Is the defeat in wtc acceptable? Questions arises over virat’s captaincy.

The final of the WTC(2019-2021) was played from 18 to 23 June 2021 at the Rose Bowl Southampton, England, between India and New Zealand. It was initially scheduled for five days, but time lost during the game to rain interruptions so there was a sixth day reserved for outcome of results. And as expected  the planned reserve day was used .New Zealand won the match by eight wickets to be crowned as the winners of the ICC World Test Championship

After the defeat of the Indian team, the captain comes first on target . The news about the outraged  Indian fans , annoyed cricket expert and WhatsApp memes start circulating over the internet. The netizens and twitterati starts demanding that the captain should leave the capticancy. But the question arises that is it right time to take back his captaincy? Or if he is removed from the captaincy then do we have any good option for his replacement? But before making any conclusions , let’s have a look over virat’s captaincy record.

Virat has captained 61 test with a winning percentage of 59.01% , which includes 36 wins ,15 losses and 10draws . He is having second best winning percentage as a captain among all current playing captains. When talked about oneday cricked , virat has a win percentage of about 70% , which includes 65 wins. His win percentage in T20 cricket is 65.1% which includes 27 wins. It’s just unfortunate that virat has lost couple of icc trophies even with sach a fantastic record in mordern day cricket .

“The decision of making and removing someone from captaincy cannot be taken emotionally. If someone asks to remove virat from captaincy then can we remove him on the basis of single match? When talked about the record, virat has won 36 matches . I personally feel that just because of loosing single match we should not overreact. There was our mistakes, batting mistake , team management mistake . If we actually talk about the captaincy debate then it is quite clear that it will happen in T20 cricket. But even it’s not right time to discuss over T20 cricket now because world cup commencing and if we continue these debate then cricket would be harmed the most. I feel that virat is captain and the world cup plan is designed with him . If the india looses the World cup then it’s sure that Rohit would be made captain of T20 format.” Said the cricketing expert Vikrant Gupta.

“Do we have any alternative for captaincy? Is there any better option for virat’s replacement? Is there anyone who can score runs consistently and can do captiancy like him in a pressure situation. I don’t think that it’s right time to remove him from his captiancy.” Said the indian sport journalist vijay Lokapally.

Cricket was first recorded in 16th-century England, and it was played in grammar schools, farm communities and everywhere in between. But things really took off when 18th-century nobles realised that not only was it a great sport but also an excellent opportunity for betting.

With sky-high stakes being wagered, it was deemed necessary to come up with agreed rules. The oldest surviving set of cricket laws date from 1744 – printed on a handkerchief, naturally. It’s now in the MCC Museum at Lord’s in London.

The oldest permanent fixture is the annual Eton v Harrow match, played since 1805. A young Lord Byron turned out for Harrow in the first match, though history doesn’t record how poetic – or “mad, bad and dangerous” – his bowling was.  

The first international match was in 1877 when Australia beat England in Melbourne. The match was dubbed a “Test”, since the gruelling nature of playing over five days was deemed the ultimate “test” for any side.

But it was Australia’s first win on English soil – in 1882 at The Oval in London – that led to matches between the two nations being christened the Ashes. T20 world cup shifted from India to UAE AND OMAN

The T20 world cup 2021 will be held from October 17 to 14 November in UAE and OMAN as confirmed by the ICC on Tuesday. Matches will be played in four venues – Dubai International stadium, the sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi, the OMAN Cricket Academy ground and Sharjah stadium. BCCI will remain the host of the event.

It the heartbreaking news for Indian fans but because of the pandemic and keeping in mind safety of the players this decision has been taken by ICC and BCCI .Good news is that T20 World cup going held without any delay and fans can watch it on their TV or in phone .

“The ICC Men’s T20 world cup 2021 will be staged in UAE and OMAN due to the on going covid-19 situation in India” ICC said on their official release.

Acting ICC CEO Geoff Allardice said: “Our priority is to deliver the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 safely, in full and in its current window. Whilst we are incredibly disappointed not to be hosting the event in India, the decision gives us the certainty we need to stage the event in a country that is a proven international host of multi-team events in a bio-secure environment. We will work closely with the BCCI, the Emirates Cricket Board and Oman Cricket to ensure fans can enjoy a wonderful celebration of cricket.”

President BCCI Sourav Ganguly  said: “The BCCI is looking forward to hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 tournament in UAE and Oman.  We would have been happier hosting it in India but considering the uncertainty due to the Covid -19 situation and the importance of a world championship, the BCCI will now continue to host this tournament in UAE and Oman. The BCCI is looking forward to creating a spectacle.”

BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, said: “The BCCI made every effort to stage the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and provide its passionate fans with a reason to cheer after a long period of gloom. However, the prevailing pandemic situation in the country meant that the health and safety of everyone concerned was fraught with risk should a tournament of this stature is held across the country. The BCCI will continue to host the tournament, which will now be held in the UAE and Oman and work closely with the ICC to make it a memorable event.” 

Vice President Emirates Cricket Board, Khalid Al Zarooni said: “Emirates Cricket Board is honoured that the BCCI (Board of Cricket Control India) and the ICC (International Cricket Council) have entrusted us with staging and delivering the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Oman Cricket Chairman, Pankaj Khimji said, “It is indeed a great moment for Oman Cricket to be selected as a venue/host of the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. We shall leave no stone unturned to exceed the requirements of BCCI and ICC. Oman will certainly extend a very warm welcome to all the teams, officials and media in October.” 

ICC WORLD T20 2021

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in the UAE and Oman due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in India. The BCCI will be the hosts of the event. The tournament will now be held in Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground. The tournament is planned to happen from October 17 to November 14, 2021.

The first round of the tournament, comprising the eight qualifying teams, will now be split between Oman and UAE. Four of these teams will then progress to the Super 12s round where they’ll join the eight automatic qualifiers who are in top 8 positions in World T20 rankings. The 8 teams that are playing in round 1 to get into the Super 12 are the former champions SriLanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Oman, Papua New Guinea and Namibia. 4 teams out of the 8 will be qualified for the World T20 Super 12. 2 teams will join the Pool A and two will join Pool B teams.

First Round

Group A:
SriLanka, Ireland, Papua New Guinea and Oman are in Group A. The team that comes first will enter Pool A of Super 12. Similarly, the team that comes second will enter the Pool B of Super 12.

Group B:
Bangladesh, Netherlands, Scotland and Namibia are in Group B. The team that comes first will enter Pool B of Super 12. Similarly, the team that comes second will enter the Pool A of Super 12.

Second Round

Pool A
Pool A already has 4 teams qualified. They are Australia, New Zealand, West Indies and Pakistan.

Pool B
Pool B already has 4 teams qualified. They are England, India, South Africa and Afghanistan.

After the league stages of the World T20, Qualifiers will be played for Finals. India performs well in every season of the World T20. But the last time India won the trophy was 2007. After that, India qualified for the playoffs almost everytime. But India did’t have the luck of winning trophy. After 2007, Dhoni and Kohli led the team in T20s. Every time India would fail in a single knock out game and would return with empty hands. This time we don’t expect the same. Prior to T20 World Cup, IPL is going to be conducted in UAE. That would be a good preparation not only for Indian players but all around the world. This time, the team does not believe in one or two players to score runs and make the team win. Every slot in the line up has heavy competition. There are 2-3 players fighting for each position. That is a healthy headache for the selection committee as well as the captain. Whoever tried in the respective spot during India’s ordinary tours played well. This time, we hope India would win the cup under Kohli’s captaincy. Happy to share my thoughts. The Indian men’s national cricket team, also known as Team India and Men in Blue, is governed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) status.

Cricket was introduced to India by British sailors in the 18th century, and the first cricket club was established in 1792. India’s national cricket team did not play its first Test match until 25 June 1932 at Lord’s, becoming the sixth team to be granted test cricket status. From 1932 India had to wait until 1952, almost 20 years for its first Test victory. In its first fifty years of international cricket, India was one of the weaker teams, winning only 35 of the first 196 Test matches it played. The team, however, gained strength in the 1970s with the emergence of players such as batsmen Gavaskar, Viswanath, Kapil Dev, and the Indian spin quartet.

Traditionally much stronger at home than abroad, the Indian team has improved its overseas form, especially in limited-overs cricket, since the start of the 21st century, winning Test matches in Australia, England and South Africa. It is second cricket team to win World Cup after West Indies. It has won the Cricket World Cup twice – in 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev and in 2011 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After winning the 2011 World Cup, India became only the third team after West Indies and Australia to have won the World Cup more than once, and the first cricket team to win the World Cup at home. It also won the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. It was also the joint champions of 2002 ICC Champions Trophy, along with Sri Lanka. The team has also won the Asian Cup seven times, making them one of the most successful cricket team in both Asia and the world. They are also one of the only four teams to win all major ICC tournaments. India have also won the ICC Test Championship, ICC ODI Championship, ICC T20I Championship and the World Championship of Cricket in 1985.

The Indian cricket team has rivalries with other Test-playing nations, most notably with Pakistan, the political arch-rival of India. However, in recent times, rivalries with nations like Australia, South Africa and England have also gained prominence.

As we do have our favourite cricketer, we all have different tastes but mine is MS Dhoni (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) he’s the beat no one can’t beat him but as we see our current Indian team so these are the players:

IPL Fun with a Trick.

There is no doubt in the saying “It is not only a game, it is festival of India”. And every year it amazes us like we are kid and it always surprise us with a chocolate.

Hello there, As you all are I’m also become an IPL lover. But, trust me I was not. Because at first I thought these all games are fixed or kind of scripted. And soon enough I realized that my perception needs to be changed. Man! In this year 2020, IPL is the only good things happening after work from home. Don’t you believe, huh!

I’m not going to preach you about the game or about any player. Come on you all are fully aware about it , and I know it perfectly. Today, all I wanted to talk about those how are too attached to this game that it brings a kind of personal loss to them. Are you all are mad or what? Like, I know that there should be something which motivates you to do it. But, you all must have heard that it’s the path that is beautiful not the destination.

I came up with an idea that I don’t support any particular team at all. That thing is scary and depressing. So, all I do is enjoy a match. And I’m sure you all do, but, I enjoy in different manner. Like, there must be some time when you get sad because your team player got out, or you get happy because your team player hit a six. But, for me I’m happy in the both the case. Like I don’t enjoy a game from one point but the both point of view. From the bowler and the batting team.

This technique not only increase my level of excitement for the IPL but it also save me from any personal sadnesses, like my younger brother have.

Performance Management lessons from LAGAAN

Released in the year of 2001, this sports-based iconic movie was based on a small number of people in a village in the Victorian India where they challenged the British for a game of cricket so as to avoid paying of taxes. The movie is an iconic one because it depicts how the protagonist, Amir Khan as Bhuvan took the responsibility to rescue his fellow villagers and how he taught them to play cricket. And the best part of the movie is that, how in spite of all the major and minor obstacles, Amir Khan won the game against the British and managed to secure an opportunity to not pay taxes for the coming three years.

That being said, this movie is quite extensively used by the B-Schools to teach about the various performance management lessons that can be derived from this movie. So after watching this movie again and following an extensive analysis, I have noticed certain instances which can provide exemplary examples of performance management. Below depicted are some of the instances:

  1. At the time when the villagers were unable to pay back the taxes, Bhuvan took the responsibility of all the villagers and acted as a leader to carve out a way of glory for them.
  2. After challenging the British over a game of cricket, Bhuvan took it upon himself to learn the game and then to teach all the fellow members.
  3. During the selection of the cricket team members, Bhuvan believed in instilling diversity and inclusion policy. Kachra was selected in the team because of a deformity in his hand which made him a good bowler, in spite of all the caste based differences. Bhura was selected because he was an expert in running to catch his hens which was identified as a major parameter to catch the ball. Even the drummer who could not speak, was selected because he spent most of his lifetime playing the drums and hence had a good upper body strength. So from these instance, Bhuvan was recognized to identify the differences in the team which can be a source of competitive advantage.
  4. At the onset of the game, Bhuvan and his team did not have the necessary resources. But he was more concerned about the performance of his team than about the scarcity of resources. He gave directions to build the necessity from the scratch and that too by the local folks. Being a leader, Bhuvan turned out to be innovative.
  5. Bhuvan did not just made the team, but he did a good job in allocating roles and responsibilities to each of the team members based on their strengths.
  6. One of the note-worthy point is that Bhuvan set some measurable goals and he supervised and improved the performance of his team members. His mantra was pure hard work but with empathy and compassion, which shows a good sign of performance management.
  7. At the end of the movie, even when Kachra facing the last ball, Bhuvan did not give up. He ran for that single run but then it was turned out to be ‘no-ball’. So as a leader of a team, Bhuvan showed immense amount of trust in his team members and a ‘never give up’ attitude.

Lagaan is definitely a movie to watch if one is trying to understand what it is that a leader truly believes in and does. So next time when you watch this movie, you can watch out for these instances of performance management.

‘Dhoni not thinking about retirement:’, his manager provides huge updates on former Indian captain’s future.

MS Dhoni’s manager Mihir Diwakar has clarified that the wicketkeeper batsman does not seem to be harbouring thoughts of retirement as of now. The former India captain, who has not played any form of cricket since India’s World Cup exit last year, turned 39 on Tuesday.

His manager and childhood friend Mihir Diwakar, while speaking to PTI, gave a peek into the trailblazer’s reclusive life at his home in Ranchi.

“Patriotism is in his blood, be it serving for the country (in defence) or (farming) the land, he’s very passionate about it. He has about 40-50 acres of farm land and he is busy growing organic crops like papaya, banana there,” Diwakar said.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was expected to be back in action at the IPL but that has been postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.He was recently seen driving a tractor during the lockdown. Diwakar said they are soon going to launch their organic fertiliser under their company’s name Neo Global.

He said the fertiliser is being tested at Dhoni’s farm. Dhoni recently spoke about the harmful impact of pesticides in a video to promote organic farming. “We have a team of experts and scientists and they have developed the fertiliser and it should be launched within two-three months,” Diwakar said.”I spoke to him past midnight. It was a normal business talk. As usual, Dhoni would be at home with his family, with a quiet birthday celebration.”

Asked whether retirement has crossed Dhoni’s mind, Diwakar said: “Being friends, we don’t talk about his cricket. But looking at him, he’s not all thinking about retirement.”He is very determined to play the IPL. He has worked really hard for this. If you remember he was there in Chennai one month in advance before everything was shut down,” he pointed out.

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, popularly referred to as the God of cricket is a former international cricketer from India and former captain of the Indian national team. He is considered as the greatest batsman in the history of cricket. The famous batsman had set many records in his 24 years long and illustrious career. He is the only player to have scored one hundred international centuries, the first batsman to score a double century in a One Day International (ODI), the holder of the record for the most runs in both Test and ODI cricket, and the only player to complete more than 30,000 runs in international cricket.

Early life

Tendulkar was born at Nirmal Nursing Home in Dadar, Bombay on 24 April 1973 to a Maharashtrian family. His father, Ramesh Tendulkar, was a well-known Marathi novelist & poet and his mother, Rajni, worked in the insurance industry. Ramesh named Tendulkar after his favourite music director, Sachin Dev Burman. Tendulkar has three elder siblings: two half-brothers Nitin and Ajit, and a half-sister Savita.

 Ajit introduced the young Sachin to cricket in 1984. He introduced him to Ramakant Achrekar, a famous cricket coach and a club cricketer of repute, at Shivaji Park, Dadar. Achrekar was impressed with Tendulkar’s talent and advised him to shift his schooling to Sharadashram Vidyamandir High School, a school at Dadar which had a dominant cricket team and had produced many notable cricketers. Achrekar was the man who helped him to shape his career as a cricketer.

Career

Sachin made his International debut at the age of 16 in the year 1989 against arch rivals Pakistan, scoring 15 runs before being bowled by Waqar Younis. In his ODI debut, he was dismissed for a duck by Waqar against Pakistan in Gujranwala in 1989.

Tendulkar’s performance through the years 1994–1999 coincided with his physical peak, in his early twenties. He opened the batting at Auckland against New Zealand in 1994, making 82 runs off 49 balls. He scored his first ODI century on 9 September 1994 against Australia in Sri Lanka at Colombo. Tendulkar’s rise continued when he was the leading run scorer at the 1996 World Cup, scoring two centuries. He was the only Indian batsman to perform well in the semi-final against Sri Lanka. 

In the 2003 World Cup, Tendulkar helped his team advance as far as the finals. Though India was defeated by Australia, Tendulkar, who averaged 60.2, was named the man of the tournament. A tennis elbow injury then took its toll on Tendulkar, leaving him out of the side for most of the year, coming back only for the last two Tests when Australia toured India in 2004. This was a major low point in his career.

Later in his career, Tendulkar was a part of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup, his first win in six World Cup appearances for India.

Records and achievements

Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run scorer in Tests, with 15,921 runs, as well as in One-Day Internationals, with 18,426 runs. He is the only player to score more than 30,000 runs in all forms of international cricket (Tests, ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals). He also holds the record of the highest number of centuries in both Tests (51) and ODIs (49) as well as in Tests and ODIs combined (100). On 16 March 2012, Tendulkar scored his 100th international hundred. It came against Bangladesh in the league matches of Asia Cup 2012. He is also the only player to score fifty centuries in Test cricket, and the first to score fifty centuries in all international cricket combined. He also holds the world record for playing the highest number of Test matches (200) and ODI matches (463). In November 2011, he scored a historic “double century” in a contest against South Africa, becoming the first man in history to record 200 runs in a single innings of ODI play.

Tendulkar recieved the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 1997, India’s highest sporting honour, and the Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan awards in 1999 and 2008, respectively. In 2012 Tendulkar became a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper chamber of the Indian parliament—the first active athlete to join that body; he was nominated to the post. In 2014, he became the first sportsman to receive India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna.

Retirement

In December 2012, Tendulkar announced his retirement from ODIs. He retired from Twenty20 cricket in October 2013 and subsequently retired from all forms of cricket on 16 November 2013 after playing his 200th Test match, against the West Indies in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

The international cricket resumed after 117 days due to corona pandemic with all due precautions of safety. In this 117 days world witnessed many challenges besides impact of corona virus, one such major was the brutal killing of George Floyd by a us police officer for using counterfeit money to buy cigarettes. The officer knelt on neck of Floyd for almost 8 minutes, where Floyd pleaded the officer to leave him as he was unable to breathe,but to no mercy from officer he later chocked to death.This was most brutal act and against humanity, many protests were done against the officer and he was even suspended.

This led to disclosure of many incidents of racism ,discrimination on color many cricketers came forward to explain how they had faced such things.

England and West Indies cricketers took a knee to show their solidarity against racism and support the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement before the start of the first Test of the three-match series here at the Ageas Bowl on Wednesday.

After the corona pandemic brought the world and fields of sports to a standstill, cricket finally has got it’s breathing space. After 117 days, players from England and West Indies will play a historic test match at Southampton in England. With the Corona wave setting in as early as March, Australia and New Zealand last played a test on March 13. Cricket has been interrupted by war, terrorist attacks and political crises. But this series, played amid a global pandemic, will be a genuine first

Cricket would be back but the normal would be different. Covid-19 has forced crowds out of the stadium. Saliva can’t be used to shine the ball and the celebratory hugs and handshakes are too banned. Precautions have been taken all way right from the start. The West Indies squad arrived in England in early June and were quarantined and tested multiple times for Covid-19. Both the squad lived and trained under the bio-secure bubble. The number of DRS reviews has been increased and non-neutral umpires would stand-in as suggested by the Anil Kumble Committee. 

How the teams would shape up?

West Indies and England had always had their bowling departments to the full firepower. Shanon Gabriels, Kemar Roach from the WI and James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer would be all set to be in action. The Batting lineups from both the teams would be up for tests. With Joe Root on a paternity leave to attend to the birth of his child, Stokes stands in as the captain. Word cup 1983

25th June 1983, was the first time that India won the cricket world cup. It was the first time that India had made an appearance in the finals, and they were up against West Indies  for whom this was their third consecutive world cup finals appearance. The world cup was hosted by the company Prudential that is why the world cup is also called Prudential world cup .The finals was played in Lord’s  cricket stadium also called  Lord’s in London which had had hosted world cup for the third time. India defeated West Indies by 43 runs. Kapil Dev lifting the Trophy from the balcony of the Lord’s cricket ground still remains the image of savor for the India fans. Even after 37 years people acknowledge this finals as the most memorable game played by the India cricket team.

India were the underdogs in the tournament, there was not much expectations from the team. However they defeated Zimbabwe in a crucial match, thanks to Kapi Dev who made 175 runs which lead the team to win the match. India was at 78 runs 5 wickets when Kapil dev came for batting his extraordinary innings took Indian team to victory. Unfortunately this historical match was not telecasted as British Broadcasting corporation  was on a strike  that day. In semi finals England was defeated by India by six wickets with thirty two balls remaining and Mohinder Amarnath becoming the player of the match. West indies defeated Australia in the semi finals by seven wickets with thirteen balls remaining and Vivin Richards became the man of the match.

West Indies and India made it to the finals, at that time West indies had really good bowling attack. So when they won the toss they chose to ball first and allowed India to Bat.  First came Sunil Gavaskar but his innings was short as he got out for just two runs but Krishnamachari Srikanth and Mohinder Amarnath had a good partnership and brought the runs to the fifty mark. Then soon Srikanth got out making  thirty eight runs, after that as the score was marching towards a hundred Mohinder Amarnath and Yashpal sharma lost their wickets after making twenty six runs and eleven runs respectively. Then came the captain Kapil Dev who stroke three boundaries in eight balls but got out in just 15 runs. Nor could the next players like Kirti Azad and Roger Binny could make runs, they did not even cross the double digit. Then Sandip Patil could only score 27 runs and The all rounder Madan lal came back to the pavilion after making 17 runs. India was all out in 54.4 overs making 183 runs.

Then came India’s turn to bowl, the first wicket was taken in just 11 balls by Balwinder singh sandhu that too of Gordon Greenidge who was really in a great form, he could only take 5 runs. West indies also had a great partnership of  Desmond Haynes and Vivin Richards which enabled west indies to cross the 50 mark, but  both of them were dismissed by  Madan Lal and Kapil Dev respectively. Soon West Indies was all out in 52 overs making 140 runs and India won by 43 runs and Mohinder Amarnath becoming the Man of the match. No Man of the series was awarded that year.

This victory not only made these players a hero but also changed the perception of games in India. This also lead to a high commercialization of cricket as a game, people started to think sports as a career and also many people really got engaged to the game. This win also brought a sense of ” we can do it” for the Indian team.

 

 

The cover drive masters…

The cover drive is a special type of shot which requires fine wrist work and well-timed striking of ball to hit the ball into the cover-side area which is towards off side of batsmen. This shot is historically a famed one and the players who have mastered it are considered to be finest players of the game.

The stroke became historically famous during the golden era of cricket in nineteenth and early-twentieth century when cricket England started classifying players as Amateurs and Professionals. The amateurs mastered the off side shots while professionals practiced the leg side shots like flicks around the wicket.

The Leaders by Average:

While playing cover drive though Virat has scored 1038 runs off this shot and is the only player to do so ,he has been dismissed 14 times while trying to play it taking the average to 74.1 runs per dismissal. This is quite healthy average but interestingly he ranks 25th among top 45 batsmen who have scored 300-plus runs off this shot. 

The leading are South Africa’s Aiden Markram ,Faf du Plessis and pakistan’s Asad shafiq. Markram has scored 338 runs off cover drive without a single dismissal and Faf du Plessis has scored 542 runs of 2 dismissals giving him fantastic average of 270. 

Right vs Left- who plays it best:

The stats are revealing that left-handers are better players of the shot than right handers. It is clear that left handed players are edging the righty players for playing the shot. In fact the stats reveal that from over last 40-60 years left handers have edged right handers over the average runs per dismissals while playing the shot.
