Don’t let that kid die inside you, please.

I know you must be thinking about abortion or something related to parenting thing, but, no. Don’t get yourself wrong, as we say “Don’t judge a book by its cover” the same applies here, don’t judge a blog by its title. Then why title is there, huh!

Hello fellows, don’t be so rude that I called you a fellow. I called you because you didn’t even tried to think what title is saying about. There’s a kid in every one, in every gender, in every person. Some of them just forgot about it like time forces them to forget. No! Time always take test, but, how to pass it and how to live after passing the test is always on you. You planned to forget that kid for sake of your future. So, did you got that future?? I guess not, then atleast have one thing for life time.

You are also aware of it that keep the child alive will always keep you interesting, creative and more importantly happy. And do you know why I added happy in the last, because that’s true. Happiness comes from the mysterious ways. And a child can only enjoy that other wise you may have seen an adult asking questions from where this happiness arrived.

There’s one more reason why I ask you keep that child alive, it is because I personally think that child represent your whole life. That child remains in you from starting till end of your life. No Matter how hard your life gets or how strong you become, if you couldn’t save that kid inside you. You technically failed in this life.

So, think and start saving that child inside you.

Technology and the Future of Mental Health Treatment.

Technology has opened a new frontier in mental health support and data collection. Mobile devices like cell phones, smartphones, and tablets are giving the public, doctors, and researchers new ways to access help, monitor progress, and increase understanding of mental wellbeing.

Mobile mental health support can be very simple but effective. For example, anyone with the ability to send a text message can contact a crisis center. New technology can also be packaged into an extremely sophisticated app for smartphones or tablets. Such apps might use the device’s built-in sensors to collect information on a user’s typical behavior patterns. If the app detects a change in behavior, it may provide a signal that help is needed before a crisis occurs. Some apps are stand-alone programs that promise to improve memory or thinking skills. Others help the user connect to a peer counselor or to a health care professional.

Excitement about the huge range of opportunities has led to a burst of app development. There are thousands of mental health apps available in iTunes and Android app stores, and the number is growing every year. However, this new technology frontier includes a lot of uncertainty. There is very little industry regulation and very little information on app effectiveness, which can lead consumers to wonder which apps they should trust.

Before focusing on the state of the science and where it may lead, it’s important to look at the advantages and disadvantages of expanding mental health treatment and research into a mobile world.

The Pros and Cons of Mental Health Apps

Experts believe that technology has a lot of potential for clients and clinicians alike. A few of the advantages of mobile care include:

Convenience: Treatment can take place anytime and anywhere (e.g., at home in the middle of the night or on a bus on the way to work) and may be ideal for those who have trouble with in-person appointments.

Anonymity: Clients can seek treatment options without involving other people.

An introduction to care: Technology may be a good first step for those who have avoided mental health care in the past.

Lower cost: Some apps are free or cost less than traditional care.

Service to more people: Technology can help mental health providers offer treatment to people in remote areas or to many people in times of sudden need (e.g., following a natural disaster or terror attack).

Interest: Some technologies might be more appealing than traditional treatment methods, which may encourage clients to continue therapy.

24-hour service: Technology can provide round-the-clock monitoring or intervention support.

Consistency: Technology can offer the same treatment program to all users.

Support: Technology can complement traditional therapy by extending an in-person session, reinforcing new skills, and providing support and monitoring.

Objective data collection: Technology can quantitatively collect information such as location, movement, phone use, and other information.

This new era of mental health technology offers great opportunities but also raises a number of concerns. Tackling potential problems will be an important part of making sure new apps provide benefits without causing harm. That is why the mental health community and software developers are focusing on:

Effectiveness: The biggest concern with technological interventions is obtaining scientific evidence that they work and that they work as well as traditional methods.

For whom and for what: Another concern is understanding if apps work for all people and for all mental health conditions.

Privacy: Apps deal with very sensitive personal information so app makers need to be able to guarantee privacy for app users.

Guidance: There are no industry-wide standards to help consumers know if an app or other mobile technology is proven effective.

Regulation: The question of who will or should regulate mental health technology and the data it generates needs to be answered.

Overselling: There is some concern that if an app or program promises more than it delivers, consumers may turn away from other, more effective therapies.

Current Trends in App Development

Creative research and engineering teams are combining their skills to address a wide range of mental health concerns. Some popular areas of app development include:

Self-Management Apps

“Self-management” means that the user puts information into the app so that the app can provide feedback. For example, the user might set up medication reminders, or use the app to develop tools for managing stress, anxiety, or sleep problems. Some software can use additional equipment to track heart rate, breathing patterns, blood pressure, etc. and may help the user track progress and receive feedback.

Apps for Improving Thinking Skills

Apps that help the user with cognitive remediation (improved thinking skills) are promising. These apps are often targeted toward people with serious mental illnesses.

Skill-Training Apps

Skill-training apps may feel more like games than other mental health apps as they help users learn new coping or thinking skills. The user might watch an educational video about anxiety management or the importance of social support. Next, the user might pick some new strategies to try and then use the app to track how often those new skills are practiced.

Illness Management, Supported Care

This type of app technology adds additional support by allowing the user to interact with another human being. The app may help the user connect with peer support or may send information to a trained health care provider who can offer guidance and therapy options. Researchers are working to learn how much human interaction people need for app-based treatments to be effective.

Passive Symptom Tracking

A lot of effort is going into developing apps that can collect data using the sensors built into smartphones. These sensors can record movement patterns, social interactions (such as the number of texts and phone calls), behavior at different times of the day, vocal tone and speed, and more. In the future, apps may be able to analyze these data to determine the user’s real-time state of mind. Such apps may be able to recognize changes in behavior patterns that signal a mood episode such as mania, depression, or psychosis before it occurs. An app may not replace a mental health professional, but it may be able to alert caregivers when a client needs additional attention. The goal is to create apps that support a range of users, including those with serious mental illnesses.

Data Collection

Data collection apps can gather data without any help from the user. Receiving information from a large number of individuals at the same time can increase researchers’ understanding of mental health and help them develop better interventions.

So, we can only expect the fact that there will be some boom for mental health because of technology.

How can we improve online education?

Due to the ongoing pandemic, our laptops have become our teachers. The already backward education system took a serious hit when offline schooling had to suddenly shift to online education. The lack of infrastructure and preparedness for this sudden shift has severely affected the quality of education in today’s world. The reach of the education sector has decreased largely amid the global outbreak of the novel Coronavirus. Private schools have managed to stay afloat with the new developments in this sector, however, public schools have become the Titanic in this situation. With half of the students out of their schools and having minimum access to education, how to improve online education is a topic of utmost importance. To widen the reach of education, we need to make changes simultaneously in multiple directions.

•Mode of Communication

Some modifications in our mode of communication can help reach more students. Instead of using video calling apps such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Team, et cetera which require fast internet network and attendance in real-time, switching to WhatsApp audio notes and sharing worksheets as well as pdfs which require fewer megabytes. This will help them to go over the class multiple times in case they don’t understand a particular topic and will not require them to attend a class at a particular time.

•Interactive education

After each lesson, an interactive worksheet, homework or test should be administered. When teaching a primary class, interaction works the best. Using pictures, descriptive texts, direct questions and answers, interactive graphics, et cetera would certainly engage students more into their studies. Making teachers available on call for a specific period of time to solve their queries will also encourage them to study and not give up once they fail to understand something.

•Mental Health

From old to young, all minds have been negatively impacted by the disruption of their routines, lack of human interaction leading to feelings of loneliness, uncertainty in life, fear of a newly introduced deadly virus and much more. The school going students, who are in their formative years, can develop stress and anxiety. Recent news has also brought into light suicide incidents among students because they did not have access to education and felt that their life had come to a halt, along with many other issues. In these days, mental health awareness holds more importance than any other subject. Teaching students about how to improve their mental health, how to seek help, how to identify problematic thought patterns, and other things they ought to know should be made a priority in their syllabus.

Following a more inclusive approach, to accommodate the underprivileged section of the society is a must in these days. The government should appropriate more funds to the educational sector as they are much needed to build a proper infrastructure for online education. It is the youth that is our future and it is them we should consider our greatest assets. Holistic education would lead to a better society and help in bringing about the changes that are much needed in the world.

Educate. Empower.

Social Media Anxiety!…

Every one of you must have heard about anxiety or depression or overthinking. Then what’s this I’m talking about. Most of you have faced fear, anxiety or stress in real life but what if things happening in your virtual world affecting your real life. This is what we call social media anxiety.
We are so much cautious about our virtual world. We think 10 times before posting a photo or art. How people will receive it, how will they react, will I get enough likes, I hope these photos grab many comments. Such thoughts always brew in our mind. This peer pressure put us in some anxiety.
Now if you’re an introvert and chicken-hearted preservative person, then every little thing in the virtual world might affect you. Social media is filled with every variety of people introvert, shy, extrovert, extrovert, pervert, marketer and many more. Life is all good in this world till the day we face people of different thought process other than us. If we meet like-minded people, we feel safe and happy and if not anxiety begins to develop. There is another thing which matters here the most. How you deal with all the hatred, threats, scary messages and people. If you’re headstrong and master in ignoring this shit, then you’re at mental peace. If you’re an active overthinker and even if little mess happens in this world, it will totally take away your peace. You will try to run away from this, but you’ll fail. Then sooner or later, this anxiety will occupy the space in your real life. You will be always thinking about that particular incident on social media which is not even a part of the real world. You will lose your appetite. You won’t be able to concentrate on your work. You will always feel some burden on your head. This mess is nothing but social anxiety.
So how to deal with it? Chicken hearted persons and introverts should try not to take virtual shit in the real world. Just keep it there only. The second most important thing is to make yourself strong mentally. Handle all this drama keeping your head calm. Don’t let it form a chain of thoughts which exist nowhere but your head. It will trouble only you. So just avoid going deeper into things. Keep it simple. Even after taking all the care, some mess happens and it’s affecting your real life, then talk to your closed ones. Don’t hesitate to open up. Talk to them. Tell them what you feel, what is affecting you. This will make you feel you’re not alone. You will have someone with you. One more thing, don’t fear if you’re not wrong. Make time for meditation, keep yourself busy. Keep phone as a PART of your life only. Don’t make it your life. Your life is much bigger and better than that. Hold yourself. Focus on things which will make you grow as a person. Take criticism as a chance to improve yourself. Free your heart from self-created destructive thoughts. Make yourself a priority before anything in virtual world.

Yoga : Morning breakfast and Evening supper to the Body and the Soul

Educational News

In the present times, everyone is just running all the time. Whether the person works in an office, or he or she is a home maker or a student too, everyone is so busy in their daily schedule that hardly few people extract time for their physical and mental self. Along with advancements in the field of technology, there are advancements in the diseases too. New diseases are taking birth and troubling the humans.

Individuals post on social media and say ‘Back to Basics’, without even knowing its true meaning. People think that being back to basics means that living a life in a remote area and eating the forest products. But returning to basics in true sense means living in the same surroundings and adopting the good techniques in life to make it disease free and simple too.

For the Indian people, from the ancient times ‘Yoga’ was a very good way to explore the inner self and finding peace of mind. But, the mentality of the people is just going to an air conditioned gym and spending huge amount of money on gym and the protein supplements. Whereas, Yoga is such a simpler exercise that anyone can do it at their place just with a mat beneath them and some time.

Yoga evolves from the Yoga Sutras which were written by Patanjali. Patanjali was a sage in India who is the author of many Sanskrit works including the most important, The Yoga Sutras. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are a collection of 196 Sanskrit sutras (aphorisms) on the theory and practice of Yoga. The Yoga Sutras were compiled sometime between 500 BCE and 400 CE by Patanjali in India who synthesized and organized knowledge about yoga from much older traditions.

Swami Vivekananda was the first person to promote and encourage Yoga at the global level. He published a book called ‘Raja Yoga’ in America in 1985 where he wrote about the productivity and the benefits of yoga for an individual. He took references from the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and told the world about the physical, mental and spiritual influence of Yoga in an individual’s life.

Doing Yoga practices early in the morning at the time of sunrise or after it and in the evening too is so beneficial for the body. Asanas in Yoga helps to cure Vata, Pitta and Kapha defects of the Human body. In the physical body, Vata is the subtle energy of movement, Pitta the energy of digestion and metabolism, and Kapha the energy that forms the body’s structure.
The most beneficial Yoga Asana is the Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation). Under this asana, different other asanas like Pranamasana, Hasta Uttanasana, Hasta Padasana, Ashwa Sanchalanasa, Chaturanga Dandasana, Ashtanga Namaskara, and Bhujangasana. Various other Asana in yoga like Kapaalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, Brahmari, etc which are so helpful for the body.

There are various videos of Yoga teachers teaching Yoga Asanas on Youtube and there are students too pursuing graduation and post graduation in yoga who teach it to others around them. Practicing Yoga and doing it daily afterwards all by self will help an individual to get rid of different types of physical and mental disorders. There is OM chanting too in which the Yogi (person doing Yoga) chants OM, in which there is a practice of breathing along with acquiring spiritual peace at the same time.

At present, the most influential promoter and the best instructor of Yoga is Swami Ramdev. Swami Ramdev is instructing people Yoga in India and all across the globe since 2002. He is the co-founder of the Patanjali brand producing different Ayurvedic products that are useful for the Human body.

Yoga is being practiced by children right from the age of 3, and also by the elderly people of age 65-70 and even more. It is a symbol of Indian culture as it evolved from India. Indians should necessarily know that what Yoga is and how it is performed. It is the reason behind the sharp mind and a healthy body. Not only children, middle aged people and elderly people but the younger generation which is contributing each day a lot in the economy, should practice Yoga each day so that they can tell this precious art to the future generations.

For a sound body, sound mind and a sound nation, Yoga is the only solution”

Peace, can it be achieved or only experienced?

“Don’t stay awake for too long
Don’t go to bed
I’ll make a cup of coffee for your head.” This goes perfectly for the mind peace with a slightest change that if you are a tea fan then replace it with coffee.

You know, it should be on Guinness Book for the most searched thing in the world.

I’m not saying that, i have got that.. no, and how can I get that when I’m living in the same world where you all are??

But, I know something which you should also know. Peace is something which can be never found, but always experienced. It can be never achieved, but, it can be shared.

Like, for a moment something happens which makes you happy, and you start dreaming of the life which is full of happiness. No, it’s not wrong, but what happens when for a moment you experience sadness. Do you think same or do, we think same??

No, we want that moment to pass as soon as possible and happiness to re-enter our life. And that’s wrong.

Gautam buddha said “When there’s wants and desire of something in your mind, peace can never make home there”.

Ok! But, aren’t we humans, it’s our work. Without wants and desire, how can a human live?? Does that mean humans are never going to find peace??

No, we can and someday we will, at least one of us will. All we have to do is live both the moments, happy and sad. That’s all, when we are ready to accept Whatever life is giving us to live and learn. Then we can have the Peace.

In a simple words, we can have our wants and desire because we are humans, but first we should have what is needed. Then only peace can make it’s home in your mind.

Now, how to know the difference  between wants and need. There’s always a simple example for that , you want to have 4-5 chapati but all you need was 3-4 chapati. Then why extra? For saving purpose? Come On that chapati will be thrown out in last if it didn’t get utilized in the required time, and it goes not just with chapati, it goes with every thing.

Like Gautam Buddha had an empire to run, and a family to see.. but he did what he was needed at that moment or in that era.

So, focus on the thing you need first, then when you achieve that, you will experience peace in your mind and then again you will go for wants but that’s acceptable because life goes on with thoughts and wants, but always go for need first.

Leave your views down below on this topic and tell us more what can be done to have, that peace for a moment.

See yaa.

My Brain Needs You, Pal!…

Linda used to study in a law college. She was an all-rounder. She was good in academics, good in sports, good in extracurricular activities, good in student’s council. She was very famous in her campus and everybody loved her. She had a lot of friends. One day, she was chilling in the canteen with friends. During the conversation, she told them that she is seeing a therapist(psychiatrist) and BANG! All her friends became silent. Everybody escaped from the canteen one by one. Linda couldn’t figure out what was going on. Looking for an answer, she went home.
Linda was going through extra stress and anxiety, that’s why she was taking the treatment.
The next day, Linda reached her friends and tried talking to them but nobody gave her a response. They walked out in front of her. Nobody was talking to her, she was left alone. She felt so bad as she wasn’t at all used to it. She was a talkative human and everybody loved her, but now she was left all alone. This went on for a few days and then Linda stopped coming to college and to her disgrace, nobody even blinked an eye. Then, on one worst day, everybody received the news that she killed herself. Now each of her so-called friends was feeling bad and mourning on social media. But it all remained with if’s and what-ifs!..
Everyone reading this must be feeling sad right now. But it’s the truth we all know. This happens with all of us, maybe with us or we act like this to others. We leave our friends and loved ones in the time when then need us the most. When I was at home, our old classmate joined our flat and within a day or two, my roommates threw him out of the flat. He was suffering from some mental illness and everybody got scared keeping him with them. The friend who was with us for 4 years was left alone when he was ill and later he was admitted. I felt very bad when I came back. Someone really close to me was going through such illness, so I knew it very well. If we have a fever or some physical disease, then people visit us asking for our health, the family takes us to the doctor in time. But when it’s about mental health, everybody tries to avoid it. The family try to hide it, friends stay away from us when they get to know and in this mess, treatment gets late and disease takes over the person. There are many mental conditions such as depression, mania, schizophrenia, and this can happen to anyone. Yes in very few cases, it is genetical but in most of the cases, it gets triggered because of real-life events. Most of the patients get treated well and win over the disease if handled well and within time. Now many will ask me, yes you’re right but how can we help them as we don’t know anything, then why should we take the blame later getting into it. So guys remember the time before the disease when this friend stood by your side in worst situations and now it should be your turn. I feel anyone will prefer helping them rather than mourning when they’re gone.
So what can you do? Just be there for them. These diseases don’t rise in a day, they do take time. We just need to keep an eye and observe our loved ones. Anxiety, stress, overthinking, lost attention in work, lost appetite could be the symptoms. If we could catch it early, then we will win for sure and if ignore it, then it might get fatal. We just need to be there for them, boost their confidence, keep them busy, surround them with positivity and positive thoughts. Meditation plays a magnificent role in conquering these diseases. Today it’s your friend, tomorrow it might be you. Control these diseases before they start controlling your loved ones. Make brain your friend, not the enemy. Take the pledge that you won’t ignore your mental health. The most important thing, let’s heal them with love and affection and not hatred. MENTAL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT, DON’T IGNORE, HEAL YOURSELF!…

Depression : a myth or a serious problem ?

What is depression

Most of the time people feel sad or depressed. It’s normal reaction to loss or struggles in life. But when this sadness become intense – including feeling helpless, worthless , hopeless , lack of self esteem and lack of confidence – last for many days to weeks and keeps you from living your life happily, it may something more than sadness. You could have clinical depression – a treatable medical condition.

Symptoms of depression

Depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can conclude:

1. You can’t sleep or sleep too much almost every day,

2.  You have almost no interest or pleasure in many activities nearly every day,

3.  You’ve lost or gained weight.

4.  You feel restless,

5.  You often think about suicide or death,

6. You feel tired or lack of energy,

7.  Loss pleasure in life,

8.  Have sad, anxious or empty feelings.

Physical signs of the depression

There are some physical sign of the condition they may include back pain, joint pain, digestive problems, sleep trouble and  breathing problems. At any one time it is estimated that more than 300 million people have depression – about 4% people of the world’s population when the figures were published by world health organization (WHO) in 2015 women are more likely to be depressed than man.

Treatment

The WHO estimates that Fewer than half of people with depression are receiving treatment. Many more will getting inadequate help, often focused on medication.

The most common therapy is congnitive Behavioural therapy, which breaks down overwhelming promotion into Situations , thoughts, emotions, physical feelings And actions try to break a cycle of negative thoughts.

If you or you know someone who has symptoms of depression, talk to your doctor. he can evaluate you And offer you treatment or refer you to a mental health professional.

Conclusion

While there are more and more treatments for depression. The problem is rising not falling.

According to a research , From 2005-15 , cases of Depressive illness increase by nearly a fifth. People born after 1945 are 10 times more likely To have depression this reflects both population growth and a proportional increase in the rate of depression. Among the most at- risk ages. the WHO said.

A key reason for the Continuing rise in depression cases Is that drug is that drug not necessarily “cure” the patient. And other therapies that can make the crucial difference are not in sufficient supply.

So we have conclude that we should openly talk about depression illness and it’s symptoms we should not take it lightly or as a myth. Mostly in Indian society when anyone is suffered by depression insted of helping the person, we considered that person as mentally disabled. We need to understand that depression is Simlar to cold and fever if anyone is needed is just the right treatment.
