History behind Father’s Day…

In our society, we celebrate different days about different personalities like Mother’s Day, Teacher’s Day, and women’s Day. The main purpose of celebrating these days is to pay tribute to those personalities, Likewise, every year the father’s day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. In ancient times, this day had celebrated on 19 of March as Saint Joseph Day, but in present time, every year the father’s day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June this tradition of celebrating Father’s day was started after an incident.

In 1907 many men were died in an explosion occurred in a mine in West Virginia. The Father’s day was started in the remembrance of these men, Sonora Dodd from Washington had introduced this term “Father’s Day” in 1909. Sonora Dodd had very interesting story related to Father’s Day. She used to love her father William Jackson. Her mother died in her childhood, so her father brought her up along with her 5 siblings. William Jackson died in a war. When Sonora Dodd had heard about Mother’s Day, she told the pastor of local Church that

“Similar Day should be celebrated for dads too”.

Therefore, she proposed 5th June for Father’s Day, as that day was her father’s Birthday, but there was not enough time left for ceremony, So pastor denied her proposal and then this ceremony took place on third Sunday of June. At start, Sonora Dodd could not get any success to advertise this Day, so she left advertising it and she went to arts institute of Chicago for studies. In 1930 she came back to her city and started advertising Father’s Day once again. This time she got very success in it, because she got the support of Local Businessmen. Father’s Day was an opportunity to local businessmen. Specially for those who belongs to gift selling businesses. After 1930, Father’s Day become a commercial day.

Islam has also stress on the importance of parents, especially for father, it is said that ” Father’s desire is Allah’s Desire and father’s anger is Allah’s anger “In our society, we openly show our love to Mothers but maybe it is not in the case of fathers. The thing we need to do is that we should not only show our love to our parents but should also take a great care of them in old age. My Friends, the father is only man who sacrifice everything for your need and your desires. Today if your father is alive and he forbid you from anything, then for this blessing you should be very thankful to your GOD. My Friends, the importance of this thing can be asked from those who do not have fathers with them. The father is only man who is the first hero of his son, similarly he is the first love of his daughter.

Confession on Father’s day: ‘Life of My Life”

If you are reading this please make sure that you wish your dad before you start. Just a few words from your mouth will ensure your father’s happiness. Don’t be shy to confess. Be confident and confess your true feelings. Don’t try to speak what you thought, try to confess what you are going through at that moment. Don’t mug up the quotes to impress your father. Because father never looks at literature because feelings matter the most.

“By the time a man realizes that may be his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong.” One of the best quote about every father. We can’t confess it in the way it was written. Many of us can’t even speak off what we feel about him infront of him. The shy is due to the respect and gratitude we have inside ourselves. The thing is we can’t let it off and speak about him to him.

Dad isn’t a ad to add a quotation and wish him. True feelings can never be framed. The gut feeling is real and normal. The cinematic dialauge version such as Sons first hero and daughters first love cannot happen in real. The difficulty lies in expressing ourselves as we thought. We can excel in n number of things and could do exactly the way we want to. But coming to the confession of our feelings to the true loved ones we stammer. The love he gave and the sacrifice he made can’t be thanked by just thanking him. We owe him the life. Our life is just some chromosome without his life.

Being thankful to him is just a small thing and least thing that we could do. Never make him feel low for something we did in a rush. Father understands us without justification. Respect his feelings and be responsible for the life of your life. Your birth might have a reason or you might have a reason to live but don’t forget that he is the reason for you life. Never leave him for any reasons. Reasons are just excuses for the mistake. Never make him unhappy. If he is sad be with him. The only thing every father atmost cares is nothing but confidence. He doesn’t want his child to be successful, he only wants to see happiness in your face. He gave us smile on our face and we should not let it leave his face. Father took care of whole family by working hard and tried to hide his troubles with a fake smile. Never give that fake smile he showed to us to hide his hard work. He worked hard to ensure you not to work harder. He made himself work hard to make it easy for you.

My father had struggled to study so hard without his father. He never compromised to make me study. He made sure that I got what I wanted. Today some force pushed me to confess the father’s day to my dad. Atlast I wished my father without shy. We are out of words when we require the most. I am very lucky to have him as my father. He was never angry on me. He made me know the value of patience. He is so patient that he understands everything and listens to others words very keenly.

What is special about today…?

Why it is the longest day ?, because Since the Earth rotates on the axis, the North of the Equator receives more direct sunlight between the month of March and September, hence Summer is experienced during the time. Is there any effect on humans? yes during the total solar eclipse, the total eclipse may last only a short period of time, and if you are looking towards the sun as the moon moves away from blocking the sun, you might get a solar burn on your retina which can cause permanent damage to your eyes.

WHAT MOTIVATES OUR ATHLETES

Modern sportsmen became celebrities with more fame than movie stars and singers. They earn millions and obtain exclusive brands deals with Adidas, Puma, and Pepsi.
People see professional athletes as idols. Many of them started with nothing and become highly successful due to dedication and hard work. Famous athletes inspire and motivate people to go after their dreams and not be afraid. But sometimes we forget, that world-famous sportsmen are still humans: they also need to motivate themselves to achieve more.
Here are the main reasons top athletes stay motivated:
1. CompetitionOne of the most reasons popular sportsmen work incredibly hard to raised their skills and performance stats is competition with other athletes.
Let’s use the example of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. They are two outstanding footballers who play for the different teams. They both have numerous awards and million-dollar paychecks. Even though everyone portrays them as rivals, they do not have any conflicts in real life, they use the accomplishments of each other as motivation and incentive to be better.
2. Desire to Be BetterTo regular people, it may seem that famous sportsmen like Virat Kohli (cricket) or Serena Williams (tennis) have perfect lives. They, indeed, have everything a person can possibly need: luxurious mansions, expensive clothes, and sports cars. However, when you achieve all these things, you only want more. That is why rich sportsmen buy numerous houses, expensive clothes, and accessories. A person’s desires cannot stay the same: they can only grow.
3. Fear of FailureAnother thing that motivates athletes to always be on top of their game is a fear of failure.
It is a known fact: it is difficult to reach the top, but it is very easy to fall to the bottom.
Look at Diego Maradona, one of the greatest footballers in history. He had everything, money, fame, talent. But he started using drugs and failed the dope test twice. All the world watched him fall. This traumatic experience forced him to end his football career. Fear of failure is not the best motivator, but it is very effective.
As for the tricks that sportsmen use to stay motivated, they are the same methods that work for everybody:
1. Discipline
One of the foremost effective tricks that employment for everyone is discipline. When someone has a busy schedule and each minute is valuable, there is usually no room for depression and laziness. As we all know, famous athletes have busy lives with practices every day during the season. Disciple helps to remain on track and remember what their goals are.
2. Pleasure
We have just discussed the importance of discipline, and now it is a pleasure that matters. One does not go without the other: it is all about finding the balance.

Even for such strong-minded people as professional athletes, it would be impossible to always have a tight schedule with no rest. Finding something that brings you pleasure is crucial.
An athlete can be exhausted from a difficult sports season, but a couple of weeks on vacation with family and friends can change everything. When a person is stressed and apathetic, the best solution is rest. It will help to revive strength and find the motivation again.
3. Setting High Goals
Last, but not least: athletes know how to dream big. We have mentioned that desires only grow with success. That is why formulating the goals correctly is key. And professional sportsmen, who have achieved everything through hard work and dedication, know exactly what they want and are not afraid to take it.

How to easily over come the Fear of Public Speaking.

As we know that majority of the people are not comfortable to speak in public or actually don’t like to speak in public. They feel insecure and uncomfortable to speak in front of a large audience or being up on stage. They fear to be the centre of attraction or say centre of attention.

The fear of public speaking could be a continuous cycle until the individual steps up to face their fear. Majority face bad nerves before and during their presentation or public speaking. An individual going through nervousness is natural as sends some commanding messages to our brain which results in the release of stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol which helps the individual in fighting the current situation or just give up.

These stress hormones can result in positive results as it could bring enough energy and excitement to an individual during their presentation but there’s always two sides to a coin hence it can also lead to adrenaline and anxiety which could end up in a dry throat and mouth and increase in heart rate and could even make an individual sweat.

Lets go through some of ways in which an individual can overcome the fear of public speaking.

1- Awareness and Acceptance.

A person should accept the fact he is going to feel nervous as it is a natural process which is in built within everyone. As a matter of fact an individual needs to properly organize himself and accept his nerves and prepare and work accordingly.

2- Breathe normally.

It has been observed that people tend to breathe heavily or quickly while they panic.Controlled breathing can be helped in controlling the nerves and eliminating the sense of fear. It is better to start working on how you breathe as it will definitely help you in the process.

3- Choose the right clothes to feel confident.

Choosing the right pair of clothes will eventually boost your confidence and help you in the process of public speaking. If you don’t feel comfortable in a dress code do avoid the option as it will lead to some bad experience as it affects an individuals flow and cause a bad vibe among the people.

4- Know your topic really well.

Always choose a specific topic of your interest or on the contrary when you are supposed to give a speech or a presentation as your not allowed to choose a topic, go through all the possible aspects of that topic. So even if you don’t remember something at that particular time you can most probably handle the situation by speaking about something which is related to the topic.

5- Practice,Practice and Practice.

If you expect that you will make it without practice you are probably wrong. Practice makes you perfect and there’s no doubt to it. Practicing will help you stay motivated and make you feel confident. Practice in front of a mirror and imagine the stage on which you will be performing soon, this will eventually boost your confidence and will help in understanding the certain mistakes which could be corrected.

Public speaking has become an essential need to further progress in life as to progress one needs to have certain leadership skills and the leader has to take the responsibility of speaking to the public. Hopefully these tips will help you in overcoming your public speaking fear.

Annular Solar Eclipse

When the moon comes in between the earth and the sun and the sunlight is obstructed, it is known as Solar eclipse. But when the moon covers the sun partially or starting from the center and leaving its rim it appears like a ring which is called as Ring of fire and is known as annular solar eclipse.

June 21st, 2020 is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. The first annular solar eclipse of the year is going to occur on June 21st. It will begin from 11:49 and last till 11:50. The path of annular solar eclipse will start from Gharsana , Rajasthan. however it will last for less than one minute.

It will peak between 11:40 am to 12:10 pm. The eclipse will pass India around 3:04 pm.

The Ring of fire can be observed from places like Suratgarh and Anupgarh in Rajasthan, Sirsa, Ratia and Kurukshetra in Haryana, and Dehradun, Chamba, Chamoli and Joshimath in Uttarakhand.  a partial solar eclipse of a different magnitude can be observed in places including Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi.

Annular Solar Eclipse and Corona VIrus

It has been a popular question on google search recently that will the annular solar eclipse might be the end of corona virus? Back in 1986 when scientists came up with the term “corona virus”, under a microscope as they observed the corona virus they saw that the virus they were looking at resembled solar corona which is a bright crown-like ring of gasses surrounding the sun that is visible during a solar eclipse.

The June 21st annular solar eclipse is said to be the deepest eclipse in nearly a hundred years.

Dr. KL Sundar Krishna, a Nuclear and Earth scientist told ANI that the pandemic may have been a result of mutated particle interaction of the first neutron emitted after the solar eclipse owing to fission energy. He said that there is a “planetary configuration with new alignment in the solar system” which occurred after the solar eclipse. And that is even the coronavirus outbreak happened, according to Krishna.

Krishna has even deduced a possible theory of how the virus originated. He told ANI that the virus has come from the upper atmosphere where “inter-planetary force variation” took place. The said neutrons then began nucleating which further resulted in bio-nuclear interactions in the upper atmosphere. This bio-nuclear interaction, according to him, may be a source of the virus.

During the early outbreak of corona virus it was said that a hot weather could kill corona virus. However, it was disproved by WHO. While the solar corona would kill corona virus as it is hotter than the sun. But the only way for it to happen is if the solar corona came in contact with the corona virus – which they won’t, since the sun is over 152.02 million kilometers away.

So the answer to that question is No, the Annular Solar Eclipse won’t affect the Corona Virus.

International Father’s Day – 3rd Sunday of June

Have you ever given a count to everything your superhero did for you? I know the answers would be fairly no because we can’t do so!

Father’s day is one of the occasions for honouring fatherhood and the position they play in this world. This day is dedicated to all the fathers in this world, making them feel delighted of who they are and thanking them for everything they did for their families.

ANYONE CAN FATHER A CHILD, BUT BEING DAD TAKES A LIFETIME

Fathers play a very meaningful role in the existence of a child. It is a father who makes a child, develops his or her personality, leads the way for us to become what we seek, lifts us in our accomplishment and being a strong shoulder in all our ups and downs. Counting everything he did for us wouldn’t be justice to the fatherhood. So, let’s have a glance at the life aspects that would be insufficient without insufficient.

Fathers and the discipline: A father knows what to teach his child. He executes the rules comprehensively to make his child differ between all the rights and the wrongs he or she will be overlooking in their beings.

Fathers and the emotional evolution: Studies demonstrate that an affectionate and supportive father affects a child’s development and strength. They often become a protection for their children. Physically and emotionally, they further formulates self-confidence in their children.

Fathers and the Sons: A son always seeks his father’s character from a very young age to discover the rules for resisting in the community. This teaches a son to treat others with admiration, respecting and caring others etc.

Fathers and the Daughters: Fathers are accountable for protecting their daughters and supporting them emotionally. They teach them the genuine essence of every relationship and make them tough for further circumstance in life.

Fathers and the Real existence: Fathers help to see their children the virtual world in which they exist. He teaches them the reality and severity of this world.

HISTORY OF FATHER’S DAY

This day was founded in the USA in Spokane, Washington YMCA in 1910 by Sonora Smart Dodd. There it was first celebrated on June 19, 1910. Sonora was inspired by Anna Jarvis’s suggestion of celebrating Mother’s Day in honour of her mother and felt of celebrating a similar day for honouring the fathers. Sonora’s father, William Jackson was a Civil War veteran. He raised six children alone being a single parent. She wanted this day to be celebrated on her father’s birthday which was on June 5. But the church’s time impediment ended up postponing it to the third Sunday of June.

SIGNIFICANCE OF FATHER’S DAY

On this occasion, children appreciate their father for supporting them emotionally, mentally and even financially and get to know that how much a father is important in their lives. Children offer gifts and gratitude to their father. This helps to bridge up a stronger bond between a child and a father. Being a father is sharing half of the parental bond with their children. They bestow unconditional love and not expecting anything in return.

Indian education system and its reformation

Learning is elementary to education and a skill that allows a person to improve his personality.  Apart from being a basic necessity, a good education skill can overcome many personal and professional barriers. Learning being central and basic to education and lack of education can create disturbance in society. Education and learning and its development are important for a person who desires to exchange information meaningfully to the person and places required.  We as a human being started developing knowledge as a proper source to learn something as it also helped in self-control and to develop a character for better development as an individual as well as the society. We as an individual made ourselves to learn about many different things about social, awareness, grooming personality and foremost are the preservation of culture for the coming generation. However, with changing time education has become integral part of human.  Especially in many developed and developing countries it is now termed as a basic human right.

Education in modern India

Macaulay was the man behind the start of education in India (as per internet suggestion) introduced education in India, especially through his famous minute of February 1835. He called for an educational system that would create a class of Anglicized Indians who would serve as cultural intermediaries between the British and the Indians.

Current education system in India

Education is always an integral part of life students’ life. Despite being a nest to many education universities, colleges and varsity, India still lacks the quality education it needs to have. According to a survey India will be ranking 3rd among all countries by 2020 in education. Though if the quality of overall ranking of relevant institutions is seen clearly, out of 500 there were 2 Indian Universities and varsities were featured in the list along with one institution from China as per a survey by education group done in year 2000. Education system in India including other developing countries like India needs substantial expansion. The percentage of students taking higher education is hardly about 13 % whereas the same is varying between 28 to 90 %, across the world. The lowest % being 28 % and the same is as high as 90 % in developed countries (As per a news report)

Why India lacks

  • Over Population: Too many people and limited seats makes student worried of career.  Concerned over future and aspiration to get ion a good college is the main reason of brain drain.
  • Course choice: mainstream subjects like math science are being taught by world class teachers but good institute for off-bit courses like music and painting is tough to find.
  •  Lack of quality higher education in India

The benefits of an education abroad

Studying abroad has always been associated with improving the chances for a distinguished career prospects. Indians willing to study abroad has seen a sheer increase in the past few years According to recent estimates by RBI (reserve bank of India) latest figures in its monthly bulletin, outlays on education and maintenance of close relatives grew 88% to $334 million and 21% to $300 million, respectively.

Few reforms need to be done.

  • Career oriented learning program: There is need to have courses that could guarantee job placement.
  • Job opportunities –the basic need of a student is to have a secure future that can only be achieved by acquiring a good position in their dream organization.

Hope for the future

There has never been an age that did not applaud the past and lament the present.

“The illusion that times that were are better than times that are has probably pervaded all the ages,” said Horace Greeley.

The Prisse Papyrus, dating back six thousand years or more – the oldest bit of known writing in existence – starts off with these startlingly familiar words: “Alas, times are not what they used to be!” And in one way or another people have been saying that same thing in all the centuries since.

For in the long panorama of man’s progress through the centuries, the trend has been upward, always upward. The way has not been smooth or straight; it has been broken periodically by failures and mistakes, by crushing setbacks and catastrophes, by dark periods of war and depression. But always, irresistibly, the element of progress has been at work. Always, out of every great struggle or disaster, has come a new dawn, a rebirth of life and spirit, the powerful surge of progress carrying man onward and upward again.

Nevertheless, in time of crisis people tend to lose faith in future. Today, too, there are many who feel we have reached the end of progress, perhaps the end of civilisation. There are many who feel the future holds only darkness and despair. It is true of course, that we are faced today with some of the most difficult and trying problems the nation has ever known. It is true that the recent past does not encourage confidence or peace of mind. With half the world in ruins, with millions of people worried and confused, haunted by the spectre of atomic war, it is difficult to believe that there is an element of progress at work.

But we have come through serious crises before… and America has grown stronger with each succeeding crisis. The times may be “ piled high with difficulty,” as Lincoln said in another, earlier period of crisis, but we must rise with the occasion. “ We cannot escape history!”
No; we cannot escape history. But we can learn much from the lessons of history. We can gain strength and courage and understanding from the past , to help us meet the challenges of our own times. “If we but learn the lessons that shriek from the pages of history,” said Bernard Baruch in a recent address, “there is no handicap that cannot be overcome by will power, patience, and application!”

The ever-recurring evidence of history is that no time is as bad as it seems. This time, like all other times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it. Emerson’s inspiring words are true today as they were. The frontiers are never closed; the limits of progress are never reached. The future will be what we ourselves make it.

In the opinion of those best qualified to judge, the world is indeed far from doomed. They tell us, in fact, that in spite of the problems and the chaos of the hour, the future is bright with promise. Spectacular advances are being made in science, invention, technology. In the United Nations the dream of centuries has at last taken shape, and hopeful beginnings have been made toward world unity and a lasting world peace. We are standing at the threshold of an exciting new era of development, at the beginning of enormous progress in every direction. The most challenging opportunity of all history lies before us.

If you doubt this, if you live in fear and dread of the future-there is nothing like a little perspective.

HOW PHOOLAN DEVI BECAME A BANDIT QUEEN (part 1)

She belonged to a  poor rural family in Uttar Pradesh and was married at a very young age of 11 years with Puttilal Mallah. He was three times older to her, she tolerated endless beatings and sexual abuse by her husband. When the situation became intolerable, after several attempts she finally ran away and returned to her family.

Starting of imprisonment

After some time, Maya Din (her cousin), remembering the insult that he faced due to phoolan in childhood, went to the cops and accused her of stealing his belongings. The cops kept Phoolan for almost three days and abused her, and then let her go with a threat to behave better in the future and live peacefully without battling with her family or with anyone else. When she was released, her parents wanted her to return back to her in-laws as she turned sixteen, but they never accepted her. Somehow they took Phoolan, but she again returned to her parents(not virgin anymore). Her in-laws later stated that under any circumstances they will not take Phoolan back. Life as a Bandit was not at all easy. In 1789 she fell with a gang of Dacoits. Nobody knows whether she was kidnapped or her own insanity, she always regretted this juncture. The leader of the gang was Babu Gujjar, who raped, assaulted, and dehumanized her for three days. The second-in-command of the gang Vikram Mallah saved her as they both were from the same caste. Vikram Mallah killed Babu Gujjar due to a rape. The following morning, he became the leader of the gang. Though Vikram was married and so was she, they resided together. After a few weeks, their gang attacked the village of Phoolan’s husband. She herself dragged him on the road and left him almost dead with a note “older men not to marry young girls”. However, he outlived but with a permanent abdomen pain. After this incident as legally, he was her husband, villagers avoided his company due to the threat of the gang. She then learned using a rifle from Vikram and became a gang activist across the UP- MP border in Bundelkhand. Activities such as kidnapping for ransom, visiting villages looting wealthy upper-caste society were a part of spreading threat and caste discrimination.

Phoolan’s tongue was actually a problem for every other gang member as the gang consisted of mixed caste members.

Vikram’s death.

The trouble began within the gang itself resulting in Vikram and Phoolan standing on the same side and the rest of the gang members on the other as the majority of the gang later had Rajputs. Soon after a gunfight happened. Vikram and Phoolan escaped, yet they were later chased and Vikram Mallah was shot dead. Phoolan was taken to the Rajput-dominated village of Behmai by her, not so-called gang members, where she was locked, raped, and molested by gang members of upper-caste for a span of three weeks. They even paraded her uncovered throughout the village. Then she again managed to escape with the help of low caste villagers and gang members involving Man Singh. Later they became lovers and set up a new gang.

Murders in Behmai

Revenge was in her blood, after the escape she returned back. She demanded to confront the one who was responsible for the assault but couldn’t find it. To spread fear she then took young men of the village and aligned them and shot 22 men. Every department tracked her but failed as she had the support of needy ones.

Vikram taught Phoolan, “If you are going to kill, kill twenty, not just one. For if you kill twenty, your fame will spread; if you kill only one, they will hang you as a murderer.” This motivated her to kill 22 men of the upper caste.

She was assaulted so many times, didn’t give up, always came back for revenge. She has gone through every evil aspect including child marriage, rape, assault yet came to be fearless.

Radiation:A slow killer

It’s a term which instantly comes to our mind when we are blamed for overusing our mobiles and laptops or even sitting on the couch for innumerable hours, Radiation from any source is harmful to our physical and mental health and can have long term effects which can house many unwanted ailments.

The movement of energy in the form of waves through any medium/material is known as radiation, even though technology has turned the tables and offered various advantage and been a saviour at times, it can also be a slow killer. According to scientists its ionizing radiation which cause damage to skin, tissue, cells and DNA etc.

Be it mobile towers, laptops, microwaves, bombs, x-rays and even certain chemicals, long term exposure of these to these components can do collateral damage to humans, they all emit harmful radiation which can alter and damage our DNA and can also lead to cell mutation and other diseases. One of the most common examples is cancer.

One of the biggest devices which can harm humans is mobile towers or cellular towers, many people allow the companies to set up their cellular towers near their housing complex as the companies fund these people, they lure people by using money as a means to close their mouths, the rays from cellular towers can cause mutation of tissue cells and can damage tissue present inside our muscles. eventually in the long run it’s the people living near these towers who will be prone to worse case scenarios and will do harm to others as well. But many scientist claim this theory to be absolutely illogical and state that there are no harmful emissions from mobile towers.

When it comes to emission of these harmful bodies even the marine animals are greatly exposed to these radiation leading to death in huge number or even mutation.

X-ray machines also emit strong waves, long term exposure to x-ray machines and frequent exposure to these machines would lead to tumour formation and unwanted changes in the body whose effects can pass on to the next generation. The waves are smaller in size and are ionized and can lead to dismay.

Certain chemical emitted from factories through air ,gas or even water have shown eye opening and shocking changes when people were exposed to it, the absorbtion of these chemical through water, food or even air can lead to genetic mutation and these deadly changes can pass on for generations, carcinogens like  benzene, beryllium, asbestos, vinyl chloride and arsenics.eg-many houses situated near factories especially in villages whose emissions are mixed in the air and water have become the source to numerous skin care diseases, disabilities, deformities and cancers.

One of the most devastating incident which left behind incurable wounds which have been passed on to the coming generations was the Bhopal Gas tragedy, One could literally notice the faults and imperfections in the new-borns of the victims of the gas tragedy, one eye missing, cleft lips or skin ailments. Such tragedies can hamper mental and physical growth and can also cause trauma which can become host to mental disorders like PTSD.

Radiation from nuclear explosions is also common especially in countries like Afghanisthan and Syria which all year around are bound by war between allies and enemies. The (35%) thermal, nuclear(15%) and blast(50%) energy produced from mighty explosions can cause severe damage along with the physical destruction it causes to its surroundings.

When it comes to emission of these harmful bodies even the marine animals are greatly exposed to these radiations leading to death in huge number or even mutation.

UVA and UVB rays from the sun can cause numerous ailments like cataract and skin cancer and do a huge amount of damage to the environment as well as the ozone layer. One of the main reason of coral bleaching in the great marine reef is the absorption of Ultra violet rays.

We can clearly see the radical changes which radiation has caused and we can do our bit by exposing ourselves less to these harmful objects.

Role Change: Soap in COVID-19 Times

What is the first thought that comes to our minds when we hear the word ‘soap’? Of course, it is the one little thing which washes away dirt from the body. For a long time it has been in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) market as a basic bath product. But recently it is having a makeover of sort. In the COVID-19 times soap has earned fame as an essential health care product in India. The Indian Council for Medical Research and front line health workers are making people aware of the necessity of soaps in fighting the possibility of infection. There has been a huge increase in demand for various kinds of soaps— from the pocket friendly to the expensive.

Initially the official announcement was that we can only protect ourselves if we use hand sanitizer before and after touching anything. This started panic among the common people. They would rush to the nearest stores and start buying bulks of hand sanitizer bottles. It was pointed out that approximately sixty to ninety-five percent of ethanol or isopropanol should be there in hand sanitizers to work effectively. Soon they went missing from the market as the demand far surpassed the supply. Only a handful of people used to carry hand sanitizers all the time. They would be teased by friends that they have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) syndrome. Now those friends are also carrying hand sanitizers and actually using it all the time.

The next public announcement noted that use of any soap can be effective for protection. Due to the shortage of supply of sanitizers use of normal soaps was being highly recommended. People who did not get hold of sanitizers started to buy basic variety of soaps. The brand range was from Lifebuoy and Savlon to Dove and Palmolive. Healthcare workers advised people to wash hands for minimum twenty seconds every time. They also showed exactly how to do it. The normal hand wash with soap will not have proper result. The soap market was getting unprecedented response.

Various soap and detergent manufacturing companies are now coming up with unique advertisements to promote their brands ‘suitably’ in the pandemic times. Lifebuoy, the “hygiene brand” from Hindustan Unilever, is resorting to public service message showing the important steps to be taken to restrict the infection. It also claimed that Lifebuoy is the “world’s No. 1” to produce handwash and sanitizers with over 99.9% effectiveness against COVID-19. In an innovative approach Lifebuoy soap advertisements and commercials mention that people can also opt for other competitive brands, “whichever soap you have access to”. Proctor &Gamble’s lead brand, Ariel India, has a new socially-oriented commercial about sharing the workload equally at home. It shows the reality of households during the lockdown period where women work not just from home but also work for home. It has started a campaign— #ShareTheLoad for equal sleep. According to its survey, seventy one per cent women doing all household work sleep less than men. The commercial asks men to share the work equally with wives to lessen the pressure during the lockdown.

Dettol has also promoted its handwash to fight the coronavirus outbreak through a commercial. It shows some illustrative graphics as well as a handwashing guide scene shot by cell phones from homes of those involved in the making of the very commercial. Dettol India and NDTV are now collaborating in the mission Swasth India. Many political leaders and celebrities have joined the campaign Swasth Banega Swacch India. The main focus of the campaign is on hygiene and cleanliness. Top celebrities are also participating in the Dettol #HandwashChallenge through social media accounts to influence their fans to follow the official guidelines.

Coronavirus is infecting millions of people in the world. Several ways are being thought of to fight the dreaded virus. It seems that one major way to stay safe and healthy is to fight it with soap. If we take precaution in our own hands we need to have a soap in our hands.
