How Jack Ma inspired me!!!

Jack Ma- every 5 years we have a review for our strategy now our strategy is always to look at the 30 years and 10 years every strategic decisions we make we have to ask one question this decision we make solve society problem because we believe the biggest social property you solved the most successful you are so if we do it this cannot solve any social problems we don’t do it second is this project is going to be successful in 10 years. If it’s it’s going to be successful in 10 years let’s do it if it’s going to be successful in one year or one month normally we forget about it because why you can be successful in one year or one month.

Alibaba billionaire Jack Ma: I know nothing about tech or marketing

In the eBay model why about this model I told myself for is the gum set or a hat that will care about what the other people and the other thing Forrest Gump said nobody make money out of the catching whales people make money by catching shrimps so

We serve small business or not if you want to win in business you have to think bigger than the service or product you

They also teach all the tricks all the turns all the dips all the tosses in the air did it matter as much as the experience we provided to students every person wants to feel loved every person wants to feel like they belong but they want to feel wanted appreciated validated and see and so we’ve always at our school thought bigger. We thought about they may come in for a service but they come back and they refer others because we enrich their lives we focus on the essential human needs like love like care like belonging that across cultures across demographics everybody wants to feel or experience.

Jack Ma and Jerry Yang talk about Yahoo's big Alibaba investment ...

I love Jack Ma’s message thinking five or 10 years from now because what people are worried about let’s say right now for the next six months it’s going to come and go but what stands the test of time are the deep down worries and fears that we all share so if you want to have a successful business you have to think bigger than the service or product you provide because people may come to your dance school people may come to your coffee shop by random chance but that’s not what’s going to keep them there and that’s not what’s going to make them refer clients to you now I’ve got a special bonus clip for you but before we get to it today’s question is how have you been thinking small in your business and what can you do to change that to really make an impact on your customers.

Scientist developed a glove which can translate sign language with 99 percent precision

Scientists at UCLA have developed an innovative real-time system – a glove that translates the sign language into written and spoke words on smartphones via an app. It potentially aids deaf people to communicate directly without any intervention of translators.

The inexpensive high tech glove is developed by researchers in UCLA that works in real-time that interpret the 660 American Sign language to spoken words with 98.63 percent of precision.

The high tech glove comprises of stretchable sensors formed of electrically sensing yarn that drives along with the four fingers and thumb, then the signal travels via the miniature circuit board at the back of signal which transmits the signal wirelessly to the smartphone. The app converts these signals into the spoken word at a rate of word per second I.e 60 words per minute. The researcher team at UCLA also set the adhesive sensors so it can catch the face facial expressions which is an important part of American Sign language. Since about one million people use American sign language in the United States. The device doesn’t support the British sign language as per the current scenario.

According to the researchers at UCLA, the team behind the innovation acknowledge that innovation will make communication much easier for deaf people. The purpose of innovation is to aid deaf people. Hopefully one day they one can learn sign language and it becomes very easier for the signers to talk with none signers without taking the heal of external human translators said by the lead researcher Jun Chen an assistant professor of bioengineering at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering and the principal investigator on the research.

The researcher Jun Chen said that the expense of the parts of glove cost them only $50 and could even cost them at a much reasonable price with a large scale production. He further talked about the concept which is not new. The purpose of the team is to make it more comfortable and less bulky than other designs.

In addition, he talked about that the glove is yet a prototype and it needs to be much faster and able to understand more signs that could possibly help the deaf person in the best possible way.”Our hope is that this opens up an easy way for people who use sign language to communicate directly with non-signers without needing someone else to translate for them,” told lead researcher Jun Chen.

In addition to it he a further said that ” We hope it can help more people learn sign language themselves”.

Surplus of 300 sign languages is used by more than 70 million deaf people across the globe. If we talk about the critics view on the invention. They are not actually impressed with the invention since there are many tools available in the market to help deaf people communicate. As far as the report the deaf post-doctoral researcher Gabrielle Hodge told CNN that it would be better and so much easier if tech focused on user-driven and user-centred design.

Bombay HC Stays Multiple FIR Against Arnab Goswami

In a major landslide victory for the media and for the journalists who are rightly considered as the fourth pillar of democracy apart from the executive, legislative and judiciary, the Bombay High Court in a most recently pronounced judgment titled Arnab Ranjan Goswami Vs State of Maharashtra and others in Criminal Writ Petition LD-VC No. 37/2020 in exercise of its criminal appellate jurisdiction delivered on June 30, 2020 very commendably, very courageously and very convincingly while giving cogent reasons granted interim relief to Arnab Goswami who is a well acclaimed and well respected journalist and is also anchor and Chief Editor of Republic TV by staying the two FIRs filed by Mumbai police against him under Sections 153, 153A, 153B, 295A, 500, 504, 505(2), 506, 120B and 117 of the IPC over alleged communication of the incidents of Palghar lynching. The Bench of Bombay High Court comprising of Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Riyaz Chagla very rightly observed in this latest, landmark and extremely laudable judgment that, “Prima facie no case was made out against him.” The Bench had reserved the order on the petitions on June 12.

It may be recalled here that earlier even the Supreme Court had very rightly quashed the multiple FIRs filed in various States and had confined the investigation only to the FIR lodged against Arnab Goswami in Mumbai. The Apex Court Bench comprising of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice MR Shah had also granted him interim protection from arrest and had given Arnab the liberty to move the Bombay High Court with respect to quashing of FIR. Now Bombay High Court too has ensured that full justice is done with a fearless journalist like Arnab Goswami who enjoys an impeccable reputation all over!

Needless to say, it is most heartening to note that a  Division Bench of Bombay High Court did not dither from launching a most scathing attack against victimizing fearless journalists by observing in simple, straight but forceful language in para 67  that, “We cannot have a Damocles sword hanging over the head of journalist while conducting a public debate. India is now a mature democracy. Seventy years into our republic we cannot be seen to be skating on thin ice so much so that mere mention of a place of worship will lead to animosity or hatred amongst religious communities causing upheaval and conflagration on the streets. Subscribing to such a view would stifle all legitimate discussions and debates in the public domain.” This is a big victory not for just one journalist Arnab alone but for the entire fraternity of journalists as a whole but yes, Arnab has to be commended, complimented and congratulated for leading from the front in taking the bull by the horns knowing fully well the dangers that lay ahead!

While on the one hand, senior advocates Harish Salve and Dr Milind Sathe appeared on behalf of the petitioner i.e. Arnab Goswami, we saw how on the other hand senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Raja Thakare appeared for the State. Salve and Dr Sathe submitted that the FIRs were politically motivated with an attempt to muzzle critical voices against the Maharashtra government. Salve rightly argues in defence of petitioner that, “The transcripts of the telecast would have to be read as a whole; in other words, in its entirety. There should be no cherry picking of sentences from here and there and then say that this sentence is communal and therefrom an offence of provoking or inciting communal disharmony is committed.” It is a no-brainer that the very freedom of journalist to do independent journalism was at stake here which makes this case so all important!

While setting the background, it is pointed out in para 3 that, “Petitioner is a journalist. He is the Editor-in-chief of an English television news channel called Republic TV and a Hindi television news channel called Republic Bharat or R. Bharat. Petitioner hosts various news shows on both the channels. He is also the Managing Director of ARG Outlier Media Pvt. Ltd., the company which owns and operates both the channels.”

While elaborating on the facts of the case, it is then stated in para 4 that, “On 16.04.2020 there was a broadcast on Republic TV regarding an incident which took place on 16.04.2020 at Gadchinchale village of Palghar district in the State of Maharashtra. In this unfortunate incident three persons including two Sadhus were brutally lynched and killed by a mob allegedly in the presence of police and forest guard personnel. This incident was widely reported in the print and electronic media including by the news channels of the petitioner. On 21.04.2020 petitioner hosted a debate on R. Bharat regarding the said incident. According to the petitioner, a video recording of the said incident is in the public domain. In the debate, petitioner questioned the alleged tardy investigation into the incident and also the alleged attempt by authorities in the State Government to suppress the gravity of the said incident despite the incident happening in the presence of police personnel. Further, petitioner questioned the response or rather the silence of the Indian National Congress and its President Smt. Sonia Gandhi on the said incident and wondered aloud as to whether it was because the victims were Hindu Sadhus.”

More alarmingly, it is then revealed in para 5 that, “Following the above broadcast, a large number of First Information Reports (FIRs) came to be lodged against the petitioner in various states of the country by activists and supporters of Indian National Congress. According to the petitioner all the FIRs were filed within a short span of time based on identical cause of action and appeared to be part of a well coordinated, widespread, vindictive and malicious campaign launched by the Indian National Congress (for short ‘the Congress’ hereinafter) and by its activists to harass and punish the petitioner for making statements and allegations against the Congress and its members, particularly its present President for their response or rather silence on the above incident. All these FIRs alleged commission of offence by the petitioner under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (‘IPC’ for short), such as, sections 153, 153A, 153B, 295A, 298, 500, 504, 505, 506, 511 and120B. According to the petitioner, a campaign for his arrest was launched in the social media.”

Be it noted, it is then narrated in para 6 that, “The first of the FIRs was lodged before Sadar Police Station, Nagpur by respondent No. 3 who is a Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra and a prominent leader of the Congress party. This FIR was lodged on 22.04.2020 and was registered as FIR No. 238 of 2020.”

What is worse is that petitioner who is a journalist was himself physically attacked as revealed in para 7 which states that, “Petitioner has stated that on 23.04.2020 between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. while he and his wife were returning home by car from his news studio at Worli, Mumbai, they were attacked by two persons on a motorcycle. When the assailants were confronted by the security personnel of the petitioner, the two of them had alleged to have disclosed their identity as members of the Congress. In this connection petitioner lodged FIR before the N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station on 23.04.2020 which has been registered as FIR No. 148 of 2020 under sections 341, 504 and 34 IPC.” In addition, what is most despicable is that multiple FIRs were lodged against him in different states! This is nothing but “an abuse of the due process of law”!

As it turned out, it is then envisaged in para 19 that, “Dr. Milind Sathe, learned senior counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has questioned two FIRs in this proceeding as being an abuse of the process of law and driven by ill motive towards the petitioner to cause harassment and intimidation to him due to political animosity. The first FIR i.e., FIR No. 238 of 2020 was initially registered in the Sadar Police Station, Nagpur and subsequently transferred to N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station, Mumbai on orders of the Supreme Court where it has been re-numbered as FIR No. 164 of 2020. This FIR pertains to a broadcast on R. Bharat on 21.04.2020 which was anchored by the petitioner. It related to an incident of lynching of two Sadhus by a mob in front of police personnel on 16.04.2020 at a place in Palghar district (referred to hereinafter as “the Palghar incident”). The second FIR being FIR No. 137 of 2020 was registered in the Pydhonie Police Station, Mumbai pertained to an incident of a huge crowd gathering in front of the Jama Masjid, Bandra in violation of lockdown norms on 14.04.2020.”

To put things in perspective, it is then observed in para 28 that, “At the outset we may advert to the judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of the petitioner dated 19.05.2020. The core issue before the Supreme Court and which was the basic concern of the Supreme Court was the lodging of multiple FIRs and complaints against the petitioner in various states arising from the same cause of action i.e., the programme which was telecast on R. Bharat on 21.04.2020 relating to the Palghar incident. At the time of passing of the interim order by the Supreme Court on 24.04.2020, one of the principles that was considered was the need to ensure that the criminal process did not assume the character of a vexatious exercise by the institution of multifarious complaints founded on the same cause of action in multiple states.”

While stating the obvious, it is then stated in para 28.1 that, “At the time of hearing, Supreme Court had drawn the attention of learned counsel for the respondents to the fact that the FIRs which were filed in various states by persons professing allegiance to the Congress party prima facie appeared to be reproductions of the same language and content. Responding to this, Mr. Sibal submitted that the Court might as well quash all other FIRs and allow investigation into the FIR which was transferred to the N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station to proceed in accordance with law.” This clearly shows how a well planned conspiracy was hatched against the petitioner who is a well reputed journalist to get him wrangled in many cases!

On the question of second FIR, it is very rightly and aptly pointed out in para 28.2 that, “Supreme Court referred to its decision in T.T. Anthony Vs. State of Kerala, (2001) 6 SCC 181, where it was held that there can be no second FIR when the information concerns the same cognizable offence alleged in the first FIR. It was held that barring situations in which a counter case is filed, a fresh investigation or a second FIR on the basis of the same or connected cognizable offence would constitute an abuse of the statutory power of investigation and may be a fit case for exercise of power either under section 482 Cr.P.C. or Articles 226/227 of the Constitution.”

To be sure, this stands further corroborated by para 28.3 which states that, “Supreme Court referred to its subsequent decisions on the above issue and applied the same to the case of the petitioner who faced multiple FIRs/complaints in diverse jurisdictions arising out of one and the same incident i.e., broadcast by the petitioner on 21.04.2020 in R. Bharat relating to the Palghar incident. On perusal of the FIRs and complaints Supreme Court noted that those were worded in identical terms leaving no manner of doubt that an identity of cause of action formed the allegations levelled against the petitioner on the basis of the programme which was broadcast on 21.04.2020; the language, content, sequencing of paragraphs and their numbering were found to be identical.”

To top it all, the Bench then rightly points out in para 28.4 that, “Supreme Court noted  that petitioner is a media journalist. Exercise of journalistic freedom lie at the core of speech and expression protected by Article 19(1)(a). Airing of views on television shows which the petitioner hosts is in the exercise of his fundamental right to speech and expression under Article 19(1)(a). Supreme Court observed that India’s freedoms will rest safe as long as journalists can speak to power without being chilled by a threat of reprisal. Though exercise of that fundamental right is not absolute, but to allow a journalist to be subjected to multiple complaints and in pursuit of his remedies to traverse multiple states and jurisdictions when faced with successive FIRs and complaints bearing the same foundation would have a stifling effect on the exercise of that freedom. Though the right of a journalist under Article 19(1)(a) is no higher than the right of a citizen to speak and express, we as a society should never forget that one cannot exist without the other. Free citizens cannot exist when the news media is chained to adhere to one position.”

As if this was not enough, it is then further held in para 64 which came as a further vindication for the  petitioner that, “On an overall reading of the FIR, statement of the informant and transcript of the broadcast, it would be wrong to say that petitioner had made the statements in the broadcast with a view to defame or insult the feelings of any religious group or community. The tenor of the programme was petitioner trying to find out as to who were the people or which were the forces trying to derail or defeat the lockdown and encouraging violation of social distancing norms. A mention is made by the petitioner of the role played by one Vinay Dubey, a Nationalist Congress Party activist having tweeted calling upon the migrant workers to congregate. Though the petitioner stated as a matter of fact that the crowd had gathered near the Jama Masjid, Bandra, he clarified his statement by saying that if such an incident had taken place outside a temple, he would have said the same thing. In such circumstances, to allege or impute any communal motive to what the petitioner had commented would be a distortion of the narrative. Prima facie, no offence as alleged can be said to have been committed by the petitioner.”

Finally, it is then held in the last para 69 that, “Accordingly and in the light of the above, the following orders are passed:

(1)         This petition is admitted for hearing;

(2)         Since all the parties are represented, issuance of notice stands obviated. However, office of the Attorney General of India be notified as regards challenge to vires of sections 153A and 153B(1) IPC;

(3)         All further proceedings in FIR No. 164 of 2020 before the N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station, Mumbai and FIR No. 137 of 2020 before the Pydhonie Police Station, Mumbai shall remain suspended; and

(4)         Interim order passed on 09.06.2020 to the effect that no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioner vis-à-vis the above two FIRs shall continue till disposal of this petition.”

To sum up, this bold, brilliant and blunt judgment of a Division Bench of two Judges of Bombay High Court  has come as a big respite for all those fearless journalists who are repeatedly being targeted on one pretext or the other by political leaders, political workers, mafias and criminals! If Courts will not speak up for such fearless journalists like Arnab Goswami then who else will? No doubt, this most commendable, convincing and courageous decision of Bombay High Court has sent the right message to all such political tribe and their ilk that Courts cannot be allowed to ever become a convenient instrument or a potent weapon to silence such fearless, independent and forward looking journalists like Arnab Goswami by filing multiple FIRs in different States!

Sherlock- the ever changing phenomenon.

Celebrities and icons, they are a staple in our lives constantly being showcased no matter where we go. We grow up idolizing them, praising their works, this can make them iconic within their own fields. However, these icons can also be fictional. Many a character from TV shows and books have become common household names due to their immense popularity. But none more than the greatest detective to ever walk the fictional works of Arthur Conan Doyle, the London sleuth himself, Sherlock Holmes. More than a century after first emerging into the fogbound, gas-lit streets of Victorian London, Sherlock Holmes is universally recognizable. His wardrobe comprising of the Inverness cape, deerstalker hat and the calabash pipe. With figures such as his best friend and housemate Dr John Watson, arch nemesis Moriarty and house keeper Mrs Hudson, Sherlock and his associates have become part of the popular consciousness, as have his infallible powers of deduction utilized in the name of law along with his catchphrase “Elementary, my dear Watson”. And yet many of his most recognizable features don’t appear in Arthur Conan Doyle’s original stories. So, who exactly is Sherlock Holmes? Who’s the real “great detective,” and where do we find him?

We can often see Conan’s Sherlock speculate, guess and even make false guesses. Furthermore Mrs. Hudson is barely mentioned, never does he say his iconic catchphrase, and his sidekick spend most of the time apart and even his arch nemesis Moriarty, is featured only in two stories. His drug use is infrequent after the first two novels and Holmes is seen preferring his own sense of justice rather than being enthralled by the English justice system. Even the most iconic elements of the Holmesian legend aren’t Doyle’s either. The cape and hat were imagined by Sidney Paget, the story’s initial illustrator, the curved pipe added by American theater actor William Gillete and his iconic phrase was coined by author and humorist P.G. Wodehouse. Thus, we can see that the Sherlock we know is vastly different than the one imagined by Sir Conan Doyle. Many believe that he was inspired by his university mentor Dr Joseph Bell. But today Doyle’s version has long since been eclipsed by various different interpretations of the character, making the original virtually unrecognizable. There have been thousands of adaptations of Holmes, making him one of the world’s most adapted fictional character. This process began with Victorian stage plays and has since accelerated with the emergence of film, there were more than 100 adaptations of Holmes in the first two decades of the 20th century alone. Adding to the fact many thousands more in print, film, television, stage and radio it makes much sense that the character would take on different variations as it is played on by different perspectives. To showcase this, we can see clearly that during the WWII Holmes was featured in a number of allied anti- Nazi propaganda, with both Churchill and Roosevelt being avid enthusiasts, going so far to name one secret base as Baker street. On the other side of the coin, we see that he was adapted in German as well some being the favorite of Hitler. Another can be seen in the modern era, the vast differences in Downey’s and Cumberbatch’s portrayal of the same character. While the soul of the character stays the same, he simply dons different characteristics with each portrayal. So, the truth is that this world of adaptations has made him a palimpsest.

Sherlock is a cultural text, repeatedly altered over time as each new interpretation is superimposed over the earlier one. One can almost see Sherlock like a phoenix, rising anew from its predecessor’s ashes, thus continually evolving embodying ideas and values far removed from those in Conan Doyle’s version. But never the less, the baker street resident will forever be the greatest detective of all times, Sherlock Holmes.

India’s one of the largest Solar Grade Polysilicon Manufacturing plants is being constructed in Chhattisgarh

Incomplete Supply Chain

The construction of this plant is a major step in making India Self Reliant in the Solar sector.  India is running towards an ambitious goal of setting up 100GW installed Solar capacity by 2022. This is in accordance with India’s pledge to meet 40% of its total Energy demand  from renewable sources, made in the Paris Agreement. Though the  domestic solar panel manufacturers are ramping up their production, they still meet only 20% of the total demand. The rest of the Solar panels are imported from China due its low cost. The increased import is despite the safeguard duty imposed by the government, a step aimed to protect domestic manufacturers. However, the entire supply chain for manufacturing Solar panels is yet to be created in India. The Supply chain for Solar panel manufacturing is as follows. Production of pure silicon from sand >> Production of solar grade ingots >> Solar wafers manufacturing >> Solar module assembly. So far India does only Wafer manufacturing and Solar Module assembly o, While the other two manufacturing processes are not done in India as it is considered to be capital-intensive.

Ingot manufacturing facility

Plant details

Only a few companies are striving towards achieving this. Lanco infratech limited is one among them which is building India’s one of the largest Solar ingot manufacturing plants in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, India. The Fluor Corporation has undertaken this project to build for Lanco Solar Private Limited. Fluor Corporation is an American multinational company that provides engineering, procurement and construction services. It is also the company which built one of the world’s largest polysilicon production facilities in Xinyu City, People’s Republic of China (PRC). Lanco Solar Private Limited is a subsidiary of Lanco Infratech Limited. Lanco Infratech limited is an Indian conglomerate involved in construction, power, real estate, and several other segments.

According to the recent report by Lanco, the plant is spread across 250 acres acquired on a 99-year lease. In that, the ingot manufacturing plant is spread across 50 acres while the wafer manufacturing plant covers 12 acres and the area of the module assembly plant is 2700 square meter. Most manufacturing processes are done in a single plant.

The Anti-Anxiety Techniques That Prepare You for a Crisis

“You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you.” ~Dan Millman

One of the paradoxes of learning to cope with anxiety is that it often means you’re prepared for chaos and crisis. When everyone else is thrown by the uncertainty, you’re strangely at home because it is not as far from your day-to-day lived reality as it is to their’s.

I often joke that at a time of crisis, people with anxiety are like early adopters of the iPhone; we’re like “See, this is exactly what I’ve been telling you about!!! It follows you everywhere; it seems innocuous at first and then slowly, but surely it ruins your life.”

Whether it’s the overwhelming sense of fear and dread about anything and everything, obsessively running over hypothetical scenarios, or waking up the middle of the night furious with your partner because they have the audacity to be able to sleep soundly through the night, we get it.

For me, this journey started in 2015, after I quit six jobs in four months.

You see, I started a job that I felt underqualified for, and I spent every day waiting for them to figure out they’d made a mistake. The longer they didn’t, the more I was sure my employers were idiots who could not be trusted. So I decided to get a new job, but then I felt underqualified for that job even though it was a job I’d done comfortably in the past, and then I felt underqualified for the next one and the one after that, and so on and so forth.

Eventually, a friend suggested this wasn’t normal and that I should speak to a therapist. I did, and I was told the good news was that I probably wasn’t as bad at my job as I thought, and the bad news was I had an anxiety disorder. Given my ongoing fear of looking incompetent, it’s a trade-off that I’d probably almost still take.

Over the next two years, I read every blog, listened to every podcast, and tried every gimmick to help wrestle back any semblance of trust in my ability to win the increasing arguments I was having with my self-belief.

One of the biggest things about living with anxiety is knowing that it never goes away, but you can learn more productive ways to cope with it.

At a time of crisis, a lot of people will say, “We’re all in the same boat,” which I don’t think is accurate. We all get forced out onto our individual lifeboats; some of us are in rockier waters than others, some are lucky to have literal personal islands to retreat to.

As a stand-up comedian with anxiety, I have the benefit of being forced to put years into maintaining and improving my metaphorical lifeboat. From breathing techniques and isolation pods to hardcore psychedelics, I’ve taken them out into the lifeboat, seen it sink or swim, learned from that, made it better, and made it more comfortable.

For those of who are new to these troubled waters, let’s take a short crash course into the things you can do to help manage your anxiety.

It’s worth noting, these aren’t the only things you can do, and not all of these will be helpful to everyone, but these are the tools I turn to most often.

The hippies were right, meditation really works.

I know, I know, it’s cliché. I spent most of my twenties rolling my eyes at what I thought was hippie nonsense. And, even today, long after having discovered the benefits of meditation, I still cringe when I hear someone assume that because I am an advocate of meditation, I must also believe in crystals or star signs. And, I still can’t stand people pretending that meditation means you’ll never feel unhappy again.

But meditation does work. In particular, learning to let the early discomfort pass—to settle in and observe the restlessness and feel it naturally subside—is like weight training for your brain. Once you can do that, it is so much easier to accept that some things are out of your control and wait for them to pass.

Keep a routine.

Chaos can cause you to want to do everything and nothing all at once. It’s like trying to run faster to the finish line when you’re already exhausted. You want to do anything, anything at all to claim back a sense of control, but often, that just results in you feeling boxed in by the fact that you can’t always control everything.

When I’m anxious, I scramble for things to take up my time, make lists of lists I need to make. Somewhere in my subconscious, I think my belief is that “surely one of these things will work.” On the other hand, work done in a panic is less likely to be strategic or done well. That can add to a sense of hopelessness that is demotivating.

A routine can be the difference between spiralling and getting up and getting on with it, in the best way. Sticking to a routine means when things get hard, your muscle memory can kick in and take over.

For me, this means getting up at a regular time, maintaining standard working hours (even in times of unemployment), setting aside time to meditate and run at a regular schedule. All these things help me tick things off my to-do list without ever having to think about it. And, the feeling of achievement definitely makes it easier to expand beyond your schedule.

When it’s really tough, you can go one step further and list your tasks even if it’s “watch something new on Netflix” and “go to bed at a reasonable time.” Seeing things crossed off the list isn’t just satisfying, it’s also a great way to keep track of the fact that things are getting done as time passes.

Write things down, you’ll be glad you did.

It’s amazing how important a pad and a pen are to me as a comedian. I have always been in the habit of writing half-hour stream-of-consciousness per day. Exploring freely on paper is often the best way to churn out things deep within your psyche that you’d not thought yet, and that can make for great jokes.

The practice has evolved into something that is much more therapeutic. It allows me to express myself as often as I need to, without boring anyone with the same repetitive thoughts, and often allows me to understand the things I’m thinking that are linked to the emotions I’m feeling.

Remember to stay in touch.

It’s easy to assume that we all know how each other is feeling, but sharing it still helps. On that note, go a step further and check in on people, even people who might not expect you to do so. It’s always nice to know someone is thinking of you, and reacquainting yourself with an old friend, or getting to know a new one better, can often be a spark that leads to great positivity.

The medical professionals know their stuff.

Sleep, exercise, drink enough water. It’s all easy to forget and just as easy to neglect. The number of times I find myself in a horrible rut, only to backtrack and realize I’d been eating, drinking, and sleeping poorly, is bigger than I care to admit.

So do the basics and your mind will thank you. Also, if you find yourself having sleep problems, exercise and minimizing your drinking can help. Lastly, talking to a mental health professional can be life-changing, and I highly recommend it.

Know your triggers.

As you get to know where your head is at, you will notice certain things risk setting you off more. Make a note of these triggers and be ready to learn new ways to respond to them.

For me, avoiding macro level news helps. I don’t avoid all conversation of whatever topic I’m bothered by, but I don’t actively seek it out and try to steer the conversation into the bits that affect me and the people I’m talking to personally.

For example, while I don’t run away from conversations about the COVID-19 pandemic, I definitely avoid any long-term speculation. I don’t find it helpful; in fact, I find it overwhelming. Instead, I try to keep any conversation tied to how I am currently doing, with the restrictions in place.

It’s likely to be different for you, but whatever your triggers are, know them, avoid them where possible, and be ready to respond when not.

Keep laughing.

Don’t lose your sense of humor. Laughing about a shared struggle can be incredibly cathartic; it’s why I love comedy and how I got into it. Don’t feel guilty for wanting to laugh and being able to find humor in tough moments.

I’ve always found it helpful to learn from people who’ve traveled the path I’m on before me. And, when it comes with dealing with the uncertainty in a time of crisis, people who have developed coping mechanisms for dealing with anxiety are seasoned travelers.

And while no amount of blog posts from well-read, worldly, and totally modest comedians can ever prevent you from experiencing moments of crisis in your life, learning and implementing the steps above may just help prepare you to deal with them when they come.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

“PERSONALITY HAS THE POWER TO UPLIFT, POWER TO DEPRESS, POWER TO CURSE, POWER TO BLESS”

Every person has own way of behaving, responding to emotions, perceiving things and looking at the world.  No one are similar.

Like you like doing party but in your friend circle one of your friend like to read their favourite book. So every person has their own choice, own personality, own vision , own likes and dislikes.

Personality is nothing but the collection variety of memories and incidents in an individual’s entire life span. Environmental factors, family background, financial conditions, genetic factors, situations and circumstances also contribute to an individual’s personality.

In a layman’s language, how we behave in our day to day lives reflects our personality. How an individual behaves depends on his family background, upbringing, social status and so on. An individual with a troubled childhood would not open up easily. He/she would always hesitate to open his heart in front of others. Some kind of fear would always be there within him. An individual who never had any major problems in life would be an extrovert and would never have issues interacting and socializing with others. You really can’t blame an individual for not being an extrovert. It is essential to check his/her background or past life. It is quite possible that as a child, he was not allowed to go out of his home, play and freak out with friends. These individuals start believing that their home is their only world and they are not safe outside. Such a mindset soon becomes their personality.

Personality also influences what we think, our beliefs, values and expectations. What we think about others depends on our personality.

“BEAUTY GETS THE EYES BUT PERSONALITY GETS ATTENTION”

In a layman’s language personality is defined as the personal qualities and characteristics of an individual. Personality is how we interact with others. Personality is a sum of characteristics of an individual which makes him different from the others. It is our personality which makes us unique and helps us stand apart from the crowd.

Determinants of Personality

Following are the factors which help in shaping one’s personality:

  1. Heredity – inherited from parents Heredity refers to factors that are determined once an individual is born. An individual’s physique, attractiveness, body type, complexion, body weight depend on his/her parents biological makeup.
  2. Environment – The environment to which an individual is subjected to during his growing years plays an important role in determining his/her personality. The varied cultures in which we are brought up and our family backgrounds have a crucial role in shaping our personalities.
  3. Situation – An individual’s personality also changes with current circumstances and situations. An individual would behave in a different way when he has enough savings with him and his behavior would automatically change when he is bankrupt.

An individual’s appearance, character, intelligence, attractiveness, efficiency, style determine his/her personality.

What is Personality Development ?

Personality development is defined as a process of developing and enhancing one’s personality. Personality development helps an individual to gain confidence and high self esteem.

Personality development also is said to have a positive impact on one’s communication skills and the way he sees the world. Individuals tend to develop a positive attitude as a result of personality development.

An individual’s personality refers to his/her appearance, characteristics, attitude, mindset and behavior with others.

Let us go through the importance of personality development.

Personality development grooms an individual and helps him make a mark of his/her own. Individuals need to have a style of their own for others to follow them. Do not blindly copy others. You need to set an example for people around. Personality development not only makes you look good and presentable but also helps you face the world with a smile.

Personality development goes a long way in reducing stress and conflicts. It encourages individuals to look at the brighter sides of life. Face even the worst situations with a smile. Trust me, flashing your trillion dollar smile will not only melt half of your problems but also evaporate your stress and worries. There is no point cribbing over minor issues and problems.

Personality development helps you develop a positive attitude in life. An individual with a negative attitude finds a problem in every situation. Rather than cribbing and criticizing people around, analyze the whole situation and try to find an appropriate solution for the same. Remember, if there is a problem, there has to be a solution as well. Never lose your cool. It would make the situation worse.

It is essential for individuals to behave well with people around. Being polite with others will not only make you popular among other people but also earn you respect and pride. You can’t demand respect by being rude with people around. Personality development plays an important role in developing not only your outer but also inner self. Human being is a social animal. One needs people around. An individual needs to have that magnetic power which attracts people towards him. You need to have that charisma of yours. Personality development helps you gain recognition and acceptance from the society as well as people around.

Personality development plays an essential role not only in an individual’s professional but also personal lives. It makes an individual disciplined, punctual and an asset for his/her organization. An in-disciplined individual finds it difficult to survive in the long run. Personality development teaches you to respect not only your Boss and fellow workers but also family members, friends, neighbours, relatives and so on. Never make fun of anyone at the workplace. Avoid criticizing and making fun of your fellow workers.

One should never carry his/her attitude or personal grudges to work. Office is not a place where you can be rude to others just because you had a fight with your friend last night. Personality development sessions help you differentiate between your personal as well as professional life. It is really essential to keep a balance between both the lives to lead a peaceful and stress free life.

Personality development helps an individual to inculcate positive qualities like punctuality, flexible attitude, willingness to learn, friendly nature, eagerness to help others and so on. Never hesitate to share information with others. Always reach office on time. Some people have a tendency to work till late. Late sittings not only increase your stress levels but also spoil your personal life. Sitting till late at the office indicates that an individual is extremely poor in time management skills.

Personality development helps you develop an impressive personality and makes you stand apart from the rest. Personality development also plays an essential role in improving one’s communication skills. Individuals ought to master the art of expressing their thoughts and feelings in the most desired way. Personality development makes you a confident individual who is appreciated and respected wherever he goes.

:

  1. Keep a smart head and keep cool.
  2. Don’t Copy anyone.
  3. Create your own personal style.
  4. Don’t doubt yourself.
  5. Be An Active Listener.
  6. Learn to have patience and focus on your communication skills. …
  7. Be executive in dress.
  8. Don’t shout or be aggressive.

Fact about overnight success!

Most of the time, I think our constant quest for overnight success is a trap.

We get so obsessed on the goal that we forget that the system is what matters. We get so obsessed with the outcome that we overlook the repetitions we need to do to get there. We become so focused on the short-term results that we forget to build the long-term habits that make the real difference.

However, there are a few strategies—four of them at least—that will actually accelerate the results you enjoy without ignoring the importance of building better habits. I call these strategies “Behavior Multipliers” because they multiply and enhance your ability to take the right action on a consistent basis.

Let’s talk about these multipliers, how they work, and how they can get you closer to achieving overnight success.

The Behavior Multipliers

1. Rapid Feedback.

“The best way to change long-term behavior is with short-term feedback.” The more immediate the feedback that you get, the quicker you can make adjustments to your behavior. (This is why it’s important to measure backward.)

My friend shared a good example with me recently. He had a collegue who wanted to improve his posture. That’s a hard thing to do because typically the only feedback you get on posture is if someone tells you that you are slouching or if you see yourself in the mirror. That’s very slow and inconsistent feedback.

Instead, his client stood in an upright position with good posture and placed a piece of tape across his shoulder. When he slouched, the tape pulled just enough on his shirt so that he noticed the change. Suddenly, he had immediate feedback whenever his posture changed and it became much easier to maintain good posture throughout the day.

The most foundational aspect of a new habit is awareness. If you’re not aware of your habits, how can you expect to change them? This is why feedback is so important. Faster feedback leads to faster results.

2. Simplicity.

The best productivity strategy is to eliminate the things that derail your productivity. If you live a life with fewer distractions, it becomes much easier to take effective action.

In many cases, the danger isn’t knowing what the most important task is for the day. The danger is doing the 7th-most important thing before you do the most important thing.

Don’t just identify the 20 percent of strategies that are most effective, eliminate the 80 percent of strategies that are wasteful. When the distractions are taken away from you, it becomes much easier to stay focused.

3. Environment.

In my opinion, this is the greatest success “hack” there is. If you live in an environment that nudges you toward the right decision and if you surround yourself with people who make your new behavior seem normal, then you’ll find success is almost an afterthought.

The world around us shapes our behavior. Consider the home you live in, for example. There are many cues built into your home, probably hundreds or thousands, that shape your behavior in small ways.

  • Is there food sitting on the counter? You’re more likely to pick it up and eat it.
  • Do your couches and chairs face the television? You’re more likely to sit down and turn it on.

And it works the other way too…

  • Are your running shoes and gym shorts laid out the night before? You’ll be more likely to suit up and go for a run tomorrow.
  • Do you work at an office with healthy and fit people? If so, you’ll be more likely to see exercise and activity as a normal way of life.

Every environment promotes some behaviors and prevents others. The key is to be in an environment that supports the results you want to achieve.

The people and places that surround us fill our days with little cues and triggers that can make our habits easier to follow or harder to build. Are you fighting your environment to make change happen? Or does your environment make your new behavior effortless?

4. Ability.

If your skills in a particular area are better, then making sustained progress will be easier.

For example, if you can already do 100 pushups in a row, then developing a habit of doing 10 pushups per day seems relatively easy. If, however, your maximum is 10 pushups in a row, then doing 10 pushups per day is far more taxing.

This is also where talent and genetic potential come into the picture. It is far easier to become an overnight success in basketball if you are 7 feet tall rather than if you are 5 feet tall. Play a game that rewards your skill set and success will come faster.

Overnight Success

I still think overnight success is a myth. There’s no way to avoid one simple fact: you have to put in the work.

That said, these four strategies make rapid success more reasonable:

  1. Get short-term feedback.
  2. Simplify and eliminate distractions.
  3. Surround yourself with an environment that promotes your new behavior.
  4. Play a game that leverages your skill set.

Is #BoycottChina a realistic movement ?

The #BoycottChina which is trending on every platform across India is a movement which took birth many years ago has gained popularity once again after the recent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh. As a result of which Indian Government has banned Chinese apps in India and has put many projects with China at hold.

We never attack first its against our policies and morals, but this time we are trying to make our enemies weaker economically by boycotting its products, but we forgot in the process that we are the one who are more dependent on China, than China is dependent on us.

Today from toys which our kids play with to mobiles which we use are made in China which itself shows our dependency on it and we are not the only country which is dependent on China, there are many more. China is called as “world’s factory” because of the efficient services which it provides. There are various factors which are responsible for China’s efficiency like provision of cheap labour, easy accessibility to business loans, no compliance with health and safety norms resulting into violation of environment protection laws. Negligible environment protection laws enable Chinese firms in cutting down waste management costs. All these factors together help China in producing low – cost goods.

We are of the opinion that China is pretty much dependent on our country and its economy will tumble if we boycott its products but the reality is far more different from our imagination because China exports to India account for only 2% of its total exports and even if we Indians join hands and boycott all products imported from China it won’t make any big difference on China’s economy which we are anticipating from our #BoycottChineseProducts and China will easily substitute us with some other country which it is already planning.

The boycott movements which have taken place in countries across the globe in the past are precedent to the fact that these movements are successful only for few weeks and after some time all the nationalistic spirit fades away because the country boycotting is very much dependent on the other country and unplanned movements without the availability of alternatives prevents the country from achieving what it really desires.

Even if this movement becomes successful in our country we will be the one on the side of losses because 12% of India’s imports are coming from China across sectors such as chemicals, automotive components, consumer electronics and pharmaceuticals and sudden boycott will result into massive unemployment which is already prevalent in India.

India imports almost seven times more from China than it exports to it. In 2018-2019, India’s exports to China were $16.7 Billion, while imports were $70.3 Billion, leaving a trade deficit of $53.6 Billion. Not only this, 16 out of 30 unicorns are now Chinese funded. As per the Gateway House Report 2020, Chinese tech investors have put estimated $4 Billion into India’s start-ups.

At the present moment we don’t have many alternatives of the Chinese products we are using. In telecom sector, three Chinese firms, Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo have a 50% share of the mobile handset market. Chinese state-owned companies have bagged huge projects here. These include Sinosteel, Shougang International, Baoshan Iron & Steel, Sany Heavy Industry, Chongqing Lifan Industry, China Dongfang International, and Sino Hydro Corporation.

All this shows China’s strong control in Indian market which cannot be altered in a moment. If we really want to make this #BoycottChina movement successful, firstly we need to have a realistic approach towards this movement rather than having a virtual one. If we are expecting that this movement will change the game instantly then we are highly mistaken. Secondly, our country needs to develop alternatives of Chinese products to become more self dependent and fulfil India’s vision of self reliance and without the availability of the alternatives this movement will result into nothing but just hashtags on social media.

India’s self reliance vision is a ambitious goal which cannot be achieved overnight and by just banning chinese apps. We can only achieve it with strong dedication and consistency.

The Evil eye

Remember how we used to cover our mother earth with plastics, and now we are covered in plastics. I always used to wonder, in China when it comes to food nothing goes to waste, they eat practically everything (some we know and some we cannot even imagine). You can count more than 30 plant species in one plate of food, or you can find turtle knuckles, gelatine cubes made from duck’s blood, sea food, birds (songbirds to be precise) and yes, their nests too. The horse hoe bats or the endangered, anteater-like scaly pangolins are counted as rare Chinese delicacies. There are some viruses Mammals can tolerate but our particular species “humans” can not tolerate it. Yet Chinese people eat everything thing, it’s like jumping off a cliff knowing the danger involved.
We all are responsible for this plague’s breath-taking explosion, and all of these explain we can expect more from it. COVID-19 is a warning to brace ourselves for corrections that nature always makes when a species outstrips it’s environment. We humans took it way too far, and now there’s no going back. Isn’t it painful? Isn’t it tearing your heart apart? Our lives have been paused by the nature to correct our own species.
Nature isn’t some peaceable Kingdom from which we have strayed. It is a violent place where big things always overpower the small ones. Nature’s balance is a pyramid scheme, everything is recycled, actually works with multitudinous, little creatures are always being sacrificed to sustain the fewer but stronger predators above. In nature no larger animal’s population can quadruple in just one century, but we did it by forcing our food supply with the help of chemistry. Humankind’s presence on earth is now so lopsided that we are literally pushing other species off the planet. As we invade their habits, and poach remaining wildlife for market, their parasitic viruses and bacteria jump to the handiest species left, i.e., US.
That is how nearly 75 percent of new infectious diseases are originated and as the temperature rise, even more will spawn. With billions of us bound tightly and restrained from trade and travel, our mother earth is healing.
So, if you think “MOTHER EARTH IS TAKING REVENGE”, then there’s nothing wrong in accepting that and waiting for vindication from the evil eye!

Dealing with a Writer’s Block

Writing something requires a person to be inspired by something. Not everyone can pen a few words on the paper and call themselves an author. It takes tremendous inspiration to produce something original. But you cannot be inspired every minute of your life. There are also times when you try so hard to get inspired to write a piece but your mind refuses to cooperate. Writers sometimes call it a Writer’s Block.

blockMany fellow writers do not agree with this, however. According to them, the writer’s block is just some excuse used for procrastination, instead of actually working on writing your project.

But how can you then explain the drying up of your inspirational ink? Why do you often find yourself staring at a blank screen without any thought? How come you delete every word you wrote in the past few minutes simply because it was not up to the mark according to you?

Many people do experience writer’s block. Here are some of the strategies on how you can get back in your creative flow, adopted by many worldwide.

  1. Relax yourself

Many people find it relaxing when they dance or practice yoga and Tai Chi. Meditating calms your mind and certain body movement allows blood to flow to your brain. A few minutes of these activities will help you to focus longer and you will start with a fresh creative mind.

  1. Do something creative

Stop whatever it is that you are trying to write. Step away from your desk and find something creative for you to do. It could be painting or building something from scratch like a DIY project. It will keep your mind active and help you ease into creative mode easily.

  1. Eliminate distractions

Switch off your mobile phone and keep away from all the social media sites. Clean your cluttered desk to help clean your mind. Give yourself some space while writing. Try to write at a time when you know no one will disturb you.

block2

  1. Do free-writing

Free-writing means writing anything that comes at the top of your mind. Sometimes you have so many things going on in your life that your mind cannot focus on the project at hand. Rant on the paper about the thing that is troubling you, the thing that you wanted to say to your colleague, and the thing that made you happy today. Write about anything you want, mix fiction with scientific facts. Free-writing will definitely unburden your mind. Moreover, as the name suggests, you will feel free.

  1. Write at a time that works for you

Some people get their surge of inspiration early in the morning while they are still half asleep while others get their ideas just as they are sleeping. Some prefer to write while feeling connected to nature, maybe in a park. Find out what works best for you and try to keep your schedule free during that time so that you can write.

Writer’s block is merely a minor speed bump in the journey of your writing. Don’t let it be the end of your beautifully endless journey ahead.

VIRUS AND ITS TRANSMISSION

WHAT IS A VIRUS?????
A virus is referred as an infectious agent that can only replicate inside the living cells of an organism i.e. a virus is something which can not at all grow or replicate by its own. It always needs a living cell for its replication process. It is a microorganism which cannot be seen by naked eyes and can infect any life form. It can be infectious for humans, plants and even for other microorganisms like bacteria and archea. Viruses infecting bacteria are known as bacteriophage. Viruses are not restricted to a place and they can be found everywhere at every place of ecosystem whether land, or water or in air. They can cause various infections including air-borne, water-borne or even food-borne. The science dealing with the study of viruses is known as Virology and it is a branch of microbiology. A complete virus particle ranges in size from about 10-400nm in its diameter.
Viruses are near to dead when outside the living cell but once entered any living cell of an organism, they are forced to replicate using the life machinery of that particular organism and thus they produce thousands of their multiple copies and in this way infect the organism. Outside the living cells they are present in the free, independent form which may also be known as a virion.
There are 3 main parts in the structure of a virus i.e. –

  1. Genetic core which is also known as nucleic acid core containing all the genetic material whether DNA or RNA, but not both. It is known as genome.
  2. A protein coat, which is also known as capsid which surrounds the genome of a virus particle.
  3. An envelope which is made of lipid. It is an external coat surrounding the genome as well as capsid.

VIRUS TRANSMISSION
Transmission of virus particles is important for them to survive because as discussed above they can only replicate themselves inside a host living organism. The virus transmits from one organism to another in order to survive, reproduce and continue their species. The effectiveness of the transmission of viral particle depends on 2 main factors i.e. the concentration of virus and its route of transmission. More concentration of virus leads to more transmission.
There are several ways by which a virus particle may get transmitted from one organism to another.

  1. Blood – Virus particles can get transmitted through the blood. The one way is direct viral infection in blood and the other way is by arthropods like dengue or malaria is transmitted. Arthropods bite one organism and collect viral particles from them and then when they bite other organism, the same viral particles are being transmitted to the next organism and this way transmission and infection occurs. Another way is direct viral infection in blood which can be via direct infected blood exposure to a healthy individual. It may be transmitted via sexual contacts with infected person like HIV is transmitted.
  2. Saliva – It is the most commonly seen in kissing the infected individual. The saliva contains the viral particles and thus they are transmitted to healthy individual.
  3. Respiratory secretions – If any infected individual sneezes, or coughs or in any other way its respiratory secretions come in contact with the healthy individual, he may get infected by the same. It may also occur by singing or even breathing.
  4. Feces – This is not a very common method in developed countries but can infect those who do not take sanitary actions after using toilets. The virus particles secreted in feces can infect other healthy individuals if they come in contact with them.
