The Bubonic plague

The Chinese Authorities on Sunday warned of a bubonic plague in inner Mongolia as it was suspected that people there are actually getting infected by the plague. Bubonic plague has happened in the past in Europe around Twelfth century, at that time it had killed Millions of people and due to the plague one third of the population of Europe was wiped out. It was then called the black death.

This is a rare but very serious bacterial disease caused by Yesinia Pestis a type bacteria, this disease can be spread by Rodents and infected fleas. When an infected flea bites you, the y pestis enters into your body and travels through the lymphatic system of your body and then starts to multiply itself in the lymph nodes. As lymph nodes are the perfect medium for them to replicate these nodes then becomes tense and inflamed and as these inflamed lymph nodes becomes sore and would eventually after some time become filled with Pus.

Any disease can be identified if we know the symptoms. Though the symptoms of this plague is not much different from other normal diseases but there are some symptoms which would  indicate that its this disease. The protrusion of lymph nodes which can be as big as chicken eggs, this protrusion can be in different parts of the body like groin, or under the armpits, this is the major symptom. There are also chances that one may have fever, chills, pain in the head, tiredness, some body pains which can be a symptom of this disease.

This disease is curable, as the medicine for this disease is developed. The time between exposure and the first symptom to  appear is twenty four hours. If checked in time it can be treated as the recovery rate is very high. This plague can take a serious turn if it reaches the lungs, when this happens it is called the pneumonic plague but it only happens to some people, because of this the mortality rate of this plague is increased by thirty percent if the pneumonic plague is not treated in time.

The transmission of this disease is just by the infected fleas, rodents , mice .Human to human transmission is rare but yes if a person develops Pneumonic plague then the transfer can happen by the the droplets of the sneeze or exchanging body fluids. If a person dies because of the Bubonic plague, the dead body of this person can actually infect the plague to his close relatives as the source of the infection is still active inside the body.

In the past the plague was treated by quarantines and self isolation , Antibiotics have been developed to treat plague. The disease can be treated if early diagnostics is taken and a person can be recovered.

WHO has put  guidelines about the plague in the website, which says that  from 2010 to 2014 there has been three thousand two hundred and forty eight cases where five hundred and twenty eight people died. So people should take strict prevention measures so as to stop the spread of this plague.

How India’s massive Election System works?

The world’s biggest democracy just had an election. The world’s biggest democratic election It’s a marathon election A mammoth undertaking It’s the world’s biggest exercise in democracy In India, voters picked its central government for the next five years. An eighth of the world’s population was eligible to vote in this election. In the year, 2019, there are 900 million eligible voters in India making this the largest Democratic exercise in the history of humanity.

A vote for reform: Election Commission collaborating with IIT-M on ...

In one of the largest and most populous countries in the world, that isn’t an easy task. India has to reach voters in coastal cities in the south, in the rural regions of the west, and jungles to the east and everywhere in between. And what’s more, they want every Indian citizen to be within 2 km of a voting station. That’s only about 25 city blocks no matter where you are in the country. It’s an incredibly ambitious goal and yet, somehow they’re able to do it. This is the biggest election in the world and I wanted to know how does it work. Every election a team of state officials and security forces, get on a ship within the east of India to require off towards this island. They travel about 100 km to get here, all to securely deliver these Electronic Voting Machines or EVMS, the instrument that logs India’s votes, the heart of this elaborate election process.

Election Commission's crackdown on poll-related monetary ...

India has 2.3 million voting machines for its 900 million voters. So, getting these machines on the brink of every voter may be a big logistical undertaking. That’s why India doesn’t have one polling day , instead, it’s closer to an election month with multiple phases that last weeks. This process takes more than 11 million election officials and security forces, who move from polling station to polling station to polling station from densely populated cities to the rural areas where the majority of Indians live. Once on the island with the EVMs, officials pile on to bike carts and head towards the polling station. Once they arrive, they start setting everything up for the vote.

On Election Day, voters line up, cast their vote, and get their fingers inked to prevent double voting. This is where the process ends for the voters, but for the election officials this is just the beginning. Driving a boat out to a remote island is just one of many ways that officials reach every voter. India’s vast and diverse terrain requires transportation methods of all kinds, like in the jungles of this northern state where elephants transport voting machines to reach a remote town or in the Himalayas where officials hike for hours to bring EVMS for election day. Helicopters, trains, they even use camels. But what makes India’s elections so impressive is not just how they reach everyone in such an enormous country, that’s just half the battle. It’s also the ways they try to include voters of all backgrounds into the process, a challenge that has been a part of India’s elections since the very beginning. India has 22 official languages and hundreds of dialects and when India became an independent nation, less than a quarter of the population could read and write.

Why EC Owes an Answer to the Country Over 'Phantom Votes' | NewsClick

The newly formed Election Commission of India created a range of symbols to correspond to each political party, like an elephant, a lotus, a hand or even an alarm clock so that from the beginning all people regardless of literacy level and language could vote with confidence. Since 1947, the literacy rate has increased significantly, but it’s still only 75 percent, so these symbols are still useful to many when casting a vote. But this is a massive sprawling operation and over the years it’s run into some pretty serious problems like allegations of election rigging and problems with a practice called booth capture, where gangs actually take over polling stations and tamper with the elections. It’s partly because of these problems that the Commission introduced these voting machines in the 1990s.

It also increased security around the elections. These efforts to include all voters and protect elections seem to be working. In 2019, India saw the highest voter turnout yet and for the firsttime women voted just as much as men. India’s elections are only getting bigger and more complicated. India has one among the fastest growing populations within the world. and in 2020, young people will make up more than a third of the country. This is the most important election within the world that takes many officials fanning out across a huge country to assist many millions vote.

BLACK HOLE: The Singularity

We are always fascinated by stars, planets, universe. We used to think that planets orbiting stars. But they might exist around the supermassive black hole too. People have floated ideas about planets orbiting smaller black holes before, but far less is known about supermassive black holes.

In 1930 a 20-year-old Indian student named Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar was sailing from Madras to England to pursue his studies in astrophysics. During the voyage, he toyed with equations describing the stability of stars. And from a few lines of this mathematics, a momentous discovery emerged. Astronomers of the day had only a sketchy understanding of what makes stars tick. They knew that a star is a ball of hot gas engaging in a cosmic balancing act. There is a gas that tries to come out into the vacuum of the surrounding space, but gravity holds it back. In stars like the sun, an equilibrium is achieved, but only if the gas burns fuel to generate heat, which we now know is produced by nuclear reactions in the core. However, uncertainty surrounded the question of what happens when the fuel runs out. It seemed that gravity would inevitably gain the upper hand, causing the star to contract, and the smaller the radius, the fiercer the gravitational force would become at the surface. Astronomers had long been familiar with tiny stars known as white dwarfs, which contain a mass comparable to the sun but squashed into a volume roughly the size of the Earth. These burned-out stellar remnants are so dense that their atoms are pressed cheek by jowl. Further compression would mean the atoms themselves would be crushed, which was initially assumed to be impossible due to the laws of quantum physics. The outermost boundary of the hole is its event horizon.

The event horizon is a point of no return concentrated with energy. Quantum effects at the edge create streams of hot particles that radiate back out into the universe. This is called Hawking radiation, after the physicist Stephen Hawking, who predicted it. As you go deeper into the black hole, space becomes ever curvier until, at the center, it becomes infinitely curved. This is the singularity. Space and time cease to be meaningful ideas and the laws of physics as we know them — all of which require space and time.

It is said until one reaches the center, wouldn’t be able to understand the origin. There is nothing but darkness. The gravity is so strong there that even the light can’t sustain. The general relativity theory by Einstien is very applicable in discussing black hole. There is nothing more interesting and strange thing than the Black Hole theory. It also stretches people’s imagination and thinking capability to another level. Nothing can come out from the black hole’s gravitational force. It says many black holes are there which is surrounded by gas and dust. The stems of gas and dust move in such a way that it seems water is draining down. The particles of black holes run to an infinitely dense point which is very small in size. Many controversies are there among those one says our universe is a latecomer and it also says that there might have universe existed, which contained a black hole.

New bubonic plague case suspected after covid-19 in China; Alert sounded.

In this hard times of corona virus pandemic , chine has reported another deadly bubonic plague case in the northern China’s inner Mongolia. The detection of the suspected case of bubonic plague has come to light in statement issued by a local health commission on its website.

As per a media report, a third-level warning alert was issued on Sunday. The warning period has been extended to the end of the year. On July 1, state-run Xinhua news agency said that two suspected cases of bubonic plague reported in Khovd province in western Mongolia have been confirmed by lab test results. The confirmed cases are a 27-year-old resident and his 17-year-old brother. The brothers ate marmot meat, the health official said.

The Yersinia pestis bacteria can be transmitted to humans from infected rats via fleas.  Though the highly-contagious plague is rare in China and can be treated, at least five people have died from it since 2014, according to China’s National Health Commission.

Bubonic plague symptoms and precautions:

The health commission urged the people in city to take precautions to avoid infection. It is a bacterial disease spread by fleas living on wild rodents such as marmots.

According to World Health Organisation(WHO), the plague can kill an adult in less than 24 hours if not treated in time. Bubonic plague symptoms include headaches, fever and vomiting. Swollen and painful lymph nodes occur in the area close to where bacteria entered skin.

Electronic mail

We use electronic mails in our everyday lives, it has become a mode of an etiquette way of conveying messages if formality is required. Nevertheless we can use electronic mails to send our friends a message, it also serves the purpose for an informal yet important messages to be delivered. It is seen most of the people use it to transfer files from mobile to computer though there are other ways like Google drive and bluetooth but E-mail is a more convenient and efficient way to do this. It is said that over 3.9 million people all over the world use e-mail every day. Even after so many years of its Invention this method of exchanging messages is still prevalent.

Ray Tomlinson was the person who  invented it in 1971, he was an American computer programmer . He implemented the email such that it could be sent from one user to many different users in ARPANET. ARPANET was the basis of internet which was developed by the U.S advanced research process agency (ARPA). Its initial purpose was to serve as a medium to share and exchange messages but it required that users could only send to the receiver when he or she is online like the instant messaging. The first e mail was sent in 1973 which was very similar to that of the basic email sent today. What is obvious is many things are upgraded and yes there are many search engines being developed like Yahoo, google, hotmail to facilitate ourselves.

What is SMPT?

As you know that whenever we are using computer which understands binary language and internet which is a very complex thing, there are some specific rules to use them because these electronic items do not understand our language so we have to actually follow some rules so as to make our work done. So there are some set of protocols to be followed which are called the SMPT which is simple mail transfer protocol. SMPT sets up rule for the servers, it moves and forwards your mails to the servers. It can also send networks outside the internet. When we write our email with “@ ” symbol we are actually creating a definite address what is more interesting is that if you write a receivers address with the same symbol, it automatically connects you to the address if it exists, if it does not exist then is may not send your email at all.  SMPT takes care of all the process from sending the composed mail to the receiver and to the right address.

Now a days it is even simpler to send mails to different domains, you may ask what are domains? domains are used to identify one or more IP address that is internet protocol address. Not clear yet, in simpler terms @ gmail.com, @ yahoo.com and many more. they are used to identify different web pages or we call it search engines.

So E- mails have a long history which should be admired, it has made our lives so easier and simpler . So the next time you use the electronic mail , it should come to your mind that what minds were behind the invention of this great thing and we should be grateful for it

History Blast from the Past : ISRO’s 20 Satellites in One Go through PSLV C34 Achievement >>>>>>>>>>>

SALUTE TO ISRO AND OUR GREAT SCIENTISTS

Sometimes rewind the moments related to country pride has quite satisfactory. In the post, I am recalling the ISRO’s historical moment of 2016 … 20 satellites in one go.

Isro scripted history on Wednesday by launching 20 satellites, including those from the US, Germany, Canada and Indonesia, from its Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota in one go.

The Indian Space Research Organisation used its flagship rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C34 — standing 44.4 metre tall and weighing 320 tonne — for the lift-off that was lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modiji.

“Our space programme has time and again shown the transformative potential of science & technology in people’s lives,” he posted after the rocket tore into the morning skies at 9.26 am with a growl breaking free of the earth’s gravitational pull.

“Over the years we developed expertise & capability to help other nations in their space initiatives. This is the skill of our scientists.”

The 20 satellites weighed 1,288kg. The rocket’s main cargo is India’s 725.5kg Cartosat-2 series satellite for earth observation. This satellite is similar to the earlier Cartosat-2, 2A and 2B.

The other 19 satellites weighing around 560 kg are from the US, Canada, Germany and Indonesia as well as one satellite each from Chennai’s Sathyabama University and College of Engineering, Pune. The whole launch mission was over in around 26 minutes.

Isro chairperson AS Kiran Kumar congratulated his team on the successful launch ‘in record time’ and said “PSLV C-34 has done its job”.

“We have the current generation of earth observation satellite of Cartosat 2 series,” ISRO said, and added the space agency had done a “wonderful job”.

The images sent by Cartosat satellite will be useful for cartographic, urban, rural, coastal land use, water distribution and other applications.

The 110kg SkySat Gen2-1 belonging to Terra Bella, a Google company, is a small earth-imaging satellite capable of capturing sub-metre resolution imagery and high definition video, Isro said.

The Planet Labs Dove Satellites are also earth-imaging satellites. A total of 12 Dove satellites each weighing 4.7kg are carried in this mission inside three QuadPack dispensers, the space agency said.

The PSLV rocket also carriedf 85kg M3MSat from Canada. The technology-demonstration mission was jointly funded and managed by Defence Research and Development Canada and the Canadian Space Agency.

The other foreign satellites on board were: 120 kg LAPSN-A3 of Indonesia, the 130 kg BIROS, from German Aerospace Centre, and the 25.5 kg GHGSat-D, Canada.

The 1.5 kg Sathyabamasat from Sathyabama University will collect data on green house gases while the 1kg Swayam satellite from College of Engineering, Pune will provide point-to-point messaging services to the HAM radio community.

In 2008, the Isro had launched 10 satellites with the PSLV rocket. Till date India has launched 57 foreign satellites successfully.

Negotiating- The Art, a small story!!!

I think there is an art to it it’s a craft, the negotiating training this morning in the office and the reason, negotiating it be is because it’s the one area of the deal where people need me the most and they need me the most they think I have the most confidence and the confidence that I have going to the deal comes from experience and it comes from honestly – practice practice practice because no matter what you’re selling you’re selling. Two different people you’ve got a seller and a buyer and in every negotiation you’ve got price you’ve got pressure and you’ve got persistence those are the three P’s remember that is it can be a nice little instructional.

The negotiations between Disney and Lucasfilm - A negotiation case ...

An iPhone cost to make now you’re not going to negotiate the price of an iPhone because there’s too strong demand but let’s say there wasn’t strong demand then you can negotiate or you can find a retailer who’s going to sell it to you for cheaper because it doesn’t cost nearly as much to make that phone. As it does for you to buy it real estate is the same way a deal that’s listed from 10 8 down to 10 so 10 million bucks the offer originally came in at 8 million dollars okay that seems like it’s way too far apart. If I go to the seller he’s going to say you got to come up they’re going to say oh no this is my offer so what do you do what do you do you remember the price you want to try to get – which in this instance was around 8 and a half that’s where we thought we’d get a deal done and the legacy price what the seller paid seller paid six point five. So, even at our low terrible awful offer that sellers making money that’s a good thing to remember and to consistently remind each side and then you let time saturate the emotions of the deal and you use repetition you only paid six five even if this bullshit offer you’re making money.

The Art of Negotiation in Project Management

There are clients who are losing million and they use pressure right the fear of a falling market and the fear of missing out every seller fears they’re not going to get their price going forward because maybe the market could change every buyer has a little fear that they’re going to lose it a little fear they’re going to miss out and then you’re trying to find the price in the middle where both sides will say we came to that number because that’s the max or the minimum that I’m willing to go to get this deal done.

Can a Business Simulation Game help develop Negotiation and ...

ATTITUDE v/s EGO…The real life stories…!!!

Attitude is a huge thing and small part of Attitude is EGO, Example if Attitude is a Continent then Ego is just a small country in it Attitude can be divided into two parts first Right attitude and Second is Wrong attitude people get confuse between ego and attitude because ego is the part of wrong attitude but the best part is that you can be a good attitude person without having an ego. Likewise, Every Indian is an Asian, but every Asian will be an Indian is not compulsory similarly,

“every Egoistic person will for sure have Attitude, but person who has Attitude doesn’t have Ego”.

Your attitude matters in your life – Journey of life Continues

Hence even you should be a person who has attitude you shouldn’t be a person who is egoistic or who has a bad attitude (wrong attitude) Now let’s talk about definition, Attitude shows what we think about other things How we feel and how we respond in any situation whereas Ego always allow us to think about our self-esteem and self-importance for example, person who has a Good Attitude will say No matter what happens I will win whereas an Egoistic person will say, that no matter what happens no one can beat me Good attitude person will live life as if he is the king of the world. Whereas bad attitude person lives a life as if everyone is their slave and everyone should always obey them.

Now let’s talk about today’s Book summary which is related to this Topic Author Ryan has accomplished huge successes in a very young age he was only 19 years when he became the youngest executive in the Talent Management Agency who later did signing of big rock bands, and also did consulting for many books which was sold in millions at the age of 21 he was the marketing director of an amazing Company AMERICAN PAREL. At the age of 25 he was also the best selling author everything was so perfect, but suddenly one day time changed and everything changed in his life he lost everything, he started failing in his life, he made a tattoo in his hand, he tattooed the most important reason of his failure in his hand so that he never forget that and should never repeat that same mistake in his life and can avoid such failure again.

200+ Ego Quotes, Sayings, Images to Inspire You in Love and Life ...

The tattoo which he made in his hand was “EGO IS THE ENEMY” because his ego was the main and the most important reason for his failure and that reason he never wanted to forget Ryan defines Ego as an unhealthy belief which make us obsessed about self-importance. Ryan says that ego is “something which converts our Confidence to Arrogance Ego is that dangerous thing which ruins or destroys our long term goals by just giving us short term satisfaction, and by making us feel; superior from others for just for short time and such ego is not at all right”. Author says that every person in their lives always stays in one stage out of three first stage is ASPIRING, second is SUCCEEDING and third is FAILING:

  1. Either person is aspiring, means working on something in order to achieve something in his life wanted to become something in his life.
  2. Either person has already achieved in his life, means he already faced success.
  3. Either person is failing in his life, he is not able to achieve anything huge in his life.

Now the biggest obstacle which stands firm in front of us during all three stages to defeat us is nothing but our OWN EGO. Now let’s see how EGO Comes between all three stages to destroy our goals:

1.Aspiring, Rohit has seen a video related to body building he loved that video, hence he decided that he will for sure become a bodybuilder no matter what happens after deciding. On first day he started posting workout pictures on social media pages by NO PAIN NO GAIN #WORKINGONMYDREAMS with this he started showing off more than his actions, he do less and show more after few days his entire motivation goes down, and he return to his normal life. Well this happens to many people and the reason for this is EGO Our Ego always makes us think what others are thinking about us therefore instead of taking maximum action for our goal completion. We started doing easy things to impress others such has we started talking more, we start uploading pictures on social media pages which in reality nor impress others not even allow us to complete our goals because in show off and talking same resources are required which is needed to complete our actual goals, which is our time, mental physical health /energy and our will power and mostly we use all these and finish it just by showing off and talking. Hence it will be best if you avoid wasting your energy on talking and in thinking about it all day, start using that same energy in taking action and in completing your goals.

2.Succeeding, at age 18 Howard Hughes took the biggest decision. He gave money to his relatives and bought 100 percent shares of his family business and became owner of that company. It was an Oil drill bit company this was the very bold decision because he wasn’t much aware about the business but still it proved to be the most brilliant move of his, Hughes shifted that company from 1 million dollar to 1 billion dollar he became very successful. His overconfidence or can say his Ego destroyed his success his ego made his career the most embarrassing the most dishonest and waste career in the history. The first huge Success of Hughes made him believe the he is very talented and he can be successful in any business, hence he get into Aviation field, film making and in stock market, and in every field he faced a huge loss in fact a biographer has shown Hughes end life in his book like he was sitting in his favorite chair naked, without taking care of his health, without bathing he was fighting with lawyers with investigators, investors by hiding his every wrong doings. So, that he doesn’t lose his everything Hughes Ego was the reason for his embarrassing end even after getting success he failed miserably most of the time when people get success, then their ego shift them from humble and learning person to overconfident person about their capabilities therefore they failed to maintain their success and hence they lose everything in their lives.

3.Failing, after many scandals and 300 million loss, company gave two options to American Apparel Founder Dove Chaney, first option to resign as a CEO from the company and to work as Creative Consultant and for that he will get a good pay or salary, and second to resign and completely leave the company at that Time Dove rejected both options and chose the third and the worst option which was to FIGHT. He filed a case against his company, he sue his company, instead of searching a better CEO for a company. He made that company to reach to bankruptcy his ego didn’t allow him to think better for his company instead he destroyed his company as well as himself because after that case his life was so devastated that he used to sleep on his friend couch because he was bankrupt, had no money. Ego is something which never allow us to understand our own shortcomings and faults just like an alcoholic who feels the whole world is doing wrong with him. He himself does the worst for himself, without realising that he is the biggest enemy of himself. Similarly, when we fail to achieve something, at that time instead of taking responsibility our ego starts making excuses starts blaming world and others our ego blames and make excuses so that our respect doesn’t decrease hence we do everything but never realize our mistakes and shortcomings because of which we fail to overcome it and fail to get success and achievements in our lives.

ANTI-CELL WALL ANTIBACTERIAL DRUGS

Selective toxicity is the important characteristic of antimicrobial drugs which means that any drug is selective against a particular microorganism and also selectively act on a particular site. Not all drugs can act on every site. There are many sites at which any drug acts such as cell wall, cell membrane of the bacterial cell. Basically selective toxicity explains that any drug will only act on the pathogen and not on the host.
ANTI-CELL WALL DRUGS
Anti-cell drugs are those drugs which act on the cell wall of the bacterial pathogen and not the host. There are variety of drugs which fall under this category. The major class is of beta-lactam antibiotics among which penicillin is the drug which is studied the most. The drugs can be administered into the patient’s body by different ways like intramuscular, intravenous, or can be applied as topical preparations. But mostly, these drugs are intramuscular or intravenous drugs. The following points explain the further different mechanisms of anti-cell wall drugs.
There are 3 different mechanisms by which anti-cell wall drugs work and thus they are also classified as following:

  1. First classification involves the drugs that directly interact with Penicillin-Binding-Proteins (PBPs) and inhibit the transpeptidase activity which in turn inhibits the attachment of newly formed peptidoglycan subunit to the pre-existing one.
This is the main mechanism of β-lactam antibiotics. These antibiotics include Penicillin (penams), cephalosporins, Penems, Carbapenems, and monobactams.
These antibiotics bind to the penicillin-binding proteins which are enzymes present in the bacterial cell wall. Different β-lactam antibiotics bind in a different way. After the antibiotics bind to the enzyme, it changes the morphological response of the bacteria to the antibiotic.
  2. Second classification involves the drugs that bind to the peptidoglycan subunit, blocking different processes.
The important class of compounds called as glycopeptides are mainly involved in this mechanism of anti-cell wall antibiotics.
Vancomycin and Teicoplanin are the major examples of glycopeptide antibiotics.
Vancomycin kills only gram-poitive bacteria whereas Teicoplanin is active against both. The overall mode of action of glycopeptides antibiotics is blocking transpeptidation i.e. similar to β-lactam antibiotics, they also inhibit the transpeptidase activity, and transglycosylation i.e. they being large in size attach to the peptidoglycan subunits thus creating a blockage which does not allow the cell wall subunits to attach to the growing peptidoglycan backbone.
  3. Third classification involves the drugs that block the transport of peptidoglycan subunits across cytoplasmic membrane.
The main example of such type of drugs is bacitracin, which is a simple peptide antibiotic originally isolated from Bacillus subtilis.
The mode of action of these class of drugs is blocking the activity of specific cell membrane lipid carriers which act as the attachment surface for peptidoglycan precursors and help in their movement from cell cytoplasm to exterior of the cell. This activity of lipid carriers is inhibited by bacitracin like drugs and they finally prevent the incoroporation of those precursors into cell wall thus inhibiting its biosynthesis.

Although, its route of administration is mostly oral or intramuscular, bacitracin is also known to show its effects when used as topical ointments like Neosporin.

DRDO Indigenous Brahmos Supersonic Missile Launch : Big Exclusive Report >>>>>>>>

BALASORE(ODISHA):

India on Tuesday successfully conducted separate trials of two variants of supersonic cruise missile BrahMos to check its capability to hit targets with precision and accuracy, Defence sources said.

A land-attack version of the missile was test-launched from a mobile autonomous launcher at Launch Pad-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur near here at around 8.30 am.

Its air force variant was fired in the afternoon when a fighter jet of the IAF flew from Kalaikunda airbase and launched the missile towards an air-borne target over the Bay of Bengal near here.

The trials, carried out to check the capability of the missile to hit targets with pinpoint accuracy, were successful, meeting all the parameters, a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) source said.

The BrahMos missile is a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile capable of being launched from submarines, warships, fighter jets or land. The 2.5-tonne missile has a strike range of nearly 300 kilometres.

The first extended version of the missile with a strike range of 450 km was successfully tested on March 11, 2017, Defence sources said. A shorter range land-attack version of the BrahMos was earlier successfully test-fired from the ITR at Chandipur on September 30, 2019.

Similarly, the IAF had conducted successful trials of BrahMos missiles from Trak Island in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on October 22 this year.

BrahMos is a joint venture of the DRDO of India and the NPOM of Russia. The missile is operational with the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The BrahMos is regarded as the fastest supersonic cruise missile in the world, the sources said adding that it has established itself as a major force multiplier in modern warfare with its land-attack and anti-ship capabilities with multi-role and multi-platform abilities.

The land-attack version of the missile was test-fired from a mobile autonomous launcher at Launch Complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur near here at around 8.30 am, they said. The trial of the surface-to-surface missile was successful, meeting all the parameters, a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) source said.

Environment: an overview

All living things that live on this earth come under the environment. Whether they live on land or water they are part of the environment. The environment also
includes air, water, sunlight, plants, animals, etc. Moreover, the earth is considered the only planet in the universe that supports life. The environment can be understood as a blanket that keeps life on the planet safe and sound.

Importance of Environment

We truly cannot understand the real worth of the environment. But we can estimate some of its importance that can help us understand its importance. It plays a vital role in keeping living things healthy in the environment. Likewise, it maintains the ecological balance that will keep check of life on earth. It provides food, shelter, air, and fulfills all the human needs whether big or small. Moreover, the entire life support of humans depends wholly on the environmental factors. In addition, it also helps in maintaining various life cycles on earth. Most importantly, our environment is the source of natural beauty and is necessary for maintaining
physical and mental health.

Benefits of the Environment

The environment gives us countless benefits that we can’t repay our entire life. As they are connected with the forest, trees, animals, water, and air. The forest and trees filter the air and absorb harmful gases. Plants purify water, reduce the chances of flood, maintain natural balance and many others. Moreover, the environment keeps a close check on the environment and its functioning, It regulates the vital systems that are essential for the ecosystem. Besides, it maintains the culture and quality of life on earth. The environment regulates various natural cycles that happen daily. These cycles help in maintaining the natural balance between living things and the environment. Disturbance of these things can ultimately affect the life cycle of humans and other living beings. The environment has helped us and other living beings to flourish and grow from
thousands of years. The environment provides us fertile land, water, air, livestock and many essential things for survival.

Cause of Environmental Degradation

Human activities are the major cause of environmental degradation because most of the activities humans do harm the environment in some way. The activities of humans that cause environmental degradation is pollution, defective environmental policies, chemicals, greenhouse gases, global warming, ozone depletion, etc. All these affect the environment badly. Besides, these overuse of natural resources will create a situation in the future where there will be no resources for consumption. And the most basic necessity of living air will get so polluted that humans have to use bottled oxygen for breathing. Above all, increasing human activity is exerting more pressure on the surface of the earth which is causing many disasters in an unnatural form. Also, we are using the natural resources at a pace that within a few years they will vanish from the earth.

To conclude, we can say that it is the environment that is keeping us alive. Without the blanket of environment, we won’t be able to survive. Moreover, the environment’s contribution to life cannot be repaid. Besides, still what the environment has done for us, in return we only have damaged and degraded it.we should take a precautionary measures to protect and save our environment.

SCIENCE

The world is full of gadgets and machinery. Machinery does everything in our surroundings. How did it get possible? How did we become so modern? It was all possible with the help of science. Science has played a major role in the development of our society. Also science has made our lives easier and carefree. With the help of science it now easier to travel long distances. Moreover, the time of travelling is also reduced.

Various high speed vehicles are available these days. These vehicles have totally changed. The phase of our society. Science upgraded steam engines to electric engines. In earlier times people were traveling with cycles. But now everybody travels on motor cycles and cars This saves time and effort.

Secondly, science made us reach to the moon. But we never stopped there. It also gave us a glance at mars. This is one of the greatest achievements. This was only possible with Science. These days Scientists make many satellites. Because of this we are using high-speed Internet. These satellites revolve around the earth every day and night. Even without making us aware of it.Science is the backbone of our society. Science gave us so much in our present time. Due to this. the teacher in our schools teaches Science from an early age.

Science taught us about Our Solar System. The Solar System consist of 9 planets and the sun. Most noteworthy was that it also tells us about the origin of our planet. Above all we cannot deny that science helps us in shaping our future. But not only it tells us about our future, but it also tells us abut our past. When the student reaches class 6, science gets divided into 3 subcategories. These subcategories were Physics, Chemistry and Biology. First of all, Physics taught us about the machines. Physics is an interesting subject. It is a logical subject.

Furthermore, the second subject was Chemistry. Chemistry is a subject that deals with an element found inside the earth. Even more, it helps in making various products. Products like medicines and cosmetics etc. result in human benefits.

Last but not least, the subject of Biology. Biology is a subject that teaches us about our Human body. It tells us about its various parts. Furthermore, it even teaches the student about cells. Cells are present in human blood. Science is so advanced that it did let us know even that.

The technology and science is getting advanced day by day. Hence whenever technology stops its advancement then science also stops it. They both are always interconnected.
