“Taste or Health – Man Against Oneself” ?

Evolution of mankind has led humans to different phases and eras of lifestyle with doors opened to every kind of facility, commodity and comfort. But all this came with all the great efforts and struggles of our ancestors who traveled from place to place in search of food and water initially, then shelter, knowledge, relationship, and many more. So there is and will be a lot more to learn from the finding and struggles of our ancestors. But we humans as we evolved, tried to shift towards things which fascinated us. So we hardly invested in things which were really necessary for us, especially our body truly needed it. The best and finest example for the same is food. Humans and its tribes have walked distances in search of better water and food resources so as to remain fit and healthy. But in today’s world we have totally shifted from the mindset of “What is necessary to our body and health towards What is necessary for our taste”. So doing all this we truly have deteriorated our health and immune system definitely.

Today’s youth has made a quick shift towards these junk and unhealthy foods and love eating it more oftenly. Variety of these outlets have also come up with big brand names around the world , which are into the business of these foods. But this food has affected humans in many ways, especially focusing on the Aggression and Patience level. So to know about this , a survey of around 23000 women who were pregnant was conducted who ate junk food while pregnant, with the one who ate healthy food. It was widely acknowledged that children whose mother ate more junk food during her pregnancy, the children came out to be more aggressive and less patient. Thus the effect of this junk food could widely be seen.

Junk food lacks the main nutrients, vitamins and protein responsible for helping normal humans to perform a number of activities in day to day life. Major thing which these lack is Omega-3 which is responsible for major functioning in our body and helps to fight anxiety and depression, and reduces heart related risk. This was also tested while experiments on Mice as mice-1 was given protein and vitamin rich good while other was provided junk food lacking, Omega-3 , so it was recorded that in the mice who’s diet was rich in vitamin, protein was seen to be calm and healthy whichever the one who’s diet lack vitamins and protein and basically Omega-3 show symptom of anxiety and stress by moving around.

Food and what we eat, do have an effect in our actions and decisions which we perform. If we eat healthy, our mind feels fresh and more often takes decisions in a calm and peaceful manner, while if we eat food which lacks these things, the conditions are reversed. This was seen I’m an experiment where 2 scenarios were taken.

  1. First case the participants were given junk food before the experiment.
  2. The participants were given healthy, protein, and vitamin rich food.

The experiment was like that there will be two participants and the other participant will have 10 dollars, it’s his choice how he divides it between two. If you take the money irrespective of how it is divided, it’s yours but if you challenge the issue of division, then both lose and no one takes the money.

  1. So in the first case when participants went after eating junk food. They show some actions of aggression and impatience. The other participant divided 10 dollars as 2:8 . Which means that the participant would get just 2 dollars whichever the one dividing kept 8 . Most of the experiment resulted in no one taking money, as they fight back for equal share. This all came out if their sudden action due to lack of patience and thinking about.
  2. While in the second case where participants had better food, they seem to be calm and composed. When the other participant divided in the same ratio of 2:8 . Most of the participants believe to take more money than nothing.

So this shows that how food really affects our day to day actions and thus relates reactions to whatever we do.

There are many more significant researches which do show that how our eating habits do affect our actions, our way of dealing with tasks on day to day bases, and surely our health. So one must try to eat healthy food, irrespective of how it tastes or one likes it or not. It is the need of our body and we require it for performing day to day task in the right and peaceful way. One can have these junk for once in a while but including them in day to day lifestyle would surely have a bad impact on our “health” and surely our “relationship“.

“So one must focus on eating healthy , living healthy and thus behaving healthy”.

“Child Labor – A Question To Humanity”?

Today’s era has become completely the opposite world which man ideally ever thought of. Clean environment, fresh water to drink and pure air to breath, with no discrimination and everyone considered equal under god’s eye and especially the Constitution. But man had changed and challenged various aspects as per his own greed and worked forward with them so for his own good. This isn’t limited to the innocent living beings also, the ones.Considering the fact and the greed to just let the work being done,he hasn’t let children out of these and rather indulge them at such an early stage of their life so as to get his work done.Life hasn’t been so easy for every individual as they stepped into the world. Nothing got them so easy going and rather had to sacrifice at an early stage of life. With a disbelief in such a act of child labor with around 152 million children around the world still in the act as per the survey till 2019. ..

Talking about child labor  which generally is banned in various countries, is still being practised around various parts of the world. These small children are let to do work by their parents so as to earn more money for their living. As per the reports of “International Labor Organization”,around 22000 of these innocent souls give their lives working around the globe each year. This is really a sad fact to hear, but is the hard truth, which these people who involve them at work don’t care. These children have been working in hazardous conditions, which is affecting their health and deteriorating day by day. It’s shocking that around 88 million of boys and 64 million of girls have been a part of this brutal act of child labor. Many of us believe that this shouldn’t be done and such kind of acts must be stopped, but still many of children every year are led to work at the age when they should study and enjoy life peacefully.

“Indian Constitution bans child labor under the fundamental rights which defines the right for and of children to be free and compulsory education. Under the age of 14 years. UNICEF has been working in the efforts to reduce and eliminate this acts of child labor through various laws and policies defining complete freedom for these innocents. But what really matters is the strong implementation of these rules, and to be followed around the world.”

We need to understand that every individual especially these innocent kids have the right to be and feel free and must not be forced to work even if they wish for before the age as per the law. They must be motivated to study and play which should help them grow both physically, emotionally and mentally. Every child must be treated equally irrespective of it’s background, caste and religion. Humanity is the biggest religion, which gives us the message to spread Peace, Harmony, Brotherhood and sense of Unity, and we must follow and respect it.

“We must not led our coming generation to be shown the darker path of life, struggles, hardships and pain are a part of life but at the right stage and age, don’t let them lose out their innocence in the greed of more money, let them live their freedom, with education and let them win the world with the rights they truly deserve”.

Importance of Career Counseling

After important milestones in education all folks faces this question ‘what next’ after class 10th, after class 12th and after graduation. Career counseling can help altogether the main milestones in one’s career. Firstly, to make a decision a stream and subject combinations, to make a decision the graduation course, and then, to make a decision the post graduation and career option

In school a helpless 16 year old is faced with the selection of varied streams – Humanities, Science with mathematics, science with biology and Commerce, and therefore the only career guidance he has is the opinion of his parents, his teacher’s judgment based on his marks and the comments of his friends and neighbors. A class 11th -12th student together with his subject combinations is flooded with agencies providing various entrance preparation and colleges luring his / her attention. What help he has parents, teachers and admission counselors whose only job is to put the scholar in college and course where they’re going to get commission. A graduate who is doing the course because the oldsters wants him/ her to try to to it or he wasn’t sure of the other and thus is doing the course is also confused about career choices.

We strive to form a progressive world today, where technologies are booming there are many opportunities with various fields where one can make a far better career so guidance provides guidance to an individual to possess a transparent glimpse on what to pursue and the way much duration it takes to finish the course and costs .In today’s world there are also multiple career choices starting from medicine to mass communications, engineering to event management, marine biology to information technology, culinary arts to music.

Choosing a field of study that’s not really suited to your interests or skills could prove disastrous. And that’s where career counseling comes in.

How career counseling works?

Career Counseling involves scientifically developed aptitude tests and personality tests that helps a career counselor give the simplest suited career advice to the scholar supported his report of his aptitude and personality. Human capacities are infinite and may never be measured, nor are we to gauge of what one can do. Every person has unique characteristics, for everybody has his or her own strengths and weaknesses. The key is to identify these unique qualities is through Psychometric Test and career counseling.

What does career counseling offer?

Making an Informed Choice to Choose a Career

Career counseling sessions helps the students to know the pros and cons of the different streams, courses and educational options and the career path it offers, thus the students can make an informed choice, and obtain a career assessment that helps avoid the danger of change in career path later in life. The importance of pinpointing the work cut out for every person can only be gauged when one sees the agony of utmost job misfits. So a career counseling and guidance is needed to help organize ones thoughts and ideas on career related decisions. It can boost the morale and confidence and provides new directions to the scholars which can be beneficial for the entire society. Career counseling helps students discover their true potential and interest in various subjects so as to assist them choose the proper career. Several institutes, including schools and colleges, today offer guidance through a series of aptitude and IQ tests. The tests usually have multiple-choice questions, which don’t got to be prepared for in any way.

Guidance to students

Career counseling is that the guidance given to a student on the road he/she should fancy achieve his/her goals. The advice and counseling provided is predicated on three deciding factors — personality, aptitude and interest.

No confusions

Friends and family can fairly often provide incorrect guidance because their parameters of judging a career choice might differ. A counselor is objective while giving guidance, with no considerations aside from aptitude and interest.

Job Satisfaction

Choosing a career that matches one’s aptitude and personality itself translates into professional success and recognition . The main aim of guidance is to assist students choose a field that’s in tune with their skills and their job expectations. Thus, with the assistance of guidance , most candidates find yourself choosing the proper career, and perform their utmost , which ultimately helps them succeed.

Though not many faculties in India give guidance to students, if your school doesn’t provide you professional counselors, you’ll always seek the assistance of independent counselors. It is always better to hunt professional guidance instead of choose something that the entire herd goes for.

Challenges Associated with Career Counseling

Encouraging Parents and students to take part in counseling is very difficult as people still have a perception that it is time-consuming.

For example in India, there are still 60% of individuals who don’t take career advice 70% of individuals under 14 say they need had no careers advice while 45% of people over 14 have had no or very poor/limited advice.

Over the previous couple of years, there has been a rise within the number of scholars choosing courses aside from engineering. While this is often a positive sign, there’s no doubting the very fact that engineering still remains a dominant choice of scholars pursuing higher studies.

People in India still have a perception that Government service is a secure career so they hesitate to take part in counseling sessions.
Financial problems often provide a drawback in students career even if he/she is good in studies students they visit the career fairs but fails for admissions due to lack of money.

Understanding University Rankings 2020-21

The present generation is said to be the generation of competition. Let it be student or the institutes they are enrolled, is having a fierce competition to top the list. Students get their list posted by the universities, likewise universities look to some rankings published worldwide and one national level. India has its personal college ranking system called NIRF(National Institutional Ranking Framework), launched on 29th September 2015, by MHRD. Similarly there are some international ranking system, for e.g. QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking, Shanghai Ranking, Times Higher Education ranking, etc. Thus, every college wishes to top these ranking list issued by those ranking system.
Today, the NIRF issued its list of college ranking in India, ranking IIT Madras with the score of 89.93 as the top college of the nation, followed by IISc Bangalore. This list came after a day QS Ranking released its world university ranking, which in contradiction to NIRF, listed IIT Bombay as top college of India. Though its not in even top 100 colleges, worldwide. MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), has topped the QS world rankings, followed by Stanford and Harvard.
Differences in NIRF and QS.
QS world University Ranking was first issued in 2004(in partnership with THE) and then in 2010(on its own). It is published from United Kingdom, whereas, on the NIRF part, it was launched in 2015, for the ranking of universities in India. Both the ranking system has different way of deciding the ranks of colleges.
NIRF ranking is based on the following parameters:-
• Teaching
• Learning and Resources
• Research and Professional Practices
• Graduation Outcomes
• Outreach and Inclusivity
• Perception
Whereas QS ranks on the basis of the following parameters:-
• Academic Reputation- 10%
• Employer Reputation- 40%
• Family/Student Ratio- 20%
• Citations per Faculty – 20%
• International Faculty Ratio- 5%
• International Student Ratio- 5%
Several Asian countries have been criticising the QS ranking, for not listing their colleges on a better position. They say the western method of deciding the ranking won’t represent the South Asia Universities well. Thus this led to other ranking system like the Shanghai Ranking.
Shanghai Ranking was started to represent the Chinese Institutes, on a world level, they focus on research rather than user experience. Thus, India also felt that there’s a dire need to have its own ranking system as the western methodology wasn’t the parameter on which the Indian Institutes could do well, and have a bad representation.
As NIRF is currently under a developmental phase, it has numerable faults and are not accurate. There is a possibility that institutes can change the data number and tamper its ranking inorder to get Government fundings. But, no such case of data tampering is registered. Though a random change of college ranking is observed in last few years. NIRF still needs to be standardised and optimised, to rely on world ranking systems like THE, QS, and Shanghai ranking.
Statement given by Hon’ble HRD minister Ramesh Pokhrial Nishank, on the QS ranking is unacceptable, till NIRF itself is well organised. The minister said, “I don’t agree with QS and THE ranking. Graduates of our institutes are now heading the global leading organisations. They give us low ranking based on perception and I do not agree with it.”
Though on logical ground, he might be correct but on a statistical one, MHRD needs to research on their part.
Thus, if you are planning to join any college post lockdown, prefer the world rankings or if NIRF is to be preferred then see last year’s data, stability is the only assurance on our part.
The top Colleges ranked by NIRF are as follows:-
• IIT Madras
• IISc Bangalore
• IIT Delhi
• IIT Bombay
• IIT Kharagpur
• IIT Kanpur
• IIT Guwahati
• Jawaharlal Nehru University
• IIT Roorkee
• Banaras Hindu University
The Top 5 Indian colleges ranked by QS Ranking:-
• IIT Bombay- 172nd Rank
• IISc Bangalore- 185th Rank
• IIT Delhi-193rd Rank
• IIT Madras- 275th Rank
• IIT Kharagpur- 314th Rank

the Musical Sounds

The sounds that a musical instrument makes  when a professional is playing is always melodious. When a person who is first time touching the instrument would  not be able to play the instrument so as to get a melodious tune. The professional uses techniques so that the sound he produces is soothing. He also  applies some techniques because he knows the physics behind the sounds produced by the musical instrument. Not to forget he/she also plays the instrument with passion and love, which is something to be admired, but for now lets learn the how does a bunch of strings on a guitar  or a tight diaphragm on a tabla produces such tuneful music.

Sound waves

Sound is a longitudinal wave which require material medium to propagate, for many instruments this medium is the air. When we apply a vibrational force in the medium, the pressure increases at that point and it propagates in all the direction, that is the pressure is being transported. What actually produces sound is that  the disturbance we have created in the medium and  forms  standing waves these waves interfere constructively in order to produce sound waves.   Lets see in details how is this disturbance produced in some of the popular musical instruments.

1. Flute

A flute is made up of wood, circular cylindrical shaped and with holes in between. There are columns of air present inside the instrument. When a person blows air through one of the holes, it makes the air column inside vibrate. This disturbance such that it creates high pressure inside, and pushes the air near the hole outside. As this happens the pressure inside decreases which sucks air back inside.  This produces waves and makes the air near the hole go back and forth which produces the sound. Different tunes of sound can be created by shutting different holes and the pitch can be changed by altering the volume of air being pushed inside.

This same principle can be applied for instruments such as  clarinet, saxophone etc.

2. Guitar

This is the most popular instrument, the speciality of guitar is that it is relatively easy to learn. It has rows of strings, which is tightly roped in two edges of the guitar( we can loosen or tighten it as the tune we want to produce). The disturbance in the medium is produced by strumming or strucking these strings. Guitar uses the principle of resonance to amplify the sound. The different strings produces various pitches as the vibrating length of each string is different. The sound produced in various instruments such as sitar, violin and piano has the same principle.

3. Drums

This instrument has a stretched  diaphragm, which creates disturbance in the medium while patting on it by hands or using sticks. The disturbances makes the air molecules just above it vibrate and this is transmitted to the audience.  The pitch of the instrument can be changed by changing the tightness of  the diaphragm, but its not easy to change this as we see for the guitar string. The other instruments that functions with the same theory is Tabla, Xylophones  etc.

As one can see, how dynamically different each instrument is. Learning the physics can make one interpret how the instrument works to produce sound. It is always good to learn a musical instrument because It increases your patience level as playing an instrument requires  vey much attention and sincerity. It also provides calmness to the body and  the soul. Playing a musical instrument is as relieving as doing yoga ,it clears your mind with all the tensions and helps solve all the problems. One can also compose music for self, it would be like a treasure, something they enjoy to do without seeking for its benefits. Lets start doing something for ourselves so that we can enjoy every bit of our lives.

“Do Psychological Halt -limit Our Actions” ?

It’s believed since centuries that whatever man things off, becomes the same. Thoughts and actions define the personality of a person and give a true definition of his/ her character. It has been often linked to the fact of psychology and how it has affected our day today life. Whatever man watches around, whatever happens around him do have an impact over his thoughts and definitely reflects in the actions. But why do we humans act according to our surroundings more these days, and instead of analyzing what actually needs to be done. There are various scenarios where even one needs to do a particular act but restricts himself from doing the same.

There are various psychological theories reflecting such behaviour of humans, but today we will analyze a few of them and how we actually are a part of these. These are really famous research based theories and define han behavior in day to day life. To these are:

  1. The Abilene paradox
  2. The Spotlight Effect

So describing each one of these initially we would try to understand what Abilene paradox and Spotlight Effect are.

So to make it simple to understand, “The Abilene paradox” is a scenario where everyone performs An activity or agrees with each other on some point of discussion which actually no one wants to. It usually explains agreement of people or number of individual but in reality they have some other opinions and views and in the fear of separation from the group, just agrees with one another. This act of human is generally focused out of individuals:

  1. Fear of separation from the group.
  2. Thinking of what other will think about the person, that how dumb he/ she is.
  3. Sometimes to limit the scenario of conflict.

These often lead to a result, where no one actually wanted to reach individually but just out of fear of separation from the group, they all agreed to conclude at a general consensus.

“The Spotlight Effect” has an effect on individual’s way of performing any task. The spotlight effect generally focuses as an effect which people usually visualize that everyone is watching them and noticing them. This effect usually has a greater impact on making any individual nervous whenever they are on stage, which they generally say as their stage fear. But as through the study and research in this field, it was acknowledged that other people usually pay less attention to others and the percentage is quite less, as compared to what the person thinks of it to be. It’s because other people are also under “The Spotlight Effect” and rather focusing on others, they have major focus on themselves being noticed. So whenever any individual feels nervous, he/ she may acknowledge this fact that they are just overthinking about their looks and performance and the other person is hardly concerned about it.

So these psychological acts do affect our day to day activities and the way we perform, but what really matters is to step up for yourself and your views irrespective of what others may believe for the betterment. We all need to build  up the confidence to face the world without fear, and thus bring out the change we truly desire”.

How to grab internships?

My connections often ask me how to get an internship? What preparations do we need to do to get an internship? How you prepared that you got so much internships? So, i thought of publishing an article that might help you all in getting your answers.

A Guide to Starting Your Career Off Right

Consider Your Qualifications

One of the most common misconceptions that students have about how to get an internship is that they must apply to every position that catches their eye to increase their odds. But this is a sure-fire recipe for radio silence from recruiters and hiring managers. Instead, think about the skills and experience you currently possess, and which positions you might be a good fit for based on that information. A few ways to narrow down which internships are right for you:

Think about your degree

Look up common career fields and job titles for people with your major.Consider your experience: Think about your previous work experience, and which roles it might prepare you for. A student working at a campus newspaper might consider a journalism internship, while a student who tutors for a statistics class may want to look at data science internships.

Identify transferable skills

Skills that help you succeed in school or in the student organisations you participate in — such as organisation, critical thinking and time management — will all be useful in the working world. Some quick research should reveal which jobs require these skills.

Explore your interests

With how much time you spend at work, you want to make sure you enjoy it! Write down a few career fields that interest you, and search internships in those areas.

Start small

Don’t feel pressured to get your dream internships right away, especially if you have no prior work experience. Start by exploring small local organisations, groups affiliated with your school or volunteer work in order to bolster your resume.

Know Where to Look

Once you have a more concrete idea of which internships would be the right fit, it’s time to see what’s out there! Here’s how you can do that.

Visit Job Sites

Websites like LinkedIn , Internshala have millions of job listings, so you’re bound to find something that’s right for you. You can search for the internship titles you’re interested in, and narrow results down by location, size, industry, company ratings and more.

Leverage Your Network

Getting a personal recommendation can make all the difference in your internship search, so make sure to reach out to friends, family, colleagues, classmates, professors and alumni to see if they know anyone hiring.

Prepare Your Application Materials

No matter what job you apply to, there are a few key materials you’re going to want to have on hand. Here are the most common ones, and how to perfect them before you apply.

Resume

Resumes are brief documents that showcase your skills, education and professional background. Typically, resumes will contain your name and contact info, education, professional summary, work experience, skills and additional experience.

Social Media Profiles

Many recruiters use social medias to recruit— some may even require a link to your social media profiles. So, if you haven’t already, you may want to create a professional social media profile, especially on a networking site like LinkedIn.

A few best practices to follow as you polish your social media presence:

Choose a professional headshot for your profile picture.

Add relevant work experience as applicable.

Keep it appropriate — delete any suggestive references or pictures.

Share and engage with relevant industry content.

Hope, this will help you all in getting your dream internship.

CLASSES OVER CORONA

It has been almost 3 months, since the country is locked down, every street was empty and busiest places were lonely. All Organisation and institutions were shut down, and advised to work from home. Same was the educational institutions such as schools, and colleges were said to shut down, amidst of the running final exams and terminal tests, which was coming near. No one knew when the schools and colleges will open next and take the pending exams. So, the cases rose, and the chances grew slim of reopening of the schools, so a new way of teaching was introduced, the online class, which undoubtedly failed, as India has the majority students from the rural areas, which has poor connectivity of Internet, which makes them, inattentive in the classes. The same online way of taking examination was also introduced, but was opposed by the same majority of students. Still the institutions are in limbo, and are confused about what to do next.
As several board exams were pending and must be taken. The Central Government announced  dates and gave the students an option to held the pending board exams between 2nd July to 13th July 2020. This decision of govt. is opposed nationwide by the students and their guardians. As now, in the 2nd week of June, the current active cases in India is around 1.5 lakhs, and India is among the top 5 corona affected countries in the world. This step of taking examinations 1 month later, would make the young lives vulnerable to virus. And eventually a hike in cases nationwide.
But, its not just the CBSE, which is desperate to take examination, State Boards, Universities, Colleges are no exception. No sooner did the CBSE announced the dates, all rushed into announcing their dates of examination.
This led to a mass campaign on twitter ‘#StudentsLivesMatter’ inspired from ‘#BlackLivesMatter’. Several petitions were signed on change.org to urge the govt. to cancel the examinations as those can affect the student’s health and rise the cases in country. In response to such mass opposition, several state governments and universities decided to cancel the semester exams of 1st and 2nd year students, but final year students had to appear in the finals. Again, this decision was opposed, which caused too much confusion among students. Kerala took the exams for final year, in between of this chaotic situation. Thus, a student committed suicide, as she was accused of cheating during examination, as she couldn’t prepare for her exams. Though exams were cancelled for the final year students, too, but at a cost of a student’s life.
Although, the final year exams were called off, by several universities, still some universities like the CUSAT, is taking PG final year exams from home. It will be a open book test. Still, it don’t risk any student’s life. Students will safely appear in exams from their respective home. University also said, those who can’t have network connectivity, can mail their answers afterwards to the university. Inspite of such mass opposition, the CBSE and State Boards are obstinate to take Board exams in this mid-pandemic situation.
July is seen as the month of steep rise in Covid cases, by several medical institutions and experts, though many exams are scheduled in July. The month starts with CBSE, and other state’s pending Board exams, and then comes JEE(JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION) Mains which is to be appeared by approx. 12lac students, scheduled from 18th July to 23rd July. It is followed by NEET(NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY ENTRANCE TEST), to be appeared by 15lacs students, scheduled on 26th July 2020. And many more private universities and state funded colleges will take their entrance exams. Eventually, students will need to rush to their examination centre city, from their home, if in any rural area. Such this movement will violate the norms of social distancing and make the students vulnerable to the virus.
The way institutions and governments are desperate in taking exams, shows how our education system is focused and cares only about grades. No such steps to enforce the daily classes have been taken by universities. But, the way, they are acting to take exams won’t give India a better future, rather it might take the India’s youth on tablets and isolation wards, or even worse, on ventilation. Thus, against such obstinate decision, parents have moved to Supreme Court to either postpone or cancel the pending exams, which are scheduled from 2nd July 2020.
Today, a new hashtag was trending on twitter ‘#HealthOverExams’ which clearly shows students and guardians are not in mood of appreciating exams in mid of this panic-pandemic situation. They have already made clear that their kids won’t go to school until there’s zero case in the country. Thus govt closed the schools till 15th August. Similarly the students who are said to appear for exams in this chaotic situation doesn’t seem to compromise with their health over any exams.

INDIA MOVING TOWARDS SELF RELIANCE

Progress of India towards self-reliance is governed by certain pressing issues and their timely solution to achieve self-reliance. India has succeeded in keeping the rate of spread of Coronavirus which has caused a lot of injury to the social and emotional status of the society and created obstacles for India in achieving the aim of becoming self-reliant and seek self-sustenance.

If we look back to the days when economic reforms were introduced in the 1990s that gradually brought improved result in bringing the economy on the right track and resulted in improvement in the living standards of the people. However, we could have put in more thrust on technological and related advancements. This lacuna surfaced because of the trade policy on import and export of the goods.

The Central Government is now focusing more on development of infrastructure, usage of technology to optimum, upliftment of human resources. This is the right time when India can revive the economy by bringing about some major changes in the usage of available resources with the help of penning down new methodologies.

Issues that have caused hindrance for India’s progress towards self-reliance are; keeping away from full open markets that aligned with globalization, rate of production and manufacture, China playing an indispensable role in the Indian economy, Centre-State face off in concurrent sectors particularly agriculture.

If we shift our focus towards the solutions available to us viz. the availability of trained and skilled workforce for self-sustenance, shifting the dependence of manufacturing from China to India. India has a considerable young population strength that can be trained to attract new investments from global manufacturing giants. Optimum utilization of Indian human resource can set a new trend in the global economy. India is a ground for development and also a market with a huge potential for finished goods.

India possesses relevant aspects for generating the demand and consumption of the supply which can boost Indian self-sustenance. At the same time, while striking the balance between opening more areas for investment, India needs to seek healthy competition among the local and regional level. An opportunity to recognize the scattered local expertise of the Indian people in creating hand made useful things.

Policies can be framed to give more inclination towards local innovative crafts and skills so that they survive capitalism. Increasing control over agricultural products, defence sector, public health system and developing an indigenous chain of supply will enhance the self-sustenance. Increasing transparency in government purchase system adopting global procurement standards can enhance the rate of provision of material for expecting real-time growth.

India can focus on areas where it can shoulder the leadership and invite the investors. Usage of technology for the growth of Indian subcontinent is still underexplored. The world has turned virtual and advancement towards artificial intelligence and automation is the need of the hour. Hence, it can be summed up that framing real-time policies that focus more on meeting the results and adequate pumping of resources for proper development of education sector, health sector and catering for training the human resources will take India a step closer to achieve self-reliance.

INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM

Although we are developing in the other sectors but our education system is still not developing. And if we talk about the future of education system, it totally depends on how we are developing our education system at present. If we see our way of teaching and our institution both are lacking in fulfilling student’s needs.

As we know and many psychologists had also proven that good learning depends on how much the child is satisfied with their basic needs and their surrounding environment. But if we look at the facilities present in government and public school, the facility is very poor. Schools don’t have proper drinking water, toilets which lead to droupout of many students especially girls when they start menstruating. Some schools even don’t have proper desks and fans in school. We can sit for even an hour without fan, cooler or AC so, how can we expect these children to study in these conditions.

Apart from that if we talk about the teaching style and the curriculum, there are many things which are lacking in these. In our schools, education means making our children learn or we can se memorize theories and facts so that they can clear exams. Teacher teach them by giving stimulus and the children only have to respond. They condition students to behave in a certain way, where there is no use of mind. So in our schools, children (humans) are taught to memorize and write exams and taught in the same way as animals are taught to do stunts in circus i.e., they just have to imitate. In our schools, the whole focus is on result, teacher don’t even thought about what the child learned and how much he/she improved. There are no spaces where the child can explore, think in his/her own way of responding, doing experimentation, finding reasons and so on.

There is no inclusion in our education system and curriculum. Our education system is very much class or society centred i.e., working for a particular class or society. The languages we use in our classes i.e., Hindi and English are the standardized language which is very difficult for children coming from other background. There is no space for mother tongues in schools. The homework in small classes are usually those in which children need parent’s help or sometime the major or full work is done by parents only. So it creates a lot of difficulty for first generation learner.

Our education system is just like the race in which you have to complete this in a given period of time and there is no space for mistakes.

In this kind of education system, the children who can afford other facilities such as tutors, you tube videos, and whose parents are educated doesn’t find any problem but what about the child who is the first generation learner, who can’t afford other ways of learning, who can’t get exposure to our so called standard language i.e., English or Hindi, since childhood. These differences present in the school lead to droupout of these children from school.

So if our present education system continue to be like this, we never able to ‘educate’ our children. We will only able to make machines who can receive stimulus and give response. These are also only some children, because other children do not even included in our education system.

If we really want to educate our students and make our education system better in future we should try to improve our education i.e.,both our education institutions and our way to teaching. It is necessary that education should be provided in the sake of building a knowledgeable and better future leaders, not in the sake of making money. The real focus should be on what the students are learning not on the results. It is necessary to critically and honestly think about our education system and the problems present. Essential steps should be taken to improve our technique and infrastructure so that we are able to make our education system better in future, otherwise without a good education we are not able to develop in any sector.

HRD minister announces

The queries about University examinations, re-opening of schools, CBSE exams and results have been answered by Union Human Resource Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank. The minister gave clarity regarding the education sector of India.

Board exam at home centres: The minister said that since there is a problem in travelling and reaching the centres of CBSE Board, the students may inform their schools about their location which in turn would be informed to the Board by the school. Thus a child would not have to travel in this tensed atmosphere and reach the centres that are nearest to them to appear for the boards that are to be conducted in July.

Safety of students giving exams in July:  When asked if it would be safe to conduct the exams in July as it would be the peak of COVID 19, the minister said that the government will see, observe and then continue the conduct of exams, As of now the Board dates have been decided from July 1 which would be conducted. The guidelines issued by MHA and health ministry would be followed very strictly by the Education ministry.

Entrance Exams delayed: The students are under a lot of pressure on their entrance exams being delayed. The HRD Minister said the government is trying its best to ensure that the students do not lose a year over the pandemic and thus have decided to conduct entrance exams maintaining all social distancing norms at the centres. Although the number of students is high yet the authorities would maintain the safety of students at all times ad centres have been increased to deal with such problems.

Reopening Schools: The minister was asked about school reopening safety and social distancing issues. He said that it is quite evident that the parents would be worried about their wards but it would be primarily important for the students to be protected and study in a sanitized way for the government too. He is in talks with state education ministers regularly. The schools in the states would have to follow all guidelines issued by the MHA.

NCERT, UGC Taskforce in place: The minister said that since the student population is more than 33 crore in India the UGC and NCERT task force is very helpful. Shifting to the online mode of teaching has been very fruitful in conducting classes as per the minister. He talked about Diksha, E Pathshala, SWAYAM, etc which are helpful platforms.

“Post Corona life – Better or Worse”?

Nature and its power is above the ability of humans to understand. Nature has shown it’s divine power at regular intervals of time and shown how helpless man becomes at a point of such calamities. Man has been destroying nature for its own good, cutting trees, polluting water and air, cutting down mountains and a number of endless tasks which has led our earth down and the quality of lifestyle in it. To make a balance and have an apt quality of the environment, nature has also stepped up in a number of ways, and who’s after effects have not always been in the favour of mankind. In present scenario also,we have encountered a natural pandemic which has challenged the mankind and has brought in the lifestyle of humans. This natural pandemic is “Covid-19”.This started around Nov-19 and is still in action with affecting the life of people all around the world.

But the main question which surely comes to the mind of each individual is that “how would be the life of normal people after this pandemic gets over, how will this transform their life and what mere changes should probably we would encounter in our life”.

So there are pros and cons of each and every thing which do exist on this planet. We might be blaming this pandemic as the way it has affected our life, but surely after this time period positive changes or some changes would definitely be seen in human lifestyle.

So the positive changes which could be seen in the day today routine of man could be :

  1. More investment would be done in the health sector, so as to fight such kind of pandemic in future.
  2. More buildings especially for hospitals and colleges of medical would be seen , thus would increase the employability but not initially.
  3. More R&D would be conducted in the field of medical science and better and efficient medical equipment would be seen.
  4. A new work culture would be seen, like from home. This could definitely be better as people would be free to work at their own flexibility and also pollution would seem to reduce.
  5. Harm to animals will surely seem to decrease and such awareness campaigns , highlighting care of every living being would definitely bring out the harmony between people.
  6. Many more facilities and positive outcomes would be available to see after this pandemic gets totally over.

But with the good, accompany bad, so bad outcomes of this could be:

  1. Initial loss to the economy, which may take time to recover.
  2. People may not be able to get over this fact psychologically and will impact their way of interaction with others.
  3. Loss of jobs of many individuals around the globe would be seen significantly.
  4. Tourism and other industries related to these would definitely see a downfall.

“So there would be harder times, and people would have to face hardships, but they still need to believe in humanity and fight against such pandemic in future with hand in hand and not against each other but with the essence of togetherness, brotherhood , empathy and compassion”
