Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life

Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life

Positive affirmations are positive statements or sentences about something that you simply wish to make in your life. These positive statements or sentences are repeated mentally or aloud. This process triggers the subconscious mind to accept them and start helping you to achieve them.

These positive affirmations are most helpful when repeated with faith and a spotlight . They get engraved on the subconscious mind, which in turn, looks for ways to make them come true.

Positive Affirmations Can Help in Many Situations
Positive affirmations can encourage you when facing a drag .
They can motivate you once you lack enough motivation.
They can inspire you when you need inspiration.
They can give you hope and inner strength in time of need.
They can help you build new, good habits.
They can help you fix your attention on your goals.
They can even attract to you the things you want.
Actually, you’ve got most likely used affirmations repeatedly , both negative and positive affirmations, without knowing that you simply are repeating affirmations.

What Are Positive Affirmations?
These are positive, inspiring and inspiring statements about something that you simply want to happen, get, or achieve.

Here are a few examples of positive affirmations:

“I can get this job.”
“I am going to get good grades at school.”
“I have love in my life.”
“I can shape my body and look good.”
“I am earning a lot of money.”
What Are Negative Affirmations
These are negative statements and words. A great number of people think negatively, have low self-esteem and expect problems, difficulties or bad things to happen to them. They often believe their problems, tell themselves how difficult life is, which they are doing not have money or that no-one loves them.

In this way, they recreate their negative reality, rather than changing it with the assistance of positive affirmations.

Here are a few examples of negative affirmations:

“I will never get a good job.”
“It is so tough to find love.”
“I am always so tired.”
“I can’t learn a new language.”
“I don’t have enough money.”
These negative statements make you feel bad, miserable and unhappy, and do not allow you to change your thoughts, change your viewpoint and change your life.

If, once you face problems and difficulties, you permit yourself to feel miserable, and repeat in your mind how miserable you’re , you’re making the issues and misery bigger and invite them into your life. You teach your mind to expect problems and difficulties and to look for them.
Positive Affirmations Can Change Your Life
On the opposite hand, if you refuse to wallow in self-pity and bad feelings, and instead, repeat positive affirmations about how you would like your life to be and the way skilled or talented you are, things will start to change for the better and they will continue to do so.

Repeating positive affirmations may be a very simple process, but you would like a particular positive attitude for them to figure . You should not allow your negative thoughts to win.

Congratulations : You have survived

Congratulations to everyone who have survived six months of this year. Accept the fact that you’re among the blessed ones.

Six months ago we welcomed this year with the usual zest and vigour expecting it to be a great one, but look at the irony it is a great and remarkable one but in a another way for us. This year will be remembered for centuries for causing so much suffering to the human race. In 2020 not only did COVID-19 entered our lives to make sure that it is converted into a pathetic one but also calamities like earthquakes, cyclones, oil spill, floods, suicides etc,etc have joined the list to reassure the same.

We never dreamt in our wildest dreams that beginning of a new decade is going to be so torturous. In this short span of half year multiple calamities have already claimed many lives and we really don’t know how many more lives they are going to claim in rest of the year. Human Suffering has just started and possibility is that many more such sufferings are awaiting us. This year will mark the survival of the fittest as well as the luckiest.

Many people are trying to be optimistic at this time and I really appreciate their effort because in times full of hopelessness these are the people who are bringing some hope in lives of others as well. Their this too shall pass phrase will give you a high for few hours and after that when you will read that WHO is saying that pandemic is not even close to being over, worst is yet to come your all hope will convert into hopelessness.

We can’t do anything about our future because we will never know what future has stored for us. We only have the present moment so let’s not waste in grieving.

Like Omar Khayyam has beautifully written:

Tomorrow’s fate, though be wise,
Thou canst not tell nor yet surmise;
Pass, therefore, not today in vain,
For it will never come again.

Know where you stand!

Definition: The quality of being conscious of one’s own feelings and character.

Self-awareness is a person’s knowledge of themselves and their worth as a person.

Self-awareness involves being aware of different aspects of the self, including traits, behaviors, and feelings. Essentially, it is a psychological state in which oneself becomes the focus of attention.

Self-awareness represents the capacity of becoming the object of one’s own attention. In this state one actively identifies, processes, and stores information about the self. This paper surveys the self-awareness literature by emphasizing definition issues, measurement techniques, effects and functions of self-attention, and antecedents of self-awareness. Key self-related concepts (e.g., minimal, reflective consciousness) are distinguished from the central notion of self- awareness. Reviewed measures include questionnaires, implicit tasks, and self recognition. Main effects and functions of self-attention consist in self-evaluation, escape from the self, and amplification of one’s subjective experience, increased self-knowledge, self-regulation, and inferences about others’ mental states (Theory-of-Mind). A neurocognitive and socio-ecological model of self-awareness is described in which the role of face-to-face interactions, reflected appraisals, mirrors, media, inner speech, imagery, autobiographical knowledge, and neurological structures is underlined.

self-awareness awareness;

Self-Awareness is having a clear perception of your personality, including stre weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self-Awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and responses to them in the moment.

importance of Self Awareness;

Self-awareness is important because when we have a better understanding of ourselves, we are able to experience ourselves as unique and separate individuals. We are then empowered to make changes and to build on your areas of strength as well as identify areas where we would like to make improvements.

How can you improve your self-awareness?

1. Meditate. Yes, meditate…

2. Write down your key plans and priorities. One of the best ways to increase self-awareness is to write down what you want to do and track your progress. …

3. Take psychometric tests. …

4. Ask trusted friends. ..

5. Get regular feedback at work.

Examples:

Self-awareness helps kids learn that how they see themselves may be different from how others see them. Kids who are self-aware are more able to recognize their strengths as well as their weaknesses. Self-awareness is a skill that helps kids with learning and attention issues learn self-reflection and self-advocacy.

Self-Awareness;

Self-Awareness is having a clear perception of your personality, including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self-Awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in the moment.

We might quickly assume that we are self-aware, but it is helpful to have a relative scale for awareness. If you have ever been in an auto accident you may have experienced everything happening in slow motion and noticed details of your thought process and the event. This is a state of heightened awareness. With practice we can learn to engage these types of heightened states and see new opportunities for interpretation in your thoughts, emotions, and conversations.

Having awareness creates the opportunity to make changes in behavior and beliefs.

Why Develop Self Awareness;

As you develop self-awareness you are able to make changes in the thoughts and interpretations you make in your mind. Changing the interpretations in your mind allows you to change your emotions. Self-awareness is one of the attributes of Emotional Intelligence and an important factor in achieving success.

Self-awareness is the first step in creating what you want and mastering your life.

Where you focus your attention, your emotions, reactions, personality and behavior determine where you go in life. Having self-awareness allows you to see where your thoughts and emotions are taking you. It also allows you to take control of your emotions, behavior, and personality so you can make changes you want.

Until you are aware in the moment of your thoughts, emotions, words, and behavior, you will have difficulty making changes in the direction of your life.

Self-Awareness in Relationships;

Having a clear understanding of your thought and behavior patterns help you understand other people. This ability to empathize facilitates better personal and professional relationships.

Being healthy even during the lockdown is as crucial as breathing. Staying miles away from obesity with a healthy mind is the main goal of fitness freaks. Active participation in projects, assignments, sitting, and working for a long duration may occur exhausting.

Lockdown exercises- Can’t spend time gyming? Lockdown has led us to sit at home. Eat, sleep, web series, and repeat. Lockdown diet- Lockdown has resulted in more food cravings as there is unavailability of fast food around the corners as well as no delivered food. Fitness is not only about spending hours at the gym but also about eating healthy.

As vegetables and fruits cannot be stocked for a longer duration, it’s necessary to grab high protein intakes like Chana, yogurt, nuts, and peanuts. The main reason for lockdown is Coronavirus and can only be defeated by strong immunity.

  • Copper:  This micronutrient helps in making red blood cells. It is rarely referred to though it plays a major role in maintaining a healthy body, including the normal functioning of the immune system. It is essential for development and all-around health. Food sources rich in copper are seafood (lobster, squid, oyster), nuts, beans (lentils, soybeans), fruit and vegetables, etc.
  • Iron: This nutrient boosts immunity and hemoglobin to eliminate fatigue. Some of the best food sources of iron include – egg, liver, beef, canned salmon, legumes (lentils, beans, and chickpeas), nuts (cashews and almonds), wholegrain cereals, dark leafy greens such as spinach, kale and broccoli, etc.
  • Vitamin D: Recently, a study claimed that low levels of vitamin D are linked to higher rates of COVID-19 mortality. Studies have also suggested that vitamin D may help protect against respiratory infections. Egg yolk, sardines, salmon, shrimp, and fortified foods such as orange juice, milk, yogurt, and cereal are rich in vitamin D.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: They are essential fats with many health benefits. Omega-3s can help fight depression and play an essential role in supporting the immune system. Foods that are high in omega-3 fatty acids are salmon, sardines, trout, catfish, herring, mackerel, chia seeds, flaxseeds, walnuts, spinach, etc.
  • Beta-carotene restores itself into vitamin A, which is an anti-inflammatory vitamin. Consuming one cup of the good sources of beta-carotene can give around 60-100% of the total daily amount of beta-carotene. To enhance your immunity include this in your diet. Carrots, spinach, sweet potato, moringa (drumstick) leaves, and pumpkin are all good sources of beta-carotene.  https://www.outlookindia.com/outlooktraveller/explore/story/70496/5-simple-hacks-to-eat-healthy-and-boost-your-immunity-the-right-way-this-lockdown

Say ‘NO’ to Toxic Relationship

“Someone can love you and still do things to disrespect you. But when Someone truly respects you, they won’t do things that they know will hurt you.”

Relationships are not always beautiful; many people face several issues in their everyday lives with their partners. But, there is a considerable difference between arguments and toxicity. To understand whether you are in a toxic relationship, here are a few points you want to look through. It never is easy to accept the fact that your partner might be toxic to you. So, read through the signs given below, and if they match with your situation, you need to say “NO” and get out of the toxic relationship.

Signs to know if you are in a toxic relationship:

  • Increase of mental stress: If you experience an increase in your mental stress, whenever your partner is around, you definitely need to get out of this relationship.
  • Presence of violence: If you go through regular physical abuse, in your relationship, you are definitely in a toxic relationship.
  • Frequent judgment: If you are always judged by your partner, for each and every action, be assured your relationship is definitely poisonous.
  • Narcissistic partner: If your partner is full of narcissism, and is more in love with themself, and has no time to spend in the relationship, you are definitely in a toxic relationship.
  • No interaction: If you and your partner lack communication and spend most of the time in awkward silences, or worse, on your mobile phones while being in the same room, you definitely need to rethink your relationship.
  • Avoiding each other: If you both tend to avoid each other’s presence and feel much happier when the other person isn’t around, you both have to move out of the relationship as soon as possible.
  • Immensely controlling habit: If your partner is hugely insecure and needs to control you to feel secure, you have to realize that this is not a healthy habit, and hence, leave the toxic relationship behind.
  • Cheating on you: If your partner cheats on you, and betrays you often, you need to come out of the relationship, and never look back. Don’t doubt your worth, because the other person didn’t realize your value.
  • Makes you feel unworthy: If your partner makes you feel less, or undeserving, you need to end the relationship with them, right then and there, because that would be the beginning of you doubting your self-worth, which leads to the poor mental condition later.

Staying single is much better than living in a toxic relationship. Most of the time, toxicity leads to depression. It becomes immensely hard to get the bad feeling out of the system once you are filled with self-doubt and lack of confidence. You need to put an end to toxicity, for your own benefit, to keep your self free from stress and physical hurt. Keep in mind that you need to report about your partner, if you go through physical harm, and take legal action against them. Don’t be afraid that you won’t experience love anymore. Trust me, one day, you would meet the person who would love you, and never even dream of hurting you in any way. All you need to do is work on yourself and wait for the right person!

Natural Disasters!

Natural disasters are complicated events of nature within which people are subjected to a multitude of risks and dangers. Floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis are among most frequent phenomenons and can affect the political and economical state of a country.

A natural calamity is defined as an event of nature, which overwhelms local resources and threatens the function and safety of the community. Some of the most common natural disasters that occur around the globe include:

1.Drought – Drought is a serious disaster which impacts the whole of mankind, wildlife, and vegetation greatly. It is particularly a curse for the farmers as it destroys their crops. Continuous drought-like situation also leads to the soil becoming less fertile. In a region that has been severely affected by a drought, mortality may increase sharply due to malnutrition and certain vitamin deficiencies, such as a lack of Vitamin A, can lead to specific consequences such as child blindness. Also long standing malnutrition can easily lead to increased rates of disease and mortality, and limit the general population’s functionality. It is a severe condition which interferes with the quality and functioning of life.

2.Floods – In comparison to other natural disasters, floods cause more damage to life and property. According to a recent study, around twenty percent of deaths caused by floods in the world, occur in India. The causes of flood include heavy rainfall, sediment deposition (river beds become shallow due to sedimentation thereby reducing the water carrying capacity of rivers. Hence, the heavy rain water over flows the river banks.) , deforestation (the land becomes obstruction free and water flows with greater speed into the rivers and causes flood.), cyclones , interference in drainage system etc. Humans and animals both are both affected by flood as several people are rendered homeless, houses are destroyed , industries are crippled, crops are submerged in flood water and domestic as well as wild animals die. Also outbreak of epidemics like malaria and diarrhea etc. are common after floods.

3.Earthquakes – Earthquakes are tremors or sudden shaking or trembling of the earth surface. Earthquakes can cause huge damage to life and property. When an earthquake occurs, all buildings , underground pipelines and railway lines are severely damaged or totally destroyed. Also the impact of the earthquake can be devastating to human life as thousands of people may die during the tremors (a short period). Also tsunamis are caused by earthquake which wreaks havoc on settlement of coastal areas and sinks large ships. Landslides and avalanches are triggered. Also earthquakes can result in fires as the earthquake severely damages the electric power and gas lines.

4.Landslide – Landslides are slipping of masses of rocks or debris downwards on the mountain slopes or banks of the rivers . The main causes of landslide include heavy rain , deforestation , earthquakes and volcanic explosions , building of roads and construction of houses and other buildings. Landslides impact and degrade the environment along with damage to several properties and lives lost.

There are several organizations and groups set up with the primary goal of being prepared for natural disasters who work on a global and local scale rescue work such that when a country or an area is badly affected by a natural disaster, aid is quick to come. Aside from those who have chosen to make disaster relief their life-work, when disasters hit, it’s the individuals who step in who help to make a difference.

TO BE HAPPY YOU DON’T NEED ANY REASON

I delight and live in the present. Just doing my duty whole heartedly with all my effort and dedication rest leave on god, never think about the result and worry about this just doing my duty properly. ABSOLUTELY no rue about the past, nor doubts about the future! I love living in present feel present and every moment feels great this way! If I live in past or future so I will spoil my present and if present is spoil so automatically future spoil.

You know, it’s great when you have a reason to be happy, mostly everyone needs reason to be happy and sad or showing any emotions, but when you have no reason, it’s like being a child – you just feel happy and celebrate it! No reason to be happy everything is to be happy. You are living this life this is reason, uh have family this is reason, just be happy with yourself.

Just relax and leave of all the issues, troubles and sadness in your heart and live in the here and now.

The problem is that we as humans, attach our happiness to bigger aims, bigger success our more expectations and meaning of life which is absolutely fine but in the process we undercut small things which can create happiness in our lives on a daily basis. We neglect all these small happiness or compromise these happiness for big aims. But this is wrong this small things, small happiness is the best in our life, which is true and pure.

find your own reasons or rather create them. No matter how small or large they may be but all you have to realize is that if you aint sad, you should be happy about it. An ordinary Person’s Guide to Empire by Arundhati Roy:A Book Review

(source: http://smithsonianapa.org/bookdragon/an-ordinary-persons-guide-to-empire-by-arundhati-roy/)

An Ordinary Person’s Guide to Empire is a major political work that has established itself to be one of the most informative and relevant texts of all time. Arundhati Roy begins the book with the question that is very frequently asked to her “how to confront empire”. It is a huge question and she says in order to address this question we must first learn what an Empire means and how it works in reality. “Empire” is a huge term that consists of a lot of things and In many countries it has led to the emergence of several dangerous by-products- nationalism, religious bigotry, fascism and terrorism.

Roy then goes on to explain the Indian condition where the Prime minister, the home minister along with the other “significant” figures are all members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), an ultranationalist Hindu guild which has openly admired Hitler and his methods.

A constant never-ending process of privatization is going on in India that eventually pushes people off their lands and out of their jobs. Hundreds of farmers are committing suicide while the elite journeys to their imaginary destination near the top of the world. Roy further talks about the violence that had taken place against Muslims in different parts of India and how it never really affected the main significant figures who never seemed to refrain from spreading their political propaganda. All they think and care about is money, goods, patents and services that are globalised.

An empire consists of all these things. This accumulation of power, the greatly increased distance between those who make the decisions and those who suffer them are integral parts of an empire and as pointed out by Roy, our sole purpose should include the vision of eliminating this very distance between these two class binaries in the society.
Roy moves on to discuss the suggestive methods we can take to dismantle this obscene accumulation of power. We must learn from our history. We must continue building public opinions.
She also puts forth the huge role the mass media plays in spreading this propaganda among people. The newspapers and others forms of media are gradually becoming “sponsored” and it plays a big role in manipulating and hegemonizing the common mass. One of our main tasks therefore should be to expose this hypocritical act of promoting and spreading fabricated misinformations.

She also talks about the incidents where the police have repeatedly opened fire and went on with their violent acts over common people for protesting against the violation of their rights, and every time media and other resources have reported these incidents to be provoked by violence from the opponent group of people. The poor and, in particular the Dalits and the Adivasi communities suffer the most when it comes to protesting for their basic human rights.
Roy goes on to explain how “peace is war” for most of the people in India- a daily battle against hunger, thirst and the violation of their dignity. War is nothing but an end result of a long-term flawed and putative peace.

The only way to make democracy real is to start questioning whatsoever has been static for a long time. We have to remember our freedom was never actually gifted to us but rather, wrested by us. And finally, we have to lose the terror of the mundane and at the very least we should go on trying to become peace correspondents instead of war correspondents.

Although many critics have argued that Roy’s perspective is biased and not neutral due to her supposed hatred towards the country and its governing bodies but the amount of awareness this particular book puts forward is unmatchable. It enables the readers to re-think and re-consider the preconceived conceptions and therefore I would highly recommend this book to every curious soul out there who enjoys taking up different perspectives through a political touch.

Why can’t I control my anger?

I know that I don’t become angry most of the time. But when I become I become mad. Today me and my father went for his hospital checkup and I am so frustrated to finish it quickly. I blame myself for being so irresponsible for acting insane. Why can’t I control anger at that particular moment and try to regret it later. One thing I understood today is never ever regret yourself regarding parents.

My father asked me to turn the bike right side to fill up the petrol. I got so angry and turned it left and went for a kilometre. My father repeatedly asked me to stop the bike. After a while either some one inside me or real me stopped it and handed over the bike to my father and waited there for my father to return back after filling petrol. I don’t know why I did it, but it’s me who did it and it’s me who is trying to blame myself. I later realised that, that was wrong. The only question I have is why can’t I realise before it’s happening. I don’t have work and got frustrated for such a small thing. The only thing he expected from me is a little time. I can provide it in a right way but I didn’t.

Everything happens for a reason. May be this happened to me inorder to make me realise. I hope atleast I try to be cool and never become frustrated. Anyhow Some love deep inside me towards him make me do what he wills me to do. But I become angry before doing it. I gain nothing by becoming such. I should be calm before speaking to my parents and never make them feel sad for becoming mad at that moment.

Can we control our feelings before expressing it? I want it, not only me everyone want to control their feelings. Doing wrong things and regretting it later is common these days. Try not to repeat what is repeated again and again. Thinking before acting is just a thinking. Have conscious over your speech. Words once spoken can’t be taken back. Words are powerful than swords. So don’t use them on your parents. Parents are parents whether you like it that way or not. Be patient towards your parents. Respect them, spend time with them because the time you are spending now is also given by them.

Happiness is not being happy but seeing your parents happy and making them feel happy. Atleast don’t make them feel sad if you can’t make them happy. If you can’t become the reason for their smile atleast try not to become the reason for their sorrow. Being good children to your parents is as tough as being a good father to your children. Try to be good child if you wanna become good parent. Everyone will realise the importance of being good children when children become parents. Being in that position makes everyone realise. But try to realise before it’s too late. Be a good child to your parents and be a good parent to your parents when they are in their old age.

How Peer pressure influence our lives…

Peer pressure is the influence on people by their peers due to which people start following their opinions and lifestyles. It also refers to considering a person or his opinion above all and give him/her the priority.

Peer pressure can be both positive and negative. Like if a person is peer pressuring you for a good cause like to study, to develop your skull, or achieve something good in life then it is motivation. The person is motivating you to achieve something good in your life which is essential for the growth of a person. But sometimes peer pressure leads you to the disastrous situation if it is for the bad cause.

So there are some advantages and disadvantages of peer pressure:

ADVANTAGES OF PEER PRESSURE

Peer pressure helps you to build your character, develop your skills and get master in a particular field. It also motivates us to do a particular work in a particular field. It forces the person to cross the barriers and achieve something great. It also boost the confidence of a person as our brain consider people’s opinion and makes them priority. Peer pressure also helps in marketing sector. Many salesman and entrepreneurs use this technique to influence people to buy product. Similarly peer pressure can also built the character of a person. The main advantage of peer pressure can be in youth, as we have seen many young person doing great after influence by a person.

DISADVANTAGES OF PEER PRESSURE

It can also harm the person in many ways. If you don’t want to do any task and if you are getting continuous pressure to do that work, then you become frustated. It also hamper students career and studies if they indulge in the bad company and they are so much influenced by them that they involved in habits like drug and smoking. These habits have adverse effects on their growth and career.

So, as we can see that peer pressure has both positive and negative effects, it is very important to think about the outcome of the deed before getting influenced by peers. Apart fron this always keep your thoughts at the priority and peer pressure should always be secondary. In this way we are able to take advantage of the positive effects of peer pressure and avoid negative effects.

How to improve your relationship with your partner?

A simple way to stay happy in a relationship is to continually improve the bond between you and your partner. The more efforts both of you make, the better your relationship would become. Now, you might think, why is it so essential to improving your relationship with your partner? The most important reason is to keep the passion and love between both of you intact. With time, many couples confess the attraction they felt for each other, to fade away. Hence, couples need to put in the effort to improve their relationships.

List of Ways to improve your relationship

  • Try to communicate with your partner:

The best way to strengthen your bond with your partner is to have a heart-to-heart interaction. With proper communication, you both would know about one other more, and there wouldn’t be any misunderstanding. Try to ask questions related to daily activities, and what new happened in your partner’s life. In this way, you both would end up having an interesting conversation.

  • Try to listen to what your partner has to say:

The most important key to a healthy relationship is the power of listening to the other person. Nowadays, we prefer to talk more, and win a conversation, rather than listening to what the other person has to say. You can try to listen to your partner and then make your point after they finish.

  • Try to understand your partner:

The relationship improves more when you put effort into understanding the situation of your partner. One way to understand the other person is to put oneself in their shoes and realize their condition. All you need to do is empathize with them, and support them through their tough times.

  • Try to appreciate your partner more:

We are so busy with ourselves that sometimes, we tend to forget all our partners’ efforts to make us happy. Though we are quick to pick out the flaws, we fail to appreciate their efforts. Now, this is extremely important to make your bond stronger. You should try to understand their actions and the efforts they make for us.

  • Try to be kind to your partner:

Don’t start an argument with your partner whenever you are unsatisfied with something related to them. Try to be polite and let your partner know where they went wrong.

  • Try to not argue often:

Anger is one of the many reasons behind the constant arguments you have with your partner. It is better to calm yourself, and then, proceed with a conversation, rather than arguing. If you feel angry, try to take a short walk alone or a long shower, and once you feel calm again, have a conversation with your partner.

It is essential to improve your relationship with your partner. Try to make more time for your partner, and surprise them with random visits, or bake them a cake sometimes. If you try, you both will become each other’s best friends, lovers, and partners in crime within no time. Love is a beautiful feeling, and it takes a lot of time and understanding to make a relationship successful. Don’t let ego, or anger, or misunderstandings ruin the relationship you have with your partner. You would see, even with time, your love for each other doesn’t fade away. Work together to live together for the rest of your life.
