The international cricket resumed after 117 days due to corona pandemic with all due precautions of safety. In this 117 days world witnessed many challenges besides impact of corona virus, one such major was the brutal killing of George Floyd by a us police officer for using counterfeit money to buy cigarettes. The officer knelt on neck of Floyd for almost 8 minutes, where Floyd pleaded the officer to leave him as he was unable to breathe, but to no mercy from officer he later chocked to death. This was most brutal act and against humanity, many protests were done against the officer and he was even suspended.
This led to disclosure of many incidents of racism ,discrimination on color many cricketers came forward to explain how they had faced such things.
England and West Indies cricketers took a knee to show their solidarity against racism and support the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement before the start of the first Test of the three-match series here at the Ageas Bowl on Wednesday.
Cricketers take a knee to show solidarity with Black Lives Matter movement
A minute of silence was also observed before the start of play to pay respect to the victims of the coronavirus pandemic and West Indies legend Everton Weekes, who passed away last week at the age of 95.
The Premier League resumed its suspended season in June and all teams have been sending out a strong message to show solidarity with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. All teams have been taking a knee to show their support, while jerseys of all teams have ‘Black Lives Matter’ written on them.
Kabaddi is played on a 13×10 meter court and is separated into two halves by a midline. The game is played between two teams made up of seven players each. The teams alternate between raiding and defending. The raider’s objective is to go to the other half of the court, tap one or more of the defenders and return safely within 30 seconds. However, the raider must start repeatedly saying “kabaddi” before he crosses the midline and can’t stop repeating this word until he crosses back over to his team’s side. If he stops saying “kabaddi” on the opponent’s side of the court, even for a split second, he is out. He picks up one point for each defender he touches, but he must also avoid being tackled to keep the points.
This is difficult as he can face between one and seven defenders at the same time. The defenders have to work together as a unit, avoid the raider’s tap and failing that, stop him from returning. Defenders get one point for a successful tackle. Any player that steps or is forced out of the court is then eliminated. UP Yoddha represents the northern state Uttar Pradesh. The team is in its second season in the Pro Kabaddi League and Rishank Devadiga is the team’s captain. So, kabaddi is all about a body contact game. It’s basically like a rugby game. You have to be strong, you have to be fit, mentally fit and also agile on the mat. In one of interview they were asked when, what’s the atmosphere like? How much pressure was there on him as captain?… He replied, Pro Kabaddi started they were told to face the camera, the audience, and everything. It was a bit nervous at the start, but then they enjoy the atmosphere, enjoy the matches.
Kabaddi as a professional sport is a relatively new thing. Until recently, it’s been seen as more of a hobby only played outside the cities. Kabaddi was looked as a rural, rustic sport. It was a sport that was not embraced by urban India, completely overlooked the sport. The settings of the sport was such that it used to be played on dusty bowls. Kabaddi on television? Completely unheard of, “Why would somebody watch it? How are they going to present it?” And that was what aggregated people to come and sample the sport. In other sports, in cricket, for example, you have to wait for a four, or a six, or when a wicket falls. That is the high point. In soccer or football, it’s a goal, similarly in hockey. In kabaddi, every 30 seconds is a high point. It has got the potential of either being a successful raid or being a successful tackle.
The idea behind the Pro Kabaddi League or PKL started back in 1994. However, it wasn’t until 2014, 20 years later, that a broadcaster, Star Sports, came on board. The Pro League, now in its fifth year has seen considerable growth in both investment and audience numbers. From 2016 to 2017, the PKL increased its viewership in India by almost 100 million. And while it’s still second to India’s premier T20 cricket competition, the Indian Premier League, domestically, the Pro Kabaddi League is more popular than the Fifa World Cup, one of the world’s most- watched sporting events. Investment in the league has also increased. In 2017, Star Sports signed the biggest sponsorship deal in India for a non-cricket sport, worth more than $40 million. As a result player salaries have also increased. Following the 2016 player auction, the highest paid player was on just under $130,000 This year it’s $210,000. For team owners and stakeholders in the sport, more investment will help attract more young players to the game. What ultimately a sport stands on is, what does it do for its players? So, what we have been able to do is to make kabaddi athletes aspirational for sports lovers in India. Player salaries have gone up and they definitely see themselves in the front line of the committee of sports persons in India. Which means that increasingly being a kabaddi athlete will become a viable career. That is at the heart of any sport. There are also signs of the sport growing outside India. At this year’s Asia Games neither the men or women’s India kabaddi teams won gold, and the men’s team didn’t even make it to the final. Something that caught the world’s attention. Of course, we are the country who lost, which is bad for a fan, but then for our game of kabaddi, it’s an ultimate manifestation of how the game is growing.
Cricket it’s a sport that dates back over 400 years. And as of 2019 is officially played in 104 countries around the world. Cricket’s worldwide fan base is comprised of roughly one billion people in the Indian subcontinent alone makes up 90 percent of those fans. In India, the country adopted a brand new shorter format of the game has drastically cut down on playing time from days to hours. The Indian Premier League or the IPL has only been around for twelve years but it’s fast become one of the most popular and valuable cricket leagues on the planet. The IPL is brand value has nearly doubled in the last five years. In 2018 the league was valued at 6.3 billion dollars. It rakes in and 510 million dollars each year from its broadcasting rights deal making it to only cricket league in the world to crack the top 20 most valuable media rights deals in all of professional sports joining the ranks of the NFL the NBA and MLB.
So how did the IPL become one the most lucrative cricket leagues on the planet. In India. Cricket is huge. It’s been a staple in Indian sports since the seventeen hundreds. It’s currently the most popular sport in the country. The IPL is one of the richest sports properties in the world. And while the IPL isn’t the only cricket league in India it is the most successful league in the country. The 48 day annual tournament was created in 2007 with the help of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and Indian businessmen Lalit Modi. Even though cricket already had a few pro cricket leagues they wanted to capitalize on the commercial success of 2020. So they modeled the IPL in a similar nature to pro sports in the US.
The IPL was specifically modeled after the likes of the NFL. Which has a decentralized league. meaning that all teams are owned and operated independently. Also similar to the NFL model the IPL is its own league with its own unique structure. There is a separate T20 World Cup where India competes. But that’s different from the IPL. even though matches are all held in India. Team rosters are chock full of top international talent. In 2018, teams spent 94 million dollars to buy 169 players in an auction. up from its 40 million dollars for 66 players in 2017. But what you’ve actually got in the IPL franchises who represent a city a place an industrial heartland and you’ve got the full support of some major entrepreneurs. So rather than let’s say Delhi again. So, you’ve got your IPL franchises based around the cities. I’m not as actually have a massive impact. in terms of global cricket. To make sure the stands are filled with as many IPL fans as possible and to maximize TV viewership. Matches are typically played in the evening and on weekends.
The IPL is a huge moneymaker in India since 2014. The IPL brand valuation has doubled to six point three billion dollars. The reason the IPL has won the largest fan base is for a single sports league in the world. During its opening week of the 2013 season the IPL broke records when 371 million viewers tuned in to watch and by the last week of the tournament a total of 769 million fans watched the 2013 IPL season. The ad revenue generated for that season was over 276 million dollars according to Star India’s managing director. High ratings and ad dollars were a big part of why a major U.S. media companies had their eyes on IPL broadcasting rights. When the IPL launched in 2008. The league issued being your rights to Singapore based sports marketing agency World Sport group. They broadcast an IPO matches on India’s Sony Max TV channel. Under the terms of the 10 year contract World Sport group paid the IPL approximately 1 million dollars per match in its first year for the exclusive broadcasting rights. The overall value of that broadcasting deal was 918 million dollars when the broadcasting deal expired in 2017.
There was a global bidding war for exclusive rights for the IPL. Fox and Sony put in competing bids while Facebook also put its hat in the ring for the 2018-2022 digital rights of the IPL making a 600 million dollar offer. Those TV and digital rights eventually went to Fox the American broadcasters struck a five year 2.5 five billion dollar deal for the global media rights of the IPL. The price per match jumped from 1 million dollars to about 8.47 million dollars per game. For comparison the NFL cost per game is around 22.5 million dollars. The English Premier League is around 13.2 million dollars. The NBA is close to 2 million dollars and the MLB is just 630 thousand dollars per game. Just two years after the ink dried on the Fox IPL deal Disney completed a 71 billion dollar deal for Fox entertainment assets one of the assets that Disney now owns is hot star. The Indian video streaming company in 2019. Streaming service at a global record for the number of people tuning into a life streaming event.
There are 18.6 concurrent viewers watching the IPL final match on the hot star’s website in app. And with that kind of viewership naming rights for the IPL are also huge for the league. Since 2008 the IPO naming rights have changed hands three times from brands DLF to PepsiCo India and finally to Vivo a mobile handset manufacturer in China. Vivo first took over title sponsorship in 2015 and in 2017 Vivo signed a fresh five year deal with the IPL worth approximately 341 million dollars in 2018. The average salary of cricket players in the IPL jumped nearly 30 percent from the year before. All thanks to the massive TV deal signed with Fox in 2017. Before the deal, players across the league had an average salary of 3.9 million dollars but in 2018 the average salary was just over 5 million dollars. And unlike other major sports leagues the IPL season is so short that players have a chance to bank even more cash in the off season.
The IPL takes place in the spring starting at the end of March or early April and continuing through May. That means cricketers have the flexibility to play for other clubs around the world. Take the Mumbai Indians player Kieran Pollard. In 2017 he and more than one million dollars for two months. They play for the Mumbai Indians and IPL in that same year. Pollard had multiple revenue streams from playing for cricket leagues in Australia Bangladesh and South Africa. But just as cricket first spread across the world in the 18th century cricket’s latest form of 2020. Similarly. Taking root across the globe. There’s even a record breaking investment for 2020 league in a country where cricket is even remotely popular, the U.S. In May, 2019, USA Cricket received a 1 billion dollar investment from American cricket enterprises to develop a 2020 league in America. It’s one of the biggest deals for development of domestic cricket in the US and the launch of the league is set to take off in 2021 since the 2020 cricket format was introduced in 2003 and has taken the cricket world by storm. And it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
Sourav Ganguly, the captain credited for putting fire within the belly of Indian cricket, celebrates his 48th birthday today. ‘Dada who is known for his legacy, ‘God of the Off-Side’, ‘King of Comebacks’ — Ganguly has been christened with multiple nicknames by cricket fans, experts and team-mates alike through his playing career.
Ganguly took over India’s captaincy after the match-fixing fiasco in 2000 and proved to be a pacesetter who believed in youth and putting them within the line of fireside to get the best out of them. Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Ashish Nehra, Mohammad Kaif et al. are all such examples from that era. His call to ask Sehwag to open the batting in Tests changed Sehwag’s career and had a fantastic impact on Indian cricket. Ganguly was also the one who asked Rahul Dravid to wear the wicket-keepers’ gloves, at a time when India were struggling to seek out a permanent keeper.
‘Dada’ remains India’s second highest run-scorer in ODIs, with a tally of 11,363 runs at a mean of 41.02, which incorporates 22 hundreds and 72 half-centuries. Ganguly
After retiring from the game in 2008, Ganguly chose to give back to the game that made him one of the icons of world cricket. Having served because the president of Cricket Association of Bengal, Ganguly was elected because the current president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. On the other hand apart from featuring in 311 ODIs, Ganguly played 113 Tests, scoring 7212 runs with 16 centuries and 35 fifties. He never played T20 international cricket.
Sourav Ganguly, a name of confidence, audacity, a fight, a winner, and whatnot. On 8th July the former Indian captain, current BCCI president was born. But there remains short but long run with hurdles between this time which has made him from the price of Calcutta to warrior prince. In 1992 and 1996 he made his first ODI debut and test debut with 84 runs and 206 runs respectively. In a career around 15 years, the person has made a history to Indian cricket and himself stands as the testimony of success in Indian cricket. In ODI having 40.73 average scores along with 22 centuries, 72 fifties and in test 42.18 runs on average the man of Bengal learned the whole country how to fight back. The God of offside gave freedom to Indian cricket, India got back its independence again after 1947 withholding the hand of Sourav Ganguly. 1999, the most stigmatized time if Indian cricket, when everyone stepped back the person was standing there in the front with his glory of efficiency and self-confidence who hold the helm of Indian cricket. One after another challenge couldn’t stop him to run for success. India. Indian won in 21 test matches among 49. Then comes the historic win in NatWest in 2002. India started winning trophies in foreign. A man who charged up the whole team with support, safety, and dare to take the challenge. A fearless leader who secured the place of many cricketers and weaved their career in his hand. Each time he came back with his charisma startled the countrymen. A person repeatedly kept providing himself all over time. His struggle for existence has made him the warrior. A fighter who didn’t win a world cup but win the heart of millions. A man who made the way toward success. He played his last match in 2008. The last test was not the last though. The most affectionate name “dada” put a full stop himself. The aggression, emotion took retirement. But this is not the end. Now he is the president of BCCI. This is another milestone of Bengalis’ success. The first captain of the Indian cricket team from the east side not only made Bengalis proud but also proved that what will power can do. Though his career in IPL was not so fruitful. The exhaustive trial all the time somewhere compelled him to leave. He started a new era of Indian cricket where everyone inspired everyone. From where a bunch of cricket legends comes out with the crown of success. The dada of Indian cricket could compromise his place to give chances to the new. A controversial individual who knows the meaning of struggle. Today is the birthday of the 21st century’s Indian cricket. The left-handed batsman wanted to be a footballer once. Today the whole country showers bless to their inspiration. The person who took out not only Bengalis but all from the world from the dungeon. Again they assemblies to celebrate the legacy as they used to do to see the sky touching “bapi bari ja”.
After the corona pandemic brought the world and fields of sports to a standstill, cricket finally has got it’s breathing space. After 117 days, players from England and West Indies will play a historic test match at Southampton in England. With the Corona wave setting in as early as March, Australia and New Zealand last played a test on March 13. Cricket has been interrupted by war, terrorist attacks and political crises. But this series, played amid a global pandemic, will be a genuine first
Cricket would be back but the normal would be different. Covid-19 has forced crowds out of the stadium. Saliva can’t be used to shine the ball and the celebratory hugs and handshakes are too banned. Precautions have been taken all way right from the start. The West Indies squad arrived in England in early June and were quarantined and tested multiple times for Covid-19. Both the squad lived and trained under the bio-secure bubble. The number of DRS reviews has been increased and non-neutral umpires would stand-in as suggested by the Anil Kumble Committee.
How the teams would shape up?
West Indies and England had always had their bowling departments to the full firepower. Shanon Gabriels, Kemar Roach from the WI and James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer would be all set to be in action. The Batting lineups from both the teams would be up for tests. With Joe Root on a paternity leave to attend to the birth of his child, Stokes stands in as the captain. Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Sibley and Burns would form a new-look Top 4 for the hosts while Shamarh Brooks would fill the Number 4 spot for the visitors. The squads played intra-squad matches for prep and it remains interesting to see how players from both the squads adapt to the new conditions.
Squads
England: Ben Stokes (C), James Anderson, Jofra Archer, Dom Bess, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler (wk), Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Ollie Pope, Dom Sibley, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.
Rain showers are expected for the first two days in Southampton. With the new norms and regulations, the contests would be looked excitingly upon but also closely as the future, for now, stands unclear but this series could just be the guiding light for the cricket associations around the world. As they always say, Cricket would be the winner !

Yoga is a group of spiritual, mental and physical practices originated in ancient India. the modern yoga is seen as exercise to the body which mainly consists of postures or asanas. The practice of yoga has been thought to date back to pre-vedicIndian traditions; possibly in the Indus valley civilization around 3000 BCE. Yoga is mentioned in the Rigveda and also referenced in the Upanishads. Yoga gurus from India later introduced yoga to the West,[17] following the success of Swami Vivekananda in the late 19th and early 20th century with his adaptation of yoga tradition, excluding asanas. Outside India, it has developed into a posture-based physical fitness, stress-relief and relaxation technique. Hockey is one of the most popular and interesting games played in many countries. It has been chosen as the National Games of India. There are two teams in this game and both teams have 11-11 players. The aim of the players of one team is to use the hockey against the other team to score more and more goals by bowling the ball on the net. After winning our six Olympic gold medals and consistent series of matches, our country has made a great record in the field of hockey. Famous players of the Golden Age were Dhyanchand, and due to their outstanding achievements, they are known as hockey magicians.
MAJOR DHYANCHAND
Hockey is played with hockey stick and ball. Was played in ancient Greece during the East There is a lot of hockey; Such as ground hockey, ice hockey, sled hockey, roller hockey, road hockey, etc. Nowadays, hockey is usually played, hockey. Ice hockey is exactly the opposite of the field hockey, which is played in the snowy fields of Canada and North America.

Now it is our responsibility to bring the golden era of hockey back to official officially declare it a national sport. Attitude is a huge thing and small part of Attitude is EGO, Example if Attitude is a Continent then Ego is just a small country in it Attitude can be divided into two parts first Right attitude and Second is Wrong attitude people get confuse between ego and attitude because ego is the part of wrong attitude but the best part is that you can be a good attitude person without having an ego. Likewise, Every Indian is an Asian, but every Asian will be an Indian is not compulsory similarly,
“every Egoistic person will for sure have Attitude, but person who has Attitude doesn’t have Ego”.
Hence even you should be a person who has attitude you shouldn’t be a person who is egoistic or who has a bad attitude (wrong attitude) Now let’s talk about definition, Attitude shows what we think about other things How we feel and how we respond in any situation whereas Ego always allow us to think about our self-esteem and self-importance for example, person who has a Good Attitude will say No matter what happens I will win whereas an Egoistic person will say, that no matter what happens no one can beat me Good attitude person will live life as if he is the king of the world. Whereas bad attitude person lives a life as if everyone is their slave and everyone should always obey them.
Now let’s talk about today’s Book summary which is related to this Topic Author Ryan has accomplished huge successes in a very young age he was only 19 years when he became the youngest executive in the Talent Management Agency who later did signing of big rock bands, and also did consulting for many books which was sold in millions at the age of 21 he was the marketing director of an amazing Company AMERICAN PAREL. At the age of 25 he was also the best selling author everything was so perfect, but suddenly one day time changed and everything changed in his life he lost everything, he started failing in his life, he made a tattoo in his hand, he tattooed the most important reason of his failure in his hand so that he never forget that and should never repeat that same mistake in his life and can avoid such failure again.
The tattoo which he made in his hand was “EGO IS THE ENEMY” because his ego was the main and the most important reason for his failure and that reason he never wanted to forget Ryan defines Ego as an unhealthy belief which make us obsessed about self-importance. Ryan says that ego is “something which converts our Confidence to Arrogance Ego is that dangerous thing which ruins or destroys our long term goals by just giving us short term satisfaction, and by making us feel; superior from others for just for short time and such ego is not at all right”. Author says that every person in their lives always stays in one stage out of three first stage is ASPIRING, second is SUCCEEDING and third is FAILING:
Either person is aspiring, means working on something in order to achieve something in his life wanted to become something in his life.
Either person has already achieved in his life, means he already faced success.
Either person is failing in his life, he is not able to achieve anything huge in his life.
Now the biggest obstacle which stands firm in front of us during all three stages to defeat us is nothing but our OWN EGO. Now let’s see how EGO Comes between all three stages to destroy our goals:
1.Aspiring, Rohit has seen a video related to body building he loved that video, hence he decided that he will for sure become a bodybuilder no matter what happens after deciding. On first day he started posting workout pictures on social media pages by NO PAIN NO GAIN #WORKINGONMYDREAMS with this he started showing off more than his actions, he do less and show more after few days his entire motivation goes down, and he return to his normal life. Well this happens to many people and the reason for this is EGO Our Ego always makes us think what others are thinking about us therefore instead of taking maximum action for our goal completion. We started doing easy things to impress others such has we started talking more, we start uploading pictures on social media pages which in reality nor impress others not even allow us to complete our goals because in show off and talking same resources are required which is needed to complete our actual goals, which is our time, mental physical health /energy and our will power and mostly we use all these and finish it just by showing off and talking. Hence it will be best if you avoid wasting your energy on talking and in thinking about it all day, start using that same energy in taking action and in completing your goals.
2.Succeeding, at age 18 Howard Hughes took the biggest decision. He gave money to his relatives and bought 100 percent shares of his family business and became owner of that company. It was an Oil drill bit company this was the very bold decision because he wasn’t much aware about the business but still it proved to be the most brilliant move of his, Hughes shifted that company from 1 million dollar to 1 billion dollar he became very successful. His overconfidence or can say his Ego destroyed his success his ego made his career the most embarrassing the most dishonest and waste career in the history. The first huge Success of Hughes made him believe the he is very talented and he can be successful in any business, hence he get into Aviation field, film making and in stock market, and in every field he faced a huge loss in fact a biographer has shown Hughes end life in his book like he was sitting in his favorite chair naked, without taking care of his health, without bathing he was fighting with lawyers with investigators, investors by hiding his every wrong doings. So, that he doesn’t lose his everything Hughes Ego was the reason for his embarrassing end even after getting success he failed miserably most of the time when people get success, then their ego shift them from humble and learning person to overconfident person about their capabilities therefore they failed to maintain their success and hence they lose everything in their lives.
3.Failing, after many scandals and 300 million loss, company gave two options to American Apparel Founder Dove Chaney, first option to resign as a CEO from the company and to work as Creative Consultant and for that he will get a good pay or salary, and second to resign and completely leave the company at that Time Dove rejected both options and chose the third and the worst option which was to FIGHT. He filed a case against his company, he sue his company, instead of searching a better CEO for a company. He made that company to reach to bankruptcy his ego didn’t allow him to think better for his company instead he destroyed his company as well as himself because after that case his life was so devastated that he used to sleep on his friend couch because he was bankrupt, had no money. Ego is something which never allow us to understand our own shortcomings and faults just like an alcoholic who feels the whole world is doing wrong with him. He himself does the worst for himself, without realising that he is the biggest enemy of himself. Similarly, when we fail to achieve something, at that time instead of taking responsibility our ego starts making excuses starts blaming world and others our ego blames and make excuses so that our respect doesn’t decrease hence we do everything but never realize our mistakes and shortcomings because of which we fail to overcome it and fail to get success and achievements in our lives.

China’s two-time Olympic badminton champion Lin Dan announced his retirement in a social media post on Saturday (July 4), thanking his family and fans.
The news means that the 36-year-old, who took golds at the Beijing and London Games, will not be competing in the next Olympics in Tokyo.
The great Chinese badminton player was well known by the name of lindan and was loved worldwide. He ended his fantastic career by winning each and every title in the sport of badminton.
“Even after 20 years, I even have to mention goodbye to the chinese national team and It is very difficult to speak it out,” he said on social media platform Weibo.
According to the Chinese Badminton Association, Lin submitted a formal retirement application a few days ago.
Given his personal preference and his current situation, the national badminton national team accepted his retirement. “I’ve dedicated everything to the sport I love. My family, coaches, team mates and fans have accompanied and helped me through many happy times and difficult moments,” the Chinese media quoted Lin as saying within the retirement announcement.
“Now I’m (nearly) 37 years old, and my physical fitness and pain no longer allow me to fight side by side with my teammates,” he added.
Lin, arguably the greatest player in the sport’s history, also won all the major titles, including five gold medals at the world championships between 2006 and 2013 and six All England crowns.
The left-handed shuttler also helped China to six gold medals in the Thomas Cup men’s team event and five titles in the mixed Sudirman Cup.
He also helped the national side to three gold medals in team event and two individual singles titles at the Asian Games.
Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei, who lost to Lin in both the Olympic finals in Beijing and London but beat him in the Rio 2016 semi-finals, hung up his racquet last year due to prolonged health issues.
The rivalry between Lee, who lost for a third straight Olympic final to another Chinese Chen Long, and Lin was considered legendary and the Malaysian paid rich tribute to his on-court nemesis through a poem on social media, accompanied by pictures of them together as children and adults.
“We knew today would arrive, Heavy moment of our lives; You pulled down the curtain gracefully, You were king where we fought so proudly; Your final wave all four disappear”. The 37 year old tweeted.
The poor run of Barcelona has resulted in many controversies since the start of la liga and the Barcelona star is unhappy about it and is reportedly fed up of being held responsible all the time.
Lionel Messi is expected to leave Barcelona at the end of next season, according to one report in Spain, with the club’s all time top scorer fed up with the ‘lack of a winning project.’
The club’s all time top scorer’s contract is set to expire next year but he was initially expected to sign a new deal that would keep him at the club until at least 2023.
However, according to Cadena Ser, the player has now changed his mind and will instead leave when the deal ends. That’s because of leaks about his life, being blamed for things that aren’t his fault and because of the club’s poorly run state.
Earlier this season Messi, and the players as a whole, were blamed by Eric Abidal for the departure of manager Ernesto Valverde, following the loss to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa.
Messi denied that he had anything to do with the decision starting a war of words with the director of football, and his former teammate, Abidal.
Things haven’t got better on the pitch under new manager Quique Setien and it looks increasingly likely that the Catalan giants will miss out on the La Liga title to rivals Real Madrid.
Problems are mounting off the pitch for Barca and they have problems with finances, with players taking wage cuts up to 70% during the break for Covid-19.
Transfers such as Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and even Antoine Griezmann haven’t gone according to plan in recent years and the latest move has seen a club who have spent two years trying to bring down the age of their squad swap 23-year-old Arthur for 30-year-old Miralem Pjanic.
In his last few contract agreements it’s been known that the Argentinian has had a clause that has allowed him to leave the club at the end of every season, a clause he hasn’t taken the option on previously.
It’s considered more and more that Messi is carrying the club, something he’s clearly struggling to do this season, and it’s been a worry that the team have been wasting his final great years, that might soon not be their problem.
Let’s see if the Barcelona star takes up a new challenge in his footballing career or stays loyal to Barcelona till the end of his career.
Made in China. We’ve become accustomed to seeing the label on products manufactured in the world’s second biggest economy. But buying one of these products in China instead of say, the U.S., doesn’t guarantee you’re getting a better price. Chinese tourists have built a reputation for being big spenders abroad, spending a whopping $277 billion in 2018, much more than any other nationality. A lot of times, people think that purchasing something in China will be inexpensive, but that isn’t always the case. So how much of a difference are we talking? If we bring four products from four popular western brands to compare. Starbucks, H&M, Adidas store, a Godiva store. To keep things consistent, we will be using 2019’s average foreign exchange rate. The products compared are:
A standard black t-shirt at H&M.
Starbucks Grande Cappuccino.
Godiva Chocolates.
An Adidas hat.
Now let’s compare:
The shirt at H&M is priced nearly the same in the U.S. and China.
A Grande Starbucks cappuccino will cost you $4.63 in Beijing, but in Los Angles, California, $3.95.
This case of Godiva chocolates, called Pearls, is priced at $7.24 in Beijing, but only $3.95 in LA.
The Adidas hat will set you back $42.27 in China, nearly double the price of a similar hat in the U.S.
This experiment has made clear that pricing are complicated. So much so, that websites have popped up like the Mac Index, a site that compares Apple product prices from around the world. So many ads for Apple here in this area. According to an analysis done by Tech Insights, the cost to make an Apple iPhone 11 Pro is $490.50. Yet according to The Mac Index, the price to buy one is $1,318 in Japan, $1,477 in the U.S., $1,658 in Mainland China and more than $2,000 in Turkey and Peru. Prices vary across countries due to factors like demand, tariffs and tax refunds. And then there’s the supply chain: the network of people, organizations, activities, information and resources involved in the creation of a product.
Apple’s current CEO Tim Cook is considered by some to be a mastermind in supply chain. He first joined Apple in 1998 with a mandate to clean up the company’s manufacturing and distribution. Over time, he closed factories and warehouses, instead opting for contract manufacturers in China. That’s great for Apple’s profit margins, but it’s certainly not praised by President Trump, who has asked Apple to make its products in the U.S. If, say, iPhone production was moved to the U.S., instead of China, different analyses show the price for the consumer could go up from anywhere from $30 or $40 to hundreds of dollars to even $30,000-100,000. That’s partially why, despite Apple pledging to invest more money in American manufacturing, it maintains China as its hub for making its gadgets.
That’s Omar Slim, a senior portfolio manager at global asset manager, PineBridge. When you hear about made in this country or that country is really quite relative and it’s a simplification of things because it’s most likely made in a number of countries. Here’s an example. Let’s say we want to make lasagna for dinner. If Jeff cooks the ground beef and prepares the cheese, Sarah makes the tomato sauce and layers the ingredients into a pan; and Blair, who bought all the ingredients, puts it in the oven, who gets the credit for making the lasagna? Now, let’s apply that to Apple’s iPhone. While the phone might say ‘Made in China,’ some of its parts come from other parts of Asia, Europe and even the U.S. Even though an iPhone may be assembled in China, it’s still tariffed in China as a U.S. product because Apple is an American company. The brand makes that clear with by, ‘Designed by Apple in California. How they’re treated in terms of customs, they will be treated as a U.S. product. So regardless of where they come, it’s essentially a U.S. product. Same for Chinese products going into the U.S. and same for, for instance, European cars.
China became a popular manufacturing hub in the 1980s after it started to open to the world. It became known for its cheap labor costs, lax regulations and business-friendly environment. As China’s manufacturing sector grew, it took the crown from Germany as the world’s top exporter in 2010. While Made in China has become synonymous with cheap and low-quality products, China is hoping to change that. In 2015, it launched a Made in China 2025 initiative, which aims to shift its economy from low-end manufacturing to high-end, high-tech products. In 2017, Tim Cook said China lost its place as a low labor cost manufacturing nation many years ago. The U.S.-China trade war resulted in a tit-for-tat increase in tariffs on many products.
With increasing costs being passed on to consumers, many companies are looking to diversify their supply chain, instead of being so reliant on China. That sentiment has only grown, following the coronavirus pandemic’s hit on the global manufacturing industry. Along that supply chain, there will be some companies, that instead of manufacturing it in China, if they could, they could try to replace. In fact, companies including Apple, Microsoft and Google are reportedly looking into moving some of their hardware production from China to Vietnam or Thailand. But that might be harder than it sounds. The other countries will have a hard time to compete along with the fact that the infrastructure is shown that it’s quite good, along with the fact that in certain countries would not want to compromise the relationship with China.
The reality today is that a product likely has many components which are sourced globally. A phone may be designed in the U.S, but its screen is sourced from South Korea, the sensors and microchips may be from Taiwan or Germany, with its assembly in China. So, the next time you see a product with the words, “Made in China,” remember that the full story is seldom pure, and never simple.
Since the lockdown has been raised and the world is trying to live with the corona virus while taking precautions. Its been a month since football was given a green light in various parts of world but as a precautionary measure the matches had to be played behind closed doors without any audience. With the change in certain rules there will be 2 cooling breaks in a 90 minutes match including the halftime break. The players are not allowed to spit on the pitch. All the players who have started training for their respective clubs have tested negative for the virus. The previous week of football was something incredible and no football fan would want to miss it. Here we have what all happened during this week of football around the world.
Liverpool crowned Premiere League Champions.
Liverpool were crowned the premiere league champions on Thursday as Chelsea beat Manchester city by a score of 2-1. This ended the 30 year long wait of the reds to win the English Premiere League. This was the 19th league title for the reds. Liverpool still got seven games to play as they are now 23 points clear on top with Manchester city on the 2nd position. In the 31 league games played Liverpool were able to win 28 of them which prompted the Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to speak up and he said “now is our time to win the league”. It has been a tough time for the Liverpool fans as due to the pandemic there were chances of the league being called off and there would have been no declared winner on the other hand Liverpool had not won the trophy from the past 30 years but the wait was worth it as now all the Liverpool fans are celebrating around the world chanting “YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE”.
Barcelona’s La Liga title slipping away.
Barcelona drew with a score of 2-2 against Celta the previous night. With suarez opening the scoring for barcelona was a good sign for the striker as he had returned from an injury. Both the goals were scored by suarez and were assisted by messi. Everytime celta moved forward they seemed dangerous as they created many chances from the wings but failed to score in the first half. With the second half in hand celta looked to hurt barca on the counter and as they got the chance they scored to level the score 1-1 but later on suarez score another goal to make it 2-1 for the spanish giants. The twist came in the 87th minute of the match where celta had a freekick just outside the box. The captain stood up to take the freekick and scored an absolute beauty which leveled the scoreline and fortunately the final whistle was called off. Barcelona move on top of the table by just one point clear ahead of real madrid. The whites play espanyol today and if the zinedine zidane man pull off the victory they would move 2 points clear on top ahead of barcelona.
Juventus loose Coppa Italia to Napoli.
Napoli stunned the former Italian champions by dragging the match into the penalty shootout. Most of the talk was on ronaldo’s form as he was not able to make any major impact to the game. Ronaldo did not even get a chance to take a penalty as napoli won 4-2 on penalties. The Juventus coach spoke up and said “Cristiano Ronaldo is struggling to regain his famous acceleration speed after the shutdown forced by the corona virus pandemic”. After the result Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister slammed the Juventus coach and his tactics. She wrote on Instagram “what more can you do?This is it and that’s all, that’s why my darling cant work miracles on his ow… I don’t understand how you can play like this anyway … head up,my king.”
The return of football has already caused a lot of excitement, tension and controversies in just one month we look forward to the return of champions league which is expected to return on 7th of august.
