To his acting, Rajeev Masand wrote: “…it’s Sushant Singh Rajput, making his film debut as Ishaan, who it’s hard to take your eyes off. The actor has an indescribable presence and it’s clear from his confidence and distinct likeability that a star is born.”

Later he was filmed in Shudh Desi Romance(2013), then a significantly minor role in PK (which
was a highest-grossing film), Detective Byomkesh Bakshy(2015), M.S. Dhoni: The Untold
Story(2016) for which he was nominated for Filmfare awards for Best actor, Raabta(2017),
Kedarnath(2018), Sonchiriya(2019), Chhichhore(2019). He was working for Dil Bechara but due
to pandemic, it was halted.

Mumbai police at his residence.

On June 14 actor Sushant Singh was found dead. The reason came out to be a suicide. The reports also say he was suffering from depression from the last 6 months, though no suicide note is found yet. Also, Karan Johar blamed himself for not being in touch with the actor. His former manager Disha Salian also died on June 9, just 5 days before the demise of actor Sushant. In the movie Chichore, he portrayed a beautiful theme “Suicide as not an option to handle troublesome situations” but ended up dealing with the same.

Film Industry lost another magnificent actor!

His smiling face will be missed.

The untold story of Sushanth Singh Rajput

“Men have emotions too so don’t be shy to cry. It’s ok to let it out. It’s not weakness but a sign of strength. Be man to feel. Feeling is human.” Tweet from Sushanth Singh Rajput. People can’t beleive that the same man who tweeted can commit suicide.Being a man doesn’t mean you can’t cry or show your pain in any form. Tears and Pain is not gendercentric, as it is a form of expression by humans and all species. Have the courage to express your emotions for better.

He last used the Twitter on December 2019 which also confirms the news of his depression from last six months.Suicide by sushant singh rajput is a grave reminder to us that you never know what a person is going through. To everyone out there who’s hurting in silence, you may not want to exist right now, but someone is happy that you do.
You are worthy.Never give up.No death note. Preliminary investigation is not yet complete. We don’t really know what has happened, let his soul rest in peace. We have to know the truth. 6 days ago, his ex-manager committed suicide. Police hasn’t ruled out anything yet.One middle class small town guy came to mumbai touched sky against all odds , inspired millions middle class but now you suddenly left , we can’t understand what pain you were going through but we will always miss you.

Did he knew what we know now. He had a list of 50 dreams which meant that he had to fulfill his dreams before he could commit suicide?

The depression we feel, the happiness we enjoy, the moments we live are temporary. Remember everything is a feeling and it doesn’t last long. You can trust anybody except yourself. Don’t become the fool who try to fool the fool within you. The love we get is the love we give. You can expect someone to treat you the same way you did to them but you can’t expect it from the life.

Life is unpredictable and can act unfair to anyone because it has a feeling that feeling is just a feeling and act cruelly. If life turns you upside down then don’t try to escape from it. You rather try to look the life in the way it expects you to look. Then life will change its way to again change you so that your life again comes to normal.

Anonymous: Since resurface

To say that this year has had its ups and downs would be a major understatement. With the series of major events happening on a daily basis, one could almost imagine God sitting up there playing “Apocalypse bingo”. However, jokes aside this pandemic has brought most of the countries of the world to its knees. Leaders across the globe are working frantically to contain the spread of the virus.

However it isn’t all so black and white, as some like Donald Trump are still neck deep in scandals as he very often is. He has often shown sympathy with white supremacists and condoned the acts of high-profile criminals with a similar mindset as him. He has been accused but due to a lack of concrete proof, hasn’t seen justice. This could certainly change soon as he has been forced to take shelter within the president’s bunker, which many speculate is due to the rise in protests of the death of George Floyd who was killed by the Minneapolis police department. This rise in protests could be in part due to the support of an online hacktivist group called Anonymous, who came out of their hiatus of three years. Anonymous started as a hacking prank group from 4chan sites, who did small tome pranks. However over time they slowly shifted towards anti-censorship, and anti-surveillance hacktivism. They have taken part in many wars against giant corporations which while short lived have provided ample evidence of their small-scale cyber guerrilla warfare. Due to them not having a formal leader or head, infighting within the organisation erupts. It is due to this reason that they were unable to hack into Amazon during their “Operation Payback” (in which they had hacked into PayPal.com) .They not only condemned the wrongful killing of Floyd, but also declared an online war against the Minneapolis police due to their repeated systemic racial abuse. They followed through their promise by simultaneously bringing down police servers all across the state. They not only targeted the police but also went after Trump promising to expose his dirty secrets, which they did by leaking not only his ties with Jeffery Epstein, but rather outright naming his a co conspirator in his child trafficking and pornography ring and have called on him for raping, sexual misconduct and numerous other horrendous charges as seen in these transcripts https://www.scribd.com/doc/316341058/Donald-Trump-Jeffrey-Epstein-Rape-Lawsuit-and-Affidavits. They have also named Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and a number of other prominent names to have been a part of Epstein’s illegal activities. As if this wasn’t enough, they have also made allegations on the royal family for staging princess Diana’s death as an accident due to her collecting evidence on the royal family for human trafficking and sexual misconducts, fuelling an already widespread conspiracy theory to new heights. Due to their nature of low-grade DDoS attacks, many social security experts term them as minor threats, however they may change their tune should this gain traction. The twitter account for the anonymous group has already amassed over 6 million subscribers. What the hacktivist group does next is anyone’s guess, however one thing is certain they do not show any signs of stopping soon.

What happens next is for all of us to see.

Instagram Envy

Today’s world is full of influencers. What you eat, what you wear, where you go on holiday, and even what you speak is heavily influenced by social media. Although people today are smart enough to realize that it is not okay to compare yourself to other people, social media still provides you numerous opportunities to do just that.

Recall that heavy feeling in your heart when you see your friends and celebrities posting photos doing exciting things like going on long drives, attending glamorous parties, and visiting rare places. This sinking feeling is known as Instagram Envy.

Instagram is all about unadulterated voyeurism. You will not find Facebook’s messiness or Twitter’s relatable content in the posts here. Instagram is almost a photo site with built-in vintage filters idealizing your every moment. It encourages its users to create these perfect layouts of their lives, almost as if everyone is living their fairy tale.

Why Instagram Envy Happens

There is an unspoken rule adopted by the users worldwide to avoid populating the feeds with any mediocre or unedited pictures. Now you might feel that it is all about showing off to your followers, but that is not the case here. It is trying to level with everyone else posting one amazing picture after another; it is trying to feel good about yourself that you are in no way less than any of your friends. Owing to this rule, people often end up spending hours in hopes of composing an image of food as simple as a glass of coke over a dish of pizza worthy enough for their Instagram feed.

envy

The followers, on the other hand, are expected to indulge in the ethics of impress rather than confess, all the while being swept away from the sumptuous photos and chipping in with beautiful comments. Even the likes are shaped like little hearts, reinforcing in the minds of the viewers, the idea that each shot is a performance worthy of applause. Every last image is an advertisement for the self.

In a society focused on physical appearance, this is perhaps no surprise that there is an element of narcissism to Insta-bragging. People with a higher level of narcissism post more self-presented photos and update their profile picture often.

Dealing with Instagram Envy

One approach to counteract Instagram envy is to showcase love, not luxury. People who generate Instagram envy can also use the same platform to demonstrate that they understand and embrace the value of citizens of all social and economic strata by posting about them. They will gain more followers than foes by showcasing love.

instagram

Another aspect you need to understand is that living through the lens is not all bad. Social media has made us all social, without a doubt. You catch up with long lost friends in no time because you already have an idea of what is going on in their lives. But you need to accept social media for what it is – it is social and it is, after all, media. You really shouldn’t blindly believe everything you see. You learn through experience that it is better to know how to post than to boast.

Dear- Indian education system…

Dear Indian Education System… I have decided to take a huge step, But, before that, you guys need to know a lot of things about me. I used to score amazing till std 10th when I scored well, leave alone my parents,  all my friends, neighbors, shopkeepers…  Even the watchman of my building started to say ” You are going to take Science. You will be an engineer” no. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t dislike Science.  Science is beautiful science is the ultimate truth but when I came in Std 10th the half-interested teachers in my school and coaching institute didn’t teach Science at all!  All they taught was how to solve maximum number of MCQs in a given time, like a robot that killed the beauty of Science sir.  And that Physic’s topper of my class  He didn’t believe that evolution actually happened  He just wanted to solve maximum number of MCQs  So much obsession with Science.

India hasn’t won a single Nobel Prize in Science  Since Independence  Nobel Prizes are just “awards” , you’ll say  India produces the maximum number of engineers per year  Yet, India ranks 60th  in the Global Innovation Index that means no major innovation has happened since Independence, all we keep saying is “Aryabhatta invented Zero” to be honest, after 10th, I wanted to study Physics, Graphic Designing, Coding, History, Music and English Literature Why couldn’t the evaluation of my intelligence and calibers be on the basis of these subjects?  Why should’ve I wasted my time studying subjects I didn’t want to study?  So, I left the damn coaching institute, used to get out of my home during coaching hours and used to read novels in the park, see new places to be honest, I felt free It felt good not to be a zombie I learnt graphic designing on my own  I listened to some beautiful music by Mozart and Rahman  I read Poetry, I taught myself Python, and I read some amazing write-ups  on various topics of Physics  I am taking a huge step.  I am dropping out no not because Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg are drop-outs, not because being a “dropout” is cool, and neither it is because of the frustration of failing.

Dear Indian Education System I am dropping out simply because you do not make any sense and now, you’ll ask me, who will give me a job?  Who will feed me?  I believe somewhere somebody is there who’ll see my skills. Will value my creativity.  Who will value my intelligence, not my CGPA Yes, I failed. but I know there is a lot to do, observe, and learn only my marksheet says that I can’t do anything but I know I will do something good.

TIPS ON HOW TO CREATE A STARTUP IN COLLEGE AND HOW TO FIND A SUITABLE CO-PARTNER

Before starting, there are tons of books which may offer you an honest flavour and understanding of Startups:Zero to one , The Lean Startup, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, etc. You will not become an Entrepreneur by reading books, but you’ll definitely have a far better understanding and a few motivation – so you want to read them

Google, Facebook, Microsoft. All three companies were started by college students and now they’re among the most important companies within the world. Students feel inspired by such success stories but often don’t have a transparent idea of what they really want to realize once they start a business.

The following points give a thought on the way to start your own company while being in college.

  1. Prioritize
It is getting to be very difficult if you are doing not have a transparent plan of your business goals. Do not set a really horizontal bar initially as this puts unnecessary stress. Plan your day beforehand in order that you’ll allocate sufficient time to both academics and start-up and strictly say no to activities which don’t align together with your interests.
  2. Choosing right courses
Colleges provide various electives on entrepreneurship, management. Select such courses which can help to find out about how businesses operate, grow and performance at an outsized scale. This helps in bridging the gap between academics and entrepreneurship. This also helps in networking with compatible students, alumni which may be an enormous boost during this startup journey.
  3. Funding for startup
There are several colleges which permit their students to pitch their business idea. And if selected a particular amount is allocated to assist them start performing on their plan. These programs are an enormous motivation as they don’t need to worry for the cash within the initial stages. Also make use of the college alumni network to connect to successful entrepreneurs who can help you.
  4. Finding a mentor
A mentor helps in clearing up doubts and may prevent you from making a wrong decision. Attend various e-summits, business events, alumni meet hosted by your college and you’ll find people willing to guide you during this journey.

Tying it together
There will be people to demotivate you and doubt your goals. Turn a deaf ear to them and believe that this can be achieved. Enjoy the journey so that it does not seem like an additional burden. Do not get upset by the initial roadblocks and keep doing your part.
For making the startup successful, finding the proper co-founder may be a vital thing that one must do. There will be so many challenges in this journey and it is better to face them together rather than doing it alone. Great teams persevere, and success breeds success.

  1. Networking
Networking is much more crucial than you think. Attend different events like entrepreneurship summits, business seminars etc. Use social networking platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook to your benefit.
  2. Attend e-summits organised by universities
University professors know many entrepreneurs, alums who are trying to find suitable persons matching their interests and business plans. Discuss your plans with them and you maybe lucky enough to seek out the support.
  3. Meet colleagues from previous jobs
If you met someone in your previous job with an entrepreneurial spirit, try to follow up with that person. If you both had thought of owning a company at some time, now is the time to work on that dream.
  4. Explore common interests outside of work.
Searching for a co-founder is often tricky. It involves taking to consideration multiple factors, the foremost common being compatibility. Make sure you recover together even outside of your work. Strengthen the bonding in various ways like enjoying sports or checking out each other’s reading tastes.
  5. Jointly define long term and short term goals for the startup.
The enthusiasm maybe very high initially but its real test is within the end of the day . Come together on decisions such as various short term and long term goals for the company. Decide on vision of the corporate , the mission which it wants to accomplish.
  6. Clarify each one’s role
Make it very clear about the roles each one is going to play. Take responsibility for the decisions which you are going to take. Plan in such how , that the co-founders function without having to interfere in each other’s jurisdiction.

REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN IS CHANGING IN INDIAN MEDIA

Representation of women in Indian media is gradually changing itself from the way it has been since past hundred years. Previously women’s role had always been submissive to the male protagonist in every films and series. But the second wave feminism that occurred in USA and then rapidly spread across the Western World had compelled the Indian directors of films to reconsider their roles in Indian entertainment world. Even now there are several examples of films where we can see the unnecessary glorification of patriarchy and the disempowered and helpless portrayal of females. But there are some movies which are definitely trying to change the preconceived notion about females in the film industry.

A such film was THAPPAD, by Mr. Anubhav Sinha. Much can be written about this movie because every bit of it needs interpretation. But actually and factually it is not needed because it doesn’t matter how many neutral interpretations are there, most of the people are going to watch it from only two perspectives, either feministic or patriarchal. Very few would be able to rise above this discrimination and watch it from a human perspective. It was visible in the theatre, the gents who were siting around me, feeling a bit uncomfortable and two of them left the theatre after the interval. And many of women were sobbing. The incident or the story this movie shows is the story of every household keeping that one slap part aside. We have already seen this movie long ago and seeing it repeatedly. This is the scenario of every household. The movie properly shows how deep rooted patriarchy is in our country.

The director has used many household stories in the film to portray this. May be that’s what we call microaggression to which mainly the women are able to relate the most. Because it’s only the women who are experiencing it every day from the very beginning. The role of the women is always STEREOTYPED. The reason of the wife seeking divorce in the film is not only the one slap. It was the attitude of the husband. Who acted like nothing has happened and his wife should move on with him being happy and smiling. If only the attitude of the husband was different the climax of the movie would have been something else. But the director chose to show the unfair privileges that the men has and most of them use it in their household.

The movie starts using the metaphor of a melting ice cream which signifies that you have to take the taste of life and live it the fullest before it gets melted. The protagonist in the film, Amrita, portrayed by Taapsee Pannu, only tried to do that after realising it.

Many interpretations can be made about the film but this won’t make much sense. It won’t change the toxicity of our minds. Because we’re living in a country where a film makes crores where the women is submissive and this kind of movies don’t do even half of it.

DIRECTOR, MR. ANUBHAV SINHA should be thanked for making this film. This was needed and it will be needed years later also. This kind of films where women emerge as strong and independent at the end, are really necessary to be made more frequently.

Businesses that are majorly affected!!!

In the pandemic situation where the world seeks a miracle of vaccines, there are many business that came to halt or even they are going to be shut soon. Currently the major task of ours is to stop the spreading of corona virus. It is wisely said “If there is Health there is Wealth”. First we need to cope up with the pandemic situation and then business can be again built, if we stay alive.

CNBC Global CFO survey says that 40% of the business are facing the problem in transportation of the goods and it is expected that it would take more 5-6 months to start and run normally (25% of them said 6 months and other would take a long than that).

“Nobody knows. The economic issues are totally driven by public health issues. You tell me how long we will be at home and I will tell you how long it will take for the economy and supply chains to recover.”

-words of Yossi Sheffi, Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the director of the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics. Yossi Sheffi further says, if we want to build our business again as soon as possible than there is only one way out to do this and that is to join the war again corona virus and defeat it as early as possible, this epic war is started by many of the companies with their different types of help they can provide, like wise:

  • Auto manufacturers like Tesla and GM motors are providing ventilators to the hospital.

The supply chain is completely disturb there is over manufacturing as there is no one to load and unload the trucks. Border shipping is still allowed but shipping through overseas it still a major concern. There will be also huge disturb in supply chain of for pre-planned Indian weddings, as now weddings are postponed or might be done in simple way, the business related to it like party plots, wedding photographers, ca tress, decorators, wedding materials, transportation, apparels and even small-small business related to it. A single event covers many business so all the business are affected largely.

The business of theater and restaurant are also at halt, which may cause a major set back as there are many of the workers working in restaurant it self. In film industry too many of the workers are engaged.

Teen slangs of 2020

Latest Teen Slang

Here are 20 of the latest teen slang words and phrases that are showing up in 2020, and what they mean.

Extra

This is another way of saying that someone or something is too much or over the top. An example might be: “She is so extra. She talks about Karen non-stop.” Extra can also be used in a self-deprecating way.

Snatched

You don’t have to worry if you hear your teen saying that someone or something is snatched. It’s actually a compliment, and it could sound something like: “I love those sneakers! They are so snatched.”

Big yikes

To use a slang word that we’ve already learned, big yikes is like yikes only extra. Think about how you might use “Yikes!” or “No way!” and then double it as in: “Big yikes! Did you see what Jared just posted on his finsta??”

Finsta

You monitor your teen’s social media and are probably even connected with them on Instagram, so you feel like you’re aware of their digital footprint, right? Unfortunately, they may have a “finsta” too, which is a secret second Instagram account. This account is hidden from parents and may tell a different story than your child’s official Instagram account.

Flex

Flex is the new way to say “show off.” An easy way to remember this one is to picture someone flexing their muscles. Your teen might say: “She is trying to flex all over finsta today since she received another college acceptance letter.”

No cap

This is probably equivalent to our “for real” or no “no lie” from our younger days. Teens are emphasizing that they are telling the truth with this one.

Lowkey

This is a way to describe something you want to keep on the downlow, to use one of our old slang words, or something that you don’t want to emphasize too much. For instance: “I lowkey can’t wait for this school year to be over… not that I’m mentioning this to my parents.”

Highkey

Conversely, highkey is a way to describe something that you really want to emphasize. For example, “I highkey can’t wait for this day to end! I want to scream it from the rooftops.”

I’m dead

This is one you may have noticed in many of BuzzFeed’s “article” headlines. “I’m dead” refers to the fact that your teen is laughing so hard about something that she is dying of laughter.

Slay

Slay is a way to say someone looks amazing or did an excellent job at something. One friend might tell another: “Girl, you slayed in that game! I can’t believe how many points you scored.”

Straight fire

Straight fire is otherwise known as “on the up and up” or better than all of the rest. It can also mean hot. Not as in temperature, but as in “That’s hot!” expressed in a positive way.

Spill the tea

If you hear your teen asking a friend to “spill the tea,” it means that they want to hear the latest gossip or story. Your teen might say, “Spill the tea! I want to hear what happened after you left the party.”

CD9

Breaker, breaker. This one may take you back to the walkie-talkie days of your youth. CD9 stands for Code 9 as in, “Can’t talk! My parents are here!”

Shook

Shook is a way to describe that you are emotionally shaken or affected by something. You might hear your teen say, “I stayed up all night reading that book, and now I am shook.”

Netflix and Chill

This one sounds nice, right? Maybe you’re at work right now thinking of how nice it would be to get comfy on the couch and watch Netflix tonight with a pint of ice cream. When your teen says it, unfortunately, it means that she is using that as a front to have someone over (or go over there house) to make out and possibly
