World of Wong Kar Wai

“He remembers those vanished years. As though looking through a dusty window pane, the past is something he could see, but not touch. And everything he sees is blurred and indistinct.”

In the Mood for Love

If you are familiar with Wong Kar Wai’s work you know by now from the above dialogue what I’m talking about. And the reason I started this article with a dialogue from this movie because it symbolizes something and that is the style of Wong Kar Wai’s cinema whose prominent theme are often about time and inevitability. Often capturing a distinct separation or a missed opportunity.

Being a perfectionist, Wong Kar-wai has only directed a few films in his long career. But it is safe to say that he is one of the few filmmakers who have never made a bad film.

Here is the list of Wong Kar Wai’s movies that you must watch. Let’s start off the list with his magnum opus:

In the Mood for Love (2000)

Set in Hong Kong in 1962, “In the Mood for Love” stars Tony Leung as Chow Mo-Wan and Maggie Cheung as Su Li-Zhen. This is a film about a possible affair between two neighbors who discover their spouses are sleeping together. But it’s also, and perhaps more importantly, a film about the aftereffects of an affair that’s already occurred and is still occurring off-screen. In the Mood for Love is a complete work of art that is both dreamy and grounded in every sense.

Chungking Express (1994)

This 1994 masterpiece, a two-sided view of life in Hong Kong in the 1990s that would become one of the defining works of its era, was Wong Kar Wai’s international breakthrough. Chungking Express is more of a love letter to Hong Kong than a traditional romance which is told in two parts. Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung play Hong Kong cops looking for love and connection in one of the world’s busiest cities. Even though for some reason people prefer the second part of the movie, but it’s safe to say that neither halves would be so good without the other. Both halves of “Chungking Express” are required to provide a complete vision of a city in which people can be close enough to feel at home but too far away to touch. Chungking Express is one of those films that you can watch again and again, but still can’t get enough of it.

Fallen Angels (1995)

Fallen Angels is sort of a spiritual sequel to his 1994 masterpiece ‘Chungking Express’. Even he suggested the mentioned movies can watched as a double feature and experience will remain the same. In this movie, Wong Kar Wai explores with overlapping storytelling once more, but this film is renowned more for its visuals flair, a frenzied, wide-lensed experience that drew analogies to 1990s music video culture. In the end, “Fallen Angels’” messiness is what makes it most satisfying; the film’s tangled turmoil allows its survivors to discover a sense of hope in one another.

Happy Together (1997)

If some audiences found Wong Kar Wai’s “Fallen Angels” a touch too detached, he followed it up in 1997 with one of his most emotionally powerful films, a romance starring Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung as a couple travelling across Argentina. A relationship between the sensible, calm Lai and the disruptive, non-monogamous Ho, on the other hand, is doomed to fail. Wong Kar Wai brings beauty to a tragic story of a troubled relationship between dissimilar personalities in a way only he can, using a non-linear, disconnected storyline combined with his unique styling. Everything about Happy Together is familiar to fans of Wong’s earlier films, and yet everything is also different.

2046 (2004)

A lonely author writes novels about a train departing for 2046, a destination where people go to relive their lost experiences. Except for the writer, no one has ever returned from the location. “Love is all a matter of timing,” says a film in which time is deceptive, elliptical, and continuously calls back and forth. Nothing is more beautiful than something that has never been fully realized. Every time you see this film, it just makes you feel that you are a part of it, you feel the nostalgia, the pain and the unrequited love.

Enjoy your Wong Kar Wai movie marathon.

DREAMS AND REALITIES

People Who Live Without Dreams. Insights of the people who don't have… | by Vinod Sharma | Live Your Life On Purpose | Medium

“History has proven that those who dare to imagine the impossible are the ones who break all humans limitations”

Your dream is the reason for the way you are. Your dream is not a coincidence. Your dream IS who you are. You SHOULD pursue it. Your dream gives you a sense of meaning and purpose, and drives you on into your chosen future. Your dream IS the meaning of your life.

Every person dreams to become something, to do something, to make the name of his parents and family proud with pride.
Some dreams are fulfilled and some remain unfulfilled, but this does not mean that you could not achieve anything in life. A human being should try their best with all dedication, whatever the outcome may be.

In the Bhagavad Geeta, Lord Krishna has given the same instruction that a person should do his work without worrying about the result.

Everything teaches us something, whether it is a success or whether it is a failure. On one hand, where success gives us courage that if anything is done with a true mind then nothing is difficult and on the other hand, failure teaches us to be patient and persistent. A man should learn from his mistakes because there is no better teacher than mistakes. No effort ever goes in vain, with every effort made we get a new experience that helps us to move forward. This life is a school where a person learns at every step. The process of learning goes on till a person dies. Difficulties come in life to make us move forward, to make us strong. We should not be afraid of difficulties and should face them boldly.

Steve Keating on Twitter in 2021 | Dreams come true quotes, Chase your dreams quotes, Dream of you quotes

Everyone should dream and try their best to fulfill them. Every effort made moves us towards our destination. In order to fulfill dreams, one should be patient and must have believe that you will do something good in life, it is very important to have this kind of attitude in the achievement of your goals. It is not necessary that you get success in the first attempt, sometimes a person has to make continuous efforts. I know all these things are easy to say but it feels like a shock.

The more you pursue your dreams, the more exciting your life becomes.
God is going to use you in ways you never imagined possible. And the only side effect is: feeling GOOD!

So, here are some ways which can help to make your dreams fulfilled :

Skincare: An Essential or A Scam?

I was one of those few God’s favorites who had clear skin and perfect hair during my early and mid-teens. To my horror, my late-teens turned out to be a can of worms when I started getting oily skin, breakouts, acne, frizz, dandruff, hair fall, and what-not.

One of the main misconceptions about having oily skin is that people advise you to wash your face often to keep the oiliness at bay. Not knowing better, I followed the routine religiously. My mom and my grandma recommended some DIYs that could potentially benefit my skin. So, I tried putting lemon, baking soda, cinnamon powder, and other nasties to restore the natural oil balance. I never applied moisturizer or sunscreen for fear that it may make my skin oilier. I basically went all the way out, trying to get back my perfect skin. Unknowingly, I did more harm than good.

Fast forward to my days in college. I was tremendously insecure about my never-ending acne while all the other girls flaunted their flawless skin. I started wearing makeup in hopes that it would conceal my blemishes and imperfections. Again, I did not follow the correct methods in applying or removing the makeup.

I finally gave up thinking that perfect skin was not for me. I reverted back to my old ways when I let my skin do what it does naturally. It did not improve my skin, but it did not worsen it too. This was the time that I came across an Instagram page of a skincare blogger. Despite my skepticism, I was curious about what she had to say. I browsed through her feed. Based on her experience and reviews, I figured that she knew what she was talking about.

I messaged her and told her about my woes. She recommended that I start off simple with a mild cleanser, a moisturizer, and sunscreen. I decided to give it a try. What did I have to lose anyway? To this day, that was the best decision that I had ever taken.

After noticing a few positive changes in my skin, I researched various products. I desperately wanted to get it right this time. I thought a skincare routine might seem like high maintenance, but it really wasn’t. I learned that investing early in skincare could have lasting effects. Besides, less is more. It is vital to not layer too many products. Skincare makes you age gracefully. As we know, prevention is always better than cure. So, why take chances with your skin?

The basic skincare regimen consists of only three steps: cleanse, moisturize and protect against the sun. It is necessary to invest in a mild cleanser, a hydrating moisturizer, and a sunscreen having an SPF of at least 30. The first step is to identify your skin type and your skin concerns. The next step is to know the layering of your products. The final and crucial step is consistency. After following this routine initially, you can build on it using toners, exfoliators, serums, face masks, facial oils, etc.

Skincare is not an overnight miracle. It does not provide a temporary fix but gets the ball rolling to healthier skin. Patience is the key to seeing good results. You have to test different products to find which works best for you. To commit fully to having healthy skin, you should be ready to invest your time, energy, and money.

Every skin is unique. The same product can give different results for another person. A bad experience with a product does not signify that it is not a quality product. Based on your age, allergies, expectations, skin needs, preference of a fragrance or a texture, the results and experiences vary.

The billion-dollar skincare industry is growing steadily every day and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. For the most part, it consists of fraudulent and deceptive claims. A new brand launches a new product every hour. The industry thrives by feeding on your insecurities and flaws. Even though we don’t need most skincare products, the companies persuade us to buy more and more products. But, that does not mean that the entire industry is a scam. Ultimately, it is in our hands to not fall prey to the scamming leeches and invest in the right products.

Skincare changed my life for the better. It boosted my confidence and made me feel comfortable in my own skin. “Perfect skin” does not exist. Instead, healthy skin is what we should strive for.

The end of an era: Analysing Brooklyn Nine-Nine

After running for eight wonderful years, the creators of Brooklyn Nine-Nine have announced that they will be airing their final season in August of this year. After shooting nearly 150 episodes, the show has called it quits.

The show boasted of an impressive cast with SNL legend Andy Samberg, the hilarious Chelsea Peretti, the talented terry crews, the award-winning Andre Braugher, and several others. The premise of the show revolved around the lives of the detectives at the 99th precinct in Brooklyn. Watch Full Episodes | Brooklyn Nine-Nine on FOX

Not only did they have a talented cast, but it was also a diverse one. Out of the 9 main cast members, only 4 were caucasian males. Melissa Fumero plays Amy Santiago, an aspiring captain. The show follows her journey and we can only hope she achieves this goal in the final season.

The most amazing thing about the show was the way it addressed social issues while still maintaining a comedic tone. Covering issues such as racial profiling, sexual harassment, and homophobia, the show never shied away from uncomfortable topics. The elegance with which these topics are handled is truly respectable.

The eighth season will air in August and will be covering recent events such as the murder of George Floyd and the Covid pandemic. Hopefully, we’ll see more of Cheddar too!

Indian Indie

This article is my appreciation for the Indian Indie artist and their music which has healing powers like no other. Great lyrics are the main asset in these songs, these lyrics have a deeper meaning and so you have to listen to them carefully to get the most surreal experience. The music might only contain a guitar or a ukulele or a piano at a time instead of the whole group of musicians but once you hear the songs you would surely listen to them on loop because it soothes your soul and calms your mind.

As these artists work independently, they are free to be as creative with their art as they want and so their art reflects their creativity which sometimes can get suppressed in Bollywood music

Here are a few songs I’d want everybody to listen. (There are many other great songs of the same caliber that I could not mention in this list.)

  • Yahaan Koi Nahi (Punit Singh):  If you’re an introvert you should give this song a listen. This song has a major feel-good vibe but you must listen to the lyrics carefully because that’s where the essence of the song is. After listening to this song you would be assured that you are not the only one who feels lonely.
  • Khud Se (Osho Jain): This song will pluck the strings of your heart one by one. This song will make you realize that maybe it’s you who does not love yourself enough and that is why you think that others do not love you.
  • Waqt ki Baatein (Dream Note): Dream Note has done marvelous work to get you through the hard phase of your life, it gives you hope that everything will get better if you give it time, time heals every wound.
  • Musafir (Arjit Anand): Musafir is a song that asks you to take a pause and enjoy the present moment and the little joys of life. The voice and the music are soulful and soothing.
  • Shaayad (Taba Chake): This song will lift your mood instantly. His voice and the music work their ways through your heart and for 3 minutes you will believe that no setback can stop you from achieving your goals.
  • Tum Jab Paas (Prateek Kuhad): There are many beautiful songs by Kuhad but this one transfers you into Utopia with your loved one. Imagine camping, bonfire, fairy lights, this is where you’ll be mentally while listening to this song.
  • Dil Mere (The Local Train): This Hindi Rock Band has released great songs and this is one of them. Dil Mere has great music and vocals and one could instantly fall in love with this song.

Indian Indie artists and their music should get much more appreciation than it gets now because these artists have the ability to connect with their audience emotionally. Listen to these songs and explore others like them, listening to these songs could have a therapeutic effect on your mind.

My fellow murder mystery junkie, I’ve got your alibi!

Experiences are always fun to talk about, right? Let’s do a quick refreshing. Adventure, gut-wrenching, adrenaline gush. Try to map these three words to a single entity. Your mind, involuntarily would picture the obvious risk driven bungee jumping or skiing or other such outdoor activities. What if I told you, all I can picture is a cozy couch and a cup of steaming coffee? This sounds calm, not dangerous, you may think. But beware, a good murder mystery or a thriller book clutched within your hold, can shake the living hell out of you!

What happens physically when reading a murder mystery?

Without moving an ounce of your flesh, you get to experience a whirl wind of emotions. Reading a thriller book gives you the best experience. These sort of books give us a unique sensation that books of other genres can never do. They are all packed with suspense, waiting to burst within the hands that  pick them. Let me explain you what happens when you reach the core of a thriller book:

The back of our throat wanting to fill with bile, our stomach flutters, lungs struggle to get more air, our heart racing at a tremendous 120 km/hr. speed. Amidst all this, our brain trying to declutter the plethora of meaning underlying in a single sentence while at the same time, convincing our body that we our still positioned at our room’s couch, not on a wild goose chase of a psychopath of our imaginative, yet so realistic world.

Huh, I am gasping for air for just typing this out!

In addition to the chaos and turmoil bubbling inside, we can actually feel our hands go numb and our spine getting chilled. Its absolute wonder that a mere combination of 26 alphabets of a language can give you such trills. It is an amalgamation of so many things: excitement, terror, horror and what not?

Sonder

Apart from the train of random feelings, and a rollercoaster of emotions, these books actually provide a deep unfathomable impact and realization of the complexity of life. There exists a beautiful word in English for explaining this feeling and from the moment I heard it, I fell in love with it. Sonder.

sonder meaning
Sonder: Meaning

Movie or book?

Many a times, you may argue that a movie adaptation of a thriller book can give you the same experience. Let me tell you, you will miss one major escapade which can be experienced only by reading books, and not visually seeing a movie adaptation of the same.

When we see a movie, we do not give our brain enough time to contemplate what is going on. We adapt to the perspective of the director instead of developing our own. But when reading about the vivid description of a place, or about the character build, our brain gives life to the book. It tries to imagine the place, gives a face to the character and adsorbs the essence of the scene. This virtualization becomes impossible when we watch a movie as that work is already being done for us.

The good and evil within

Good and Evil
Good and Evil

Thriller books and murder mystery books keep us guessing about the suspects and without our knowledge, our mind penetrates into the mindsets of both the protagonist and into that of the villain. This introduces us into the duality of the human mind. We astonishingly try to relate with the good and the bad simultaneously. We try to seek justice for the light and the dark, putting us in a unique juxtaposition.

We are like water, taking the form of whatever we are poured into. It is up to us to stay true to who we are and lead our life absorbing the positive vibes only. So apart from the unique experience, thriller books also convey a beautiful truth about life, good needs evil to survive. Without mistrust, you will not grasp onto faith. Without rain, you will not appreciate the sun. So put your faith in the right things, lead your life with happiness. My dear fellow crime junkie, I’ve got your alibi (Wink).

Good and bad is not black and white but a million shades of grey.

Engaging activities for the lockdown period

The lockdown period bothers everyone especially when all the social gatherings and meet ups are halted. We get plenty of time in our hands. This is the time when we can learn new skills and brush up the old ones. So why not look out for some interesting and productive activities which can be carried out even during lockdown.

>Catch up with old friends

It’s a great time to catch up with all the friends and family members you haven’t talked in a while. Chat with them on video call, play online games or just plan an online get together.

>Read books

Treat yourself with a good book. Reading is not just a great past time but also a productive activity. Read to get inspired or simply to learn something new and advance your vocabulary. Look for some good and easily accessible e-books.

>Get an online internship

During the time of lockdown on-site jobs and opportunities might not be possible but a virtual internship might prove beneficial. Many companies, associations and organizations are providing online internships to individuals which can be done from home. Look for the best suited internship for yourself. This might later help in grabbing good job opportunities post lockdown.

Anne with an E | a masterful retelling

Anne with an E': The best moments between Anne and Gilbert – Film DailyBased on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s popular series Anne of Green Gables, Netflix’s Anne with an E was incredibly well-received. The show follows the story of the adoption of orphan Ann(e). She is wide-eyed, optimistic, dramatic, and we’re here for it. She is the harbinger of joy and color in the otherwise unexciting lives of Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. The books follow her misadventures, her friendships, and her purple prose. More lighthearted than the show, the books generally focus on Anne’s development as a character and the change in the mindset of the people of Avonlea towards orphans. Anne of Green Gables (Anne Shirley Series #1) eBook: Montgomery, Lucy Maud: Amazon.in: Kindle Store

The show, on the other hand, tackles several social issues such as racial prejudice, sexism, slavery, something the books shy away from. It also vividly portrays the trauma that Anne previously experienced while working as a “nanny”, as well as how that affected her as a young girl.

While the show takes generous liberties with the narrative, it does so in an extremely refined manner. Text-to-screen adaptations tend to fail spectacularly on this front, with the adaptations being borderline unwatchable. The creators remain true to the characters with everyone having their own arcs.

Even when adding new plot points and characters, it makes sure that they are well-developed and not hasty additions made to fill a quota or made to call the show “original”.

Both the book series and the show have left an everlasting impact on me. They are both perfect coming-of-age stories, with the show adapting the narrative to fit the modern context.

Unusual jobs we never knew existed

If the usual nine to five jobs sound boring to you, there are a plenty of unusual, interesting and never heard before jobs- jobs which don’t involve in office time at all.

Being introvert

An introvert is often thought of as a shy, quiet, calm and reserved individual having minimal social interactions. Social engagements and special attention are not what an introvert looks for. Instead, introverts find more comfort in solitude and focusing on inner thoughts and ideas. Investing more of their time in reading, writing, creativity, music and art is what energises them. Social gatherings might not be their interest but alone time is what they prefer most.

Following these traits introverts are often misunderstood.

Misconception no.1: Introverts are shy

Being shy is not the same as being introvert. Introverts enjoy solitude and tend to be reserved and prefer being alone or in small groups. This is often mistaken as being shy.

Misconception no.2: Introverts are rude

Introverts value their privacy and don’t believe much in expressing their emotions publicly. This tends people to dislike them and mistake them for being rude or weird at times.

Misconception no.3: Introverts are boring

Socializing in gatherings and parties and hanging out with peers might not be their kind of thing but that doesn’t make introverts boring. Time spent with inner circle of friends and family in a low key environment is more valuable for them.

Misconception no.4: Introverts can’t make friends

Introverts need their time to open up to new relationship. When it comes to befriending someone, introverts choose to have close friends, though less in number. They prefer smaller circle and high quality relationships.

Misconception no.5: Introverts are underconfident

Our society equates confidence with boldness, strong statements and actions directed externally which come naturally to extroverts. On the other hand, introverts don’t believe in the public display of confidence. Even though they feel confident inside, they don’t show much of it on the outside. Keeping emotions to themselves is natural in introverts.

Misconception no.6: Introverts are emotionless

Keeping emotions to themselves is natural in introverts. They have great control on their emotions and avoid expressing the same publicly. Though introverts might not seem to be emotionally engaged but usually that’s not the case.

Misconception no.7: Introverts wish to be extroverts

Sometimes, introverts might envy the abilities of extroverts to fit quickly and naturally to any social environment. But they do take great joy in being themselves and the delight of being in their own inner world. Being introvert is a gift where one enjoys equally self company and the company of others and wishing to be someone else is not the desire.

Misconception no.8: Introverts can turn into extroverts some day

Introversion is a personality trait which can either degrade or upgrade but never change. It is similar to wine which will only get better with aging but never change into something else i.e. one can grow up to be a mature introvert but not an extrovert.

We live in a fast growing world where chatty behaving individuals are preferred over the quite listeners. Many introverts find it difficult making their way through this scenario. However, introversion must be observed as a gift- a gift of thoughtfulness, compassion and creativity. Introverts are considerate, compassionate, deep thinkers, natural writers, problem solvers, keen observers, good listeners and readers- everything the world needs today.

Why are people so excited about the friends reunion

‘I will be there for you’ friends theme song plays on my head ever since I have watched the show. I can never get tired from listening to the masterpiece the song it gives a a whole vibe of positivity, and can you guys imagine the fact that if just the song makes me feel that way then what about the show? The show is simply the best comforting show ever period. The name friends has been kept to indicate the friendship between the character of the show and it shows it brilliantly with an addition laughter, fun, love, romance and suspense.

But the name friends is not only about the characters relationship for me ,for me it’s a show I can rely upon when I really need a funny friend who would make me feel happy and make me forget ally tensions and problems, its a show which never bores me and the fact that its last episode aired seventeen years back that is even before I was born the show aired , I can only imagine what changes it brought in the world. A show that has been running its old episodes successfully for these many years has surely got a lot of laughter and fun excitement, romance nad most importantly comforting vibes in it. As an audience what more can we ask for?

Me being a kid of the twenty first century can not ask for a better gift than the fact that I can witness the friends reunion. They are not recording any episodes it just an interview which shows us how the show has impacted their lives and how their lives have changed after the show ended. There is a huge time lap and saying so I mean the jokes my mum laughed at when she was my age is very different from the jokes I laugh at but this show certainly proves it wrong that you cant laugh along with your parents at some joke. The originality of each and every dialogue and the spark and passion of friendship between the characters makes us all want to have friends like that in real life as well.

The fact that those characters are real life friends makes me and the fans love the show so much more than ever.

Friends is simply a masterpiece not only the main characters the supporting characters have a weird , messy ,and creative charm in the way they speak ,dress and behave . The show is very well scripted undoubtedly.

And I cant be more excited to see  Jennifer Aniston as. Rachel Green ,Courteney Cox as. Monica Geller. Lisa Kudrow as. Phoebe Buffay. Matt LeBlanc as. Joey Tribbiani. Matthew Perry as. Chandler Bing. David Schwimmer as. Ross Geller, Back on the show even though it wont telecast in india we indian fans are more excited than ever and will certainly watch it later, the excitement that I have while writing about this piece is next level and I hope you guys are as excited as me for witnessing the reunion of a lifetime.

Taylor Swift: The new Pop poetess of the 21st century

Taylor Swift, the pop phenomenon, took the world by surprise when she dropped her albums Folklore and Evermore during the grim days of humanity. The albums were released during 2020 without much commercialization. From being a teenage icon to a pop star, the ‘cardigan’ song writer recently revealed her poetic side by the release of her two acclaimed albums.

Taylor Swift and her wise strategy

Unlike other prominent artists who spend huge sums for advertising their albums, Taylor Swift did not follow it this time. Instead, she surprised her fandom by announcing on all her social media handles that her 8th studio album Folklore would be released midnight.

While people had little to no time digesting the fact, it did not prevent them from buying the album, thus making it the best sold album of 2020. Now, without pressing foot on the brakes, by using the same strategy, she announced the release of her 9th studio album Evermore, naming it the sister album of Folklore.

The very short span between the release of the two albums (5 months) not only made fans happy, but boosted the sales of both of the albums. While folklore turned out to be the best sold album of 2020, Evermore, following it took the 2nd place. She once again proved that she herself is her sole competitor.

Hands down, the best lyricist

It is safe to say that we all had ‘Darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream‘ as our Instagram bio during the 1989 era. Taylor swift is not known just for her dreamy vocals, but also for her irresistible lyrical talent. She can write ‘Shake it off, I shake it off’ and she can write ‘But I’m a fire and I’ll keep your brittle heart warm , if your cascade ocean wave blues come’.

If you do not believe my words, take a peek at the second verse of her song ‘This is me trying’ from folklore:

They told me all of my cages were mental
So I got wasted like all my potential
And my words shoot to kill when I’m mad
I have a lot of regrets about that
I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere
Fell behind all my classmates and I ended up here
Pourin’ out my heart to a stranger
But I didn’t pour the whiskey

She explains her fallout so gracefully and honestly, I didn’t know until now that it can be written so!

The mental calm her albums gave during this pandemic

This pandemic broke down even the toughest of people. Being bound within four walls, not able to interact with your loved ones and more importantly, not able to even visit our sick friends and family took a devastating toll on the mental health of people regardless of the age factor. For students, the burden of online classes. For homemakers, the everlasting kitchen duty. For employees, the fear of being laid off.

To lament about these effects, I’d have to write a book! Us people, we create safe havens personal to us. Be it listening to your favorite music, reading your favorite book or even having a sound sleep, we try our best to cope up with a gloomy situation. For many people including myself, music has been the last resort. So Taylor did save my 2020!

Particularly, her song ‘Epiphany’ from Folklore details the calamitous experience faced by our frontline medical workers. It says that medics were taught to save lives, not hear the wailing of daughters and sons. Hearing the song made me want to question the mere existence of God if all this suffering is to be endured by people. Words have power. And Taylor meticulously used them to heal people.

Something med school did not cover
Someone’s daughter, someone’s mother
Holds your hand through plastic now
“Doc, I think she’s crashing out”
And some things you just can’t speak about

-Epiphany, album Folklore

So here’s to the queen who consumed our nights through her music. Someone who stripped every shred of the veil concealing the soul, making even the unbreakable ones, vulnerable. Achingly beautiful are the only words that remind me of the albums Folklore and Evermore.

Grateful to you Taylor, for, without you we wouldn’t have been able to believe that light exists at the end of the tunnel.
