Organ trafficking

Organ trafficking is a very big issue which the world is facing right now. It is a deadly crime which robs human beings of their healthy life. It is essentially an illegal business of human organs, tissues and body parts. They use them for transplantation. It is bringing down the human body to the worth of an object. They trade them off for a little money or some other commodities. There are various reasons why this happens greatly in all parts of the world.

Causes of Organ Trafficking

When we look at the problems people are facing in today’s world, a lack of organ donors is the main one. There are too many patients nowadays and too few volunteers. Thus, when the supply and demand do not match, crimes like these will rise.

Most importantly, poverty is a great cause of this. People who are in great debt or in need of money sell off their organs to get some temporary relief. They get very less amount than the actual worth. Furthermore, illiteracy is also a great cause. Those who are not educated are not aware of the consequences of selling their organs. They do not know the health hazards and are very vulnerable to this crime.

The children in war and developing regions are also very vulnerable to organ trafficking. When they get displaced from their homes, the traffickers make them easy targets. Furthermore, deceiving and dishonest medical firms and people also are a major cause. As organ transplant cannot be done without proper knowledge of it, people of the medical field who are corrupt contribute to it.

The lack of proper implementation of laws also contributes largely to this problem. As there are no stringent laws against this crime, the traffickers have no fear. Moreover, they also get off easy which makes it easy to commit this crime.

Impact of Organ Trafficking

Organ trafficking has a negative impact on society as a whole. The poor people get robbed off their good health due to this crime. The traffickers exploit them endlessly to make sure they do not betray them.

Moreover, kidnapping and human trafficking also happen due to this crime only. The traffickers abduct and traffic children into selling their organs. Some also murder them after their work is done to not leave any proof behind.

Organ trafficking also impacts the health of a person as well as their safety. The high demand for organs results in diseases and illnesses amongst people whose organs are trafficked. People also rob others so they can sell their organs. Even medical firms are losing their credibility because of such illegal practices.

Therefore, we need to eliminate this crime to protect people. The government must take strict measures and implement stringent laws against this crime. We must spread awareness about organ donation so people can donate their organs after death so the supply meets the demand. This will ensure no organ trafficking happens. Moreover, people must also be made aware of the dangers of organ trafficking so they can be better prepared and aware of the consequences.

T.V., mobiles , computers and the Suffering childhood

Photo by Jean van der Meulen on Pexels.com

Ever since the onset of the pandemic and the beginning of online classes, mobiles and computers have played a significant role in education and mobile, televisions and laptops are the source of entertainment to kids and relaxation to the parents. Since the advent and accessibility of technology to children, its ability to entice the mind of children has grown exponentially. Programs and advertisements meant specifically for kids , it increases the overall effect technology has on the mind of children.

Though the technology today is important for education, its negative effects on the minds and body of children plays a significant role. It affects the cognitive development of child’s mental faculties, and lowers their concentration level ,with them switching to various modes of entertainment in between their studies. t also , very severely might I add, degrades health and physicality of a growing child, caused due to increased exposure to radiations and lack of physical activities. Children are exposed to sensitive and violent content that later reflects in their behaviors. Children really are growing far quickly than their ages. All these reasons being mentioned, children are leading themselves to paths of self destruction. Online people are exposed to certain degrees of online harassments (eg.- phishing). Adults can protect themselves, having gained knowledge and awareness, but what about kids? We all agree as to how the presence of any digital device in close vicinity is more than enough to keep us up for hours. Grown up and all , this is our level of self restraint. So let us think about kids. Unsupervised, what restraint will those kids show?

The children have, due to years of access, grown a certain fondness over their gadgets as well as over those lethargic activities they call games . As a result, younger children are having issues with face-to-face social interactions. Many of them (well, even us adults sometimes) seem to prefer to text or talk on social media as opposed to talking to each other in-person. Even when children spend time together, they may spend more time texting or on their phones than actually being together, engaging in group activities and games. Well, group activities now refer to chat rooms and online games.

Though, we can’t disagree, the important role technology has in the overall development of a child’s personality. Access to world class education, unlimited resources and that too without any geographic or economic barrier (well, not not any but definitely reduced barriers). But it is important that it is carefully regulated, especially for the children in the teen or pre-teen age group.

WHY IS SOCIETY SCARED OF CONFIDENT WOMEN?

INTRODUCTION

Men often consider workplaces like offices and positions of power as their original territory. But unfortunately, a woman walking down the same corridor seems really hurting. Maybe, the patriarchal society does not dare to accept a woman’s success. Society has sadly conditioned men to see women as inferior. Society has suppressed women for the longest time. Men have gotten so used to seeing women as the weaker sex that they cannot see them prosper. The story does not belong to the present day. Society is writing it since ancient times. A legitimate example would be the terror in the hearts of men on seeing Razia Sultan’s regime.

CONSTANT FEAR OF SUCCESSFUL WOMEN

A woman with a solid and confident personality strikes terror in the hearts of men for no fault of hers. Suppose a woman questions a decision or expresses her point strongly. In that case, she is instantly stereotyped as a devil for violating the conventional code of conduct. As a retaliation, men usually title strong women as challenging to work with or get along or tough to handle. This is the most common solution men use when they cannot accept a confident and booming woman. The frustration is so deep that they even derogate the assumption that the woman must have done sexual favors to impress her boss.

The issue is not that superficial as it may seem to be. Instead, it is something much deeper rooted. More than a mere stereotypical gender face-off, it brings out the fickle-mindedness of society.  For long years the community has conditioned men to see themselves as superior and women tolerant of it. The television and film industry is the trendsetter for the country. But unfortunately, in the majority of cases, successful and confident working women are often portrayed as mean, cold-hearted, or harsh. If a man is career-driven, then he is praised for his determination. But if a woman does the same, she’s seen as selfish or irresponsible towards her family. Successful working women are rarely portrayed as affectionate mothers or wives. This brings out a bizarre assumption that a career deteriorates motherhood in a woman.

WHY ARE WE SO INSECURE?

Insecure people do pull down everyone, but when this pulling down does a gender bias, things get ugly. The whole proposition takes a dramatic turn because men often see it as a role reversal. They often look at this role reversal as a threat to their masculinity. Since the earliest times, a man is seen as the breadwinner for the family. This label further cements their superiority over women. This is because it is a certification of the fact that women are dependent upon men. In such a scenario, when women break their cocoons and move out, it scares men to the core. Men are in constant fear of losing their supposed superiority over women. Men cannot accept that women can break their shackles and be on an equal footing to them.

POSITION OF THE SOCIETY

This fear of losing power is so deeply rooted that it is visible even between a husband and a wife. If a wife starts earning equal to or more than her husband, she often hurts her husband’s ego and falls prey to numerous taunts. But this does not mean that only men are at fault, the society has an equal contribution. Very conveniently, society says that behind every successful man, there is a woman. Still, it cannot believe the vice versa. Community respectfully uses the term “working women” for females when they move out of their homes. But it mockingly uses the phrase “house husband” when a husband takes care of the household. This clearly highlights that despite shouting about equality at the rooftops, society is still uncomfortable for it at heart.

THE FINAL THOUGHT

Not liking a woman just because she is successful or confident brings out society’s own insecurities. If a husband supports his wife the same way his wife helps him, things will improve. It is certainly wrong to stereotype that all men are afraid of confident women. Husbands have started supporting their wives to fulfill their dreams. This precious support is unclipping their wings.

Men have begun respecting women at top management levels.  The traditional rigid roles of men being the protector provider and women being dependent ought to be challenged. Masculinity is no certificate of superiority. Equality comes where we judge a person on his merit and not his gender. Gender bias is certainly corrosive to society and progress as well. There is nothing wrong with healthy competition. In fact, it actually brings out the best in a person and helps him to flourish. But when this competition is a pure consequence of the power play between sexes, it does become problematic.

#MediChain- USING BLOCKCHAIN IN MEDICINE

INTRODUCTION TO THE IDEA

“Healthcare is yet to be transformed by technology.” The renowned American businessman, Joshua Koshner has very rightly given this statement. Developed countries like the USA plan to spend 20% of their GDP on healthcare in future. The Healthcare industry spends jarring costs due to data breaches and inefficient practices in data management. In this case, Blockchain comes to the rescue. It can certainly pop this spending bubble with great ease.

WHAT IS BLOCKCHAIN?

Blockchain is an immutable, decentralised form of database that stores information. As the name suggests, it is a chain or a series of blocks that store data like the date, time and amount of transactions. There are various types of blockchains like public, private and permissioned. A public blockchain allows anyone to contribute to the network. Hence public blockchains are both decentralised and democratic. Opposite to this, permissioned blockchains allow only verified participants to join the network. Private and permissioned blockchains are similar in function with one difference. The difference is that a particular organisation owns a Private blockchain.

The most important feature associated with blockchains is security. Each block within a blockchain contains a hash of the previous block. A hash is a cryptographic key. These keys are stored in the shared ledger. The keys are also connected by a mesh of nodes that join them. Each node contains a copy of the whole chain which is synchronised and updated constantly. Therefore hashing makes it difficult to alter the blocks. Thus it ensures immutability. Moreover, incentivising miners ensures integrity as they disapprove malicious transactions. These mechanisms ensure the high security of data

HOW DO WE USE BLOCKCHAIN IN MEDICINE?

Blockchain has a wide range of applications in the field of medicine.

STORING PATIENT DATA

Blockchain can keep a decentralised, incorruptible and transparent log of patient data. Since the Blockchain would be private, it would store the sensitive data safely with complex codes involved in it. Decentralisation of data would also allow patients and faculty to access the information, saving the time involved therein. Therefore, Blockchain can create a constantly updated single ledger of health records for rapid transfer by authorised parties.

SECURE DATA STORAGE

The safety and security of patient data have prime importance. Over 176 million patient records were leaked due to data breaches between 2009 and 2017. Important details like health and genomic testing records were stolen. In such a case blockchain provides safety of data through its security features. Each individual can have a private key that would unlock data only when required. Thence, blockchain can store data safely and securely.

SEAMLESS SHARING DATA TRANSFER

The data stored on the blockchain can be readily shared with healthcare providers. This can be done through a shareable private key. Hence blockchain can easily eliminate the time wasted in sharing information with health care providers. It would ensure speedy treatment without time lag. Therefore, Blockchain would improve Health Information Technology (HIT).

PREVENT INEFFICACIES

Surprisingly, a whopping amount of $11 billion is wasted annually due to inefficiencies in data management. The processes involved in obtaining data access related to medical records are very time-consuming. These processes not only exhaust the staff resources involved but also lead to delays in inpatient care. Decentralisation of medical records helps save the time wasted in providing data access to faculties. This way Blockchain would facilitate faster diagnosis and treatment.

SUPPLY CHAIN TRACEABILITY

Decentralisation has serious implications in terms of supply chain traceability. It ensures full transparent supply chain management. Patients can get appropriate answers to concerns related to the supply chain. The ledger once created, can record data at every step of the shipping journey. It would record important details like the information about the supplier.

TRACKING DISEASE OUTBREAKS

Blockchain can help in real-time disease reporting. It would also facilitate the recognition of disease patterns. This can in turn help in identifying transmission parameters.

SAFETY OF GENOMICS

In 2001, the cost to process a human genome was $1 billion. But today, it is just $1000. Hence, the ability of genomics to improve health has certainly become a financial and scientific reality. But these days genomics data theft has become a serious issue. A large number of companies bring individual DNA sequencing. Therefore the security of genomics data is a serious concern. Blockchain provides a potential solution to this. It can provide an online market, where scientists can buy encrypted data for research purposes. This would also eliminate the middlemen and time involved in the purpose earlier. So, blockchain is a perfect fit for this purpose as it can store precious genomics data safely.

A GLANCE AT SOME SUCCESS STORIES

Blockchain in healthcare is certainly not an unexplored arena. Several platforms have already reaped the benefits of blockchain and others are planning to do so. BurstIQ is a platform that helps companies manage patient data safely and securely. Factom has employed blockchain technology to store digital health records safely. Factom also received a grant of $200000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to integrate data from Border Patrol cameras and sensors. MedicalChain maintains a record of the origin and patient identity. In May 2018 MedicalChain launched a telemedicine platform to consult doctors via video call. Guardtime which is located in California helps healthcare companies to implement blockchain technology in their operations. The company uses blockchain for cybersecurity applications. Robomed has combined AI and blockchain to offer patients better treatment. The company also uses chatbots to collect patient information and share it with the medical team. The Taipei Medical University has recently implemented blockchain technology including Robomed’s network. This was done to store and secure medical records more easily.

Most importantly, the government agency, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) uses blockchain to monitor diseases and report outbreaks. Additionally, IBM is working with CDC to develop a blockchain-based surveillance system. Subsequently, this would also help public health agencies to collect patient data effectively.

THE FINAL THOUGHT

Developed countries spend a good share of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in healthcare. The U.S government plans to spend 20% of its GDP on healthcare soon. Hospital costs are whopping and inefficient practices in data management further aggravate the. Blockchain can reduce these costs substantially. Estonia has been an initiative taker in this regard. It began harnessing the benefits of blockchain technology in healthcare in 2012. Today almost all of the healthcare billing in the country is processed through blockchain.  Almost 95% of patient data is ledger-based while 99% of prescription data is digital.

Today, blockchain is used in various fields like education, finance and data management. Blockchain has a wide variety of applications in healthcare. It facilitates the secure transfer of patient medical records, supply chain, management and handling of genetic code. Inculcating blockchain technology can improve the efficacy of operations in health care. Currently, we are in the initial phase of using blockchain. Therefore, we need extensive research in this field. We also need pilot surveys to understand the efficacy and limitations of the technology. Blockchain will not only reduce costs but would also improve the safety and security of data.

The significance of innovations is indispensable. Also, change is the only constant. Therefore, encouraging innovations and accepting changes is the need of the hour.

Custody of Children to Grandparents

Custody is included within the notion of Guardianship, and it happens as a result of the parents’ divorce. Divorce may be harmful to both parents and children, and children are often subjected to significant emotional trauma as a result of their parents’ divorce. The question of custody comes after the divorce is finalised, and it is a pertinent subject that must be resolved by the court. Custody refers to the privilege granted by the court to either of the parents in favour of the kid who is under the age of eighteen. The parent who is given the custodial right has to look after the financial, emotional, medical, and all other necessary needs of the child.

Custody of Children to Grandparents

Types of Custody in India

Physical Custody-

The kid will be under the guardianship of one of the parents in this custody, and the other parent will have the ability to visit the child from time to time. This is the most common type of custody, and it ensures that the kid receives all of the advantages of the family as well as the finest possible upbringing. Both parents’ love and devotion are intended for the kid.

Joint Custody-

In this custody, both parents are allowed the right to keep their kid with them, but only in turn. Joint custody is one of the greatest alternatives to the post-divorce custody struggle. No parent feels deprived under this custody arrangement since both parents have the opportunity to be with the kid and have a major role in their upbringing. The major advantage of this custody arrangement is that the kid receives the love, care, and attention of both parents equally, and both parents have the right to make decisions about the child’s future.

Third-Party Custody-

In this custody, neither of the parents gets the custodial right. This is because the court believes that both parents are incapable of parenting a child and that granting the child’s rights to any of them would be detrimental to the child. In such cases, a third party is appointed and the custody of the child is given in his favor for the benefit of the child. This is mainly done in cases when both the parents re-marry after divorce then the custody of the child is given to grandparents.

Sole Custody-

In this case, the custody of the child is given to either mother or father and the other parent has no right over the child. This is usually done because of the abusive or immoral nature of the non-custodial parent. Under such cases, the court passes an order that non-custodian parents will not be granted the right to visit or meet the child once in a while.

Custody of Children to Grandparents

In some circumstances, the court may give grandparents custody of the kid. When giving custody of a child, the court takes various factors into account. The minor’s well-being takes precedence over a specific party’s legal rights. If the youngster is mature enough to choose who he wants to live with, the court will take it into account while deciding on final custody. The court must consider the following Acid test while determining custodial rights:

  • Education, health, and maintenance of the child are the relevant factors while determining the custody of the child.
  • The priority of the custody of the child is given to their biological parents. However, if they do not promote the welfare of the child, custody can be granted to the grandparents.
  • Financial stability cannot be the sole ground for deciding the custody of the child, the welfare of the child is of paramount consideration.
  • The child’s moral and ethical well-being, as well as its bodily well-being, must be considered by the Court.
  • Love of the parents towards their children cannot be a ground for deciding the custody in their favor.
  • The physical and mental conditions of the parents along with their professional life are taken into consideration while deciding the custody. In such cases in which both the parents are professionally working and are not able to look after the child properly, custody will be granted to the grandparents.
  • The wish of the child with whom he/she wants to stay is of utmost importance while deciding the custody.
  • The ‘character’ of the proposed guardian is one of the issues that must be examined by a court of law.
  • When dealing with custody disputes, a court is not bound by legislation, rigorous standards of evidence or process, or precedents. When choosing a competent guardian for a minor, the most important factor should be the child’s welfare and well-being.
  • Custody disputes cannot be determined only based on papers, oral evidence, or precedents; the human touch is the most important factor for the minor’s wellbeing, since the other materials may be generated by the parties themselves or on the advice of counsel to fit their needs.

In Jai Prakash Khadria v. Shyan Sunder Agarwalla and Anr, the appellant was the child’s maternal grandfather, while the respondent was the child’s paternal grandparents. Because the kid’s school was close to their house, the court gave paternal grandparents custody of the youngster. The paternal grandpa became overly close to the youngster and gave all of his property to him. The court also argued that because the maternal grandfather was living alone and there was no one at his house to care for the kid, custody would be given to the paternal grandparents.

Conclusion

Child custody is one of the most sensitive and difficult problems that arises following a parent’s divorce. Custody of the kid is always granted to the person considered by the court to be the best alternative for the child. The welfare of the children is the most important consideration when determining custody. Courts will award custody of the kid to the party who can demonstrate that the child’s best interests are served by them. In some instances, if the court deems it appropriate, custody of the children might be assigned to grandparents.

Importance of YOGA in Daily life

Over the last few decades, there has been an upsurge in the prevalence of yoga. Medical professionals and celebrities are also adopting and recommending the regular practice of yoga due its various benefits. While some regard yoga as simply one more prevailing fashion and associate it with the new age mysticism, others vouch for how astonishing this form of exercise feels. What they don’t understand is that what they see as simply just another form of exercise will profit them in ways they never envisioned.

Before we get into the benefits of Yoga, it is essential to understand what exactly Yoga really is. Yoga is not a religion, it’s a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body. Man is a physical, mental and spiritual being; Yoga helps in developing the balance between all the three as stated in Ayurveda in India. Other forms of exercise, like aerobics, only assure physical wellbeing. These exercises have very little to do with the improvement of spiritual or astral body.

Yoga is not just about bending or twisting the body and holding the breath. It is a technique to bring you into a state where you see and experience reality simply the way it is. If you enable your energies to become exuberant and ecstatic, your sensory body expands. This enables you to experience the whole universe as a part of yourself, making everything one, this is the union that yoga creates.

The founder of Yoga, Patanjali stated, “Sthiram sukham asanam.” It implies that a posture that appears to be firm and agreeable is your asana. You may be astounded to know that an asana is just a preliminary step into the act of yoga. It is a way that encourages you to achieve the greater good. Yoga focusses on idealizing concordance between your mind, body, and soul. When you adjust yourself so everything functions brilliantly within you, you will draw out the best of your capabilities.

Importance of Yoga

The perfect unison can be achieved through Hatha Yoga and its various branches (Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Yin Yoga, Kundalini Yoga), depending on what you like and the problems you are looking to tackle through the practice.

Some of the Advantages of Yoga are as follows:
Improves brain function
Lower stress levels
Alters gene expression
Increases flexibility

The breathing and meditation enables you disengage from your thoughts. This helps you calm down. With everyday yoga practice, you will notice how the calmness is no longer just a part of your practice – it becomes a way of life!
Yoga transforms your life and broadens your horizons in ways you can never imagine. It is absolutely worth trying!

Blood and different blood groups in humans

Blood is a red coloured fluid flowing through the heart and blood vessels.it is also sometimes called as river of life because it circulates all the essential nutrients and oxygen to our body.it is made up of liquid part plasma( water and salts) and solid part( RBC and platelets).blood is pumped by heart to our whole body. Blood is a component of circulatory system of our body.

Structure of blood

Blood is formed mainly of two components that are Plasma and blood cells .plasma is a pale yellow fluid part of our blood .it is about 55 % of our blood composition. Blood cells is also called blood corpuscles. they constitutes about 45% of blood. it is of 3 types that is RBC ( Red blood cells) or erythrocytes , WBC(White blood cells) or leucocytes and blood platelets or thrombocytes.

Some Characteristics of blood

  • Blood is heavier and thicker than water
  • its pH lies between 7.3 to 7.4.
  • Blood’s volume in our body is about 5 to 6 litres.
  • It is saltish in tastes

Functions of blood:-

  1. Transportation of gases : The blood carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and carbon dioxide from tissues to the lungs.
  2. Transport of food :- It carries digested food like amino acid , glucose and many other s from our intestine to different organs of the body.
  3. Temperature regulation :-It absorbs heat produced by respiration in internal tissues and transport it in to the skin and lungs for dissipation.
  4. Distribution of hormones :- The endocrine glands secrete hormones directly into the blood . Blood helps to transport them in required organs.
  5. Defence against diseases :- It produces certain antibodies which fights against bacteria. white blood cell (WBC) covers the disease causing bacteria and protect the body.

Blood groups in humans

Karl Landsteiner discovered that human beings have glycoproteins on the surface of RBC called antigens. and globulin proteins in the blood plasma called antibodies. therefore, there is 2 types of antigens A and B and two types of antibodies antibody a and antibody b in our body. Based on this concept , there are 4 types of blood groups found in human body.

  1. ABO blood groups
  • person with antigen A are said to be having blood group A.
  • person with antigen B are said to be having blood group B.
  • persons having both antigen A and antigen B are said to be having blood group AB.
  • Person with no antigen is said to be having blood group O.
    • during blood transfusion , we cannot mix two different types of blood group in a body. when blood groups of 2 different types of groups A and B is mixed , clumping reaction occurs. because either the antibodies of recipient ‘s blood destroys the RBC of donor blood or vice versa.

Person with blood group A are called universal donor , because they can donate blood to any of the blood group. while person with blood group AB are called universal recipients because they have no antibodies and can receive blood from any of the blood group.

2.Rh factor ( Rhesus antigen system) : – Human blood also have Rh antigen . it is of two types Rh positive and Rh negative. Transfusion of Rh negative with Rh negative can be done with no problem and same goes for Rh positive to R h positive transfusion.( Source : Veer Bala Rastogi , 96).

Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. And these benefits don’t end when your meditation session ends. Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day and may help you manage symptoms of certain medical conditions. Meditation might also be useful if you have a medical condition, especially one that may be worsened by stress.

While a growing body of scientific research supports the health benefits of meditation, some researchers believe it’s not yet possible to draw conclusions about the possible benefits of meditation. With that in mind, some research suggests that meditation may help people manage symptoms of conditions such as: anxiety, asthma , cancer ,chronic pain , depression, high blood pressure , sleep problems , tension headaches , etc. Don’t let the thought of meditating the “right” way add to your stress. If you choose to, you can attend special meditation centers or group classes led by trained instructors. But you can also practice meditation easily on your own. And you can make meditation as formal or informal as you like, however it suits your lifestyle and situation. Some people build meditation into their daily routine. For example, they may start and end each day with an hour of meditation. But all you really need is a few minutes of quality time for meditation.

As we always says , ” its not the quantity but the quality that matters . Hence you should spend the quality time doing mediation , & give you body a boost instead of stress .

Caring for the motherland

Independence day is celebrated as a festival in India and why not! It marks the day when our nation finally got freedom from the trap of the British empire and established its own identity by laying down its own constitution later on. Our great freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation’s pride and freedom, leaving a message for all of us to take care and develop our newly independent nation. So it becomes our duty to protect the motherland and respect it. But, did we succeed in doing so? Did we bring justice to the sacrifice made by our leaders during the fight for freedom? Till now we have developed good infrastructure and made a global presence in various fields but still we lack many more things that require immediate attention.

The first and foremost is health and hygiene which is very important for us. Health of the citizens is being compromised against work. Be it the rich or the poor, all face health issues in one or the other way. During the British rule, the citizens were forced to act in accordance with their norms and health was barely taken care of. Similar is being observed now. The workers as well as non-workers(unemployed) suffer health problems either due to scarcity of resources or discrimination. This not only talks about food but other such factors that define good mental and physical health of people. The low-level workers don’t get enough pay and those who get, don’t find time for mental peace; their work load is big. There are a number of unemployed as well who suffer mentally for not getting ideal work/job. These cases are the most often and hence, call for support both physically and mentally.

The poor people who do not have any job, look for maximum they could get from the minimal they afford. They are on high risk when it comes to good health since they try to arrange food for themselves and their family without caring for their health, by working at places full of risks like factories, without using proper equipment. They can’t afford protection equipment for themselves and hence work manually, be it garbage picking or other such works. Their families are often seen living on the footpaths or near the garbage sites, risking their lives. Such children get affected by malnutrition due to shortage of resources with them thereby increasing chances of bad health and hygiene in their upcoming generations as well.

This needs to be sort out for the sake of growth of the whole country. Existence of poverty restricts the development of the nation. There is a need for creation of jobs for the unemployed population since we all are human resource which are very useful for a nation and should not be wasted off.

Having mentioned about garbage, it is a serious problem requiring immediate action. There are hardly any local streets which are completely garbage free. The garbage attracts many diseases which is not in favour of anyone.

People still use plastics knowing how hazardous it is as a waste. The pollution it creates has effects on our health. People call destruction for themselves by cutting down trees and generating more waste side by side. It affects all living creatures in one or the other way. Proper disposal is not followed and it takes years for such garbage to settle down and get converted to minerals in the soil. There are ways developed to cope with the problem but none seems ready to take them up. People should try to minimise the waste they create and use resources efficiently.

“Every drop counts”. Water is used extensively by those who can afford it without caring for the needs of the future generations. This behaviour has led to scarcity and unequal distribution among the population. Water is a necessity and hence everyone has the right to access. There has been a huge depletion in availability of water over the globe and we all know Life will not exist without it. Still people are not realising or following steps necessary to save water.

Our future depends on how we act today. Real growth and development is seen in how well managed are we. These problems show that we still lack much more than achieved. It is not the buildings and roads that define us but the humans residing there and cleanliness followed will show our development. Focus should be on the management of resources in an efficient way and being united for a good cause. This can only be done by supporting each other and caring for the nation.

WHAT IS COCONUT WATER ?

Naturally occurring , coconut water has a sweet & nutty taste . Many people ask this question , how coconut is filled with water . Let me give you an answer of this , As the fresh water assimilated by the roots is conveyed right up to the crowns of the coconut palms through osmosis process, any dissolved salts which exist in the subterranean water automatically get eliminated through this natural filtration. Fresh water that gets accumulated in coconut is actually ‘endosperm’ or the food or nourishment for the coconut’s growth. Coconut water contains easily digested carbohydrates in the form of sugar and electrolytes. Not to be confused with high-fat coconut milk or oil, coconut water is a clear liquid in the fruit’s center that is tapped from young, green coconuts.

Professional tennis player John Isner credits coconut water with keeping him on his feet for his epic 11-hour marathon Wimbledon tennis win. “It is super hydrating and has kept me going in long matches and prevented me from cramping even in the hottest and most humid conditions,” he says. He drinks the mixture of coconut water & water before the night of the match & this helps him to get hydrated all day long in that match .

Sports nutritionist Nancy Clark, author of Nancy Clark’s Sports Nutrition Guidebook, says coconut water won’t rehydrate the body unless you can drink plenty of it. If you enjoy the taste and can tolerate large amounts, it could help keep you hydrated.

A 2007 study shows coconut water enhanced with sodium was as good as drinking a commercial sports drink for post-exercise rehydration with better fluid tolerance. Another study reported that coconut water caused less nausea, fullness, and stomach upset and was easier to consume in large amounts during rehydration. It is naturally occurring drink which will keep you hydrated all day long . In a study conducted, coconut water prevented crystals from sticking to the kidneys and other parts of the urinary tract. It also reduces the number of crystals formed in the urine. Researchers believe that coconut water helped reduce the production of free radicals that occurred in response to high oxalate levels in the urine. From nausea to kidney stones , coconut water has worked as a remedy for most of the health issues , so what are you waiting for ? Go and buy a coconut & enjoy the mother nature’s Sports drink .

Letting Go

Romeo and Juliet is probably one of the best known pieces of fiction in the world. Two lovers separated by family differences find each other only after death makes them meet in the world beyond.

What Are the Real Origins of Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet?” | by Julia Rose Harmon | The Smartie Newsletter | Medium

Now, it is a very philosophical way of saying, but in life, sometimes, one must know how to give up. Giving up is not the part where one never tries but the part where one realizes that he or she or they are done trying – to their best. And it is not a sign of cowardice but a very healthy exercise when giving up is accompanied by letting go.

The American star Olympian Simone Biles announced her early return from the Tokyo Olympics citing mental health reasons, the most decorated Gymnast of all time was clearly being braver and more conscious of herself than the way in which many conservatives in her country tried to portray her. She knew that she could not perform if she could not keep calm and that would only make it worse for her – deep in her head. Let us not forget that she holds 32 medals combining World championships and Olympics. In the 2016 Olympics, she singlehandedly won 3 gold and 1 bronze medals and another gold medal in teams event. She, by no means lacks the resources to be the champion. But she understood her mind.

Biles smiling and waving

The process is difficult. One might argue that giving up is like admitting defeat. Admitting defeat in the face of a certain defeat is honesty! And although your mind requires some straining, it is up to you to decide to what extent can you strain the same.

Next time, when you are giving your best and after several attempts, it seems futile to continue, give it a thought. Should you or should you not continue.

Don’t Judge a Book By It’s Cover

Why we all always give more importance to our looks, is it really that important? is someone’s appearance is more important than his or her actual nature?

Why does people judge someone by their looks and come up with an conclusion based on someone’s external appearance without even knowing them. People forgot that the “appearance can be deceptive”.
If someone is comfortable with simple cloths and no make-up look, if he or she love to live that way then why others are so curious about that. It doesn’t matter that, what we wear or how we look it is not gonna affect our talent anyways.
Take of the mask and face yourself, looks or appearance can’t hide your true nature for longer. Remember we were born to be real not to be perfect, be yourself even if you live for a day.

Appearance valued to much in our society and on every point people will judge you based on your appearance but, don’t give many thoughts thinking what others will say, if I wore this or if I look like this, what will others say, peoples will gonna talk behind your back no matter what you do, how you look, they gonna criticize you all the time, just live on your own way it’s your anyways and remember only one thing that, “kuch toh log kahenge, logonka kam hai kehna, chodo bekar ki baton main kahin beet na jaye raina” and keep going.

No matter who you are, how you look, your skin colour, your appearance it doesn’t matter, being beautiful has nothing to do with your outer looks or appearance, it’s about your nature, your character and how you treat others. Everyone sees what you appear on outside, but they don’t know that a person becomes more attractive not by their looks but by their act of kindness, love, respect, honesty and loyalty they show. They will judge you but after knowing your kind nature they can’t stop themselves from loving you. Always remember that the appearance for small time but your nature is for lifetime.

Sometimes we come across some people who love to live simple, who don’t give more importance to their outer look but their inner beauty emerges only when we converse with them and get to know them better.

Judging a person does not define who they are, also your self confidence didn’t come from your appearance, certainly not your appearance!!

Let’s learn not to judge a book by it’s cover and let’s try to understand and know someone based on their inner beauty not on their appearance because APPERANCE CAN BE DECEPTIVE.

Terrorism

Terrorism is a criminal act that seeks to instil terror in ordinary people. It is a danger to mankind. It covers anybody or any organisation who spreads violence, such as riots, burglaries, rapes, kidnappings, fights, bombs, and so on. Terrorism is a cowardly act. Terrorism is also unrelated to religion. A terrorist is a terrorist, regardless of whether he or she is Hindu or Muslim.

Types of Terrorism

Terrorism is classified into two types: political terrorism, which causes widespread alarm, and criminal terrorism, which involves abduction for ransom money. Political terrorism is even more dangerous than criminal terrorism since it is carried out by well-trained individuals. As a result, it becomes difficult for law enforcement organisations to apprehend them in a timely manner.

Terrorism spreads at both the national and international levels. Regional terrorism is the most violent type of terrorism. Because terrorists believe that dying as a terrorist is precious and holy, they are prepared to go to any length. All of these terrorist organisations are formed for a variety of reasons.

Causes of Terrorism

There are several major causes of terrorism, including rapid population growth, politics, social and economic problems, dissatisfaction with the country’s system, a lack of education, corruption, racism, economic inequality, and linguistic differences. Terrorism is used as a weapon to show and justify one’s point of view. The most well-known riots are those between Hindus and Muslims, although there is a distinction between caste and terrorism.

The Effects Of Terrorism

Terrorism instils fear in individuals, and as a result, people in the country feel insecure. Terrorist attacks damage millions of products, take the lives of thousands of innocent people, and slaughter animals. After witnessing a terrorist attack, disbelief in mankind grows, giving rise to another terrorist. There are several forms of terrorism in various areas of the country and throughout the world.

Today, terrorism is not just a concern in India, but also in our neighbouring nation, and governments all over the world are working hard to combat it. The September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center is widely regarded as the world’s biggest. Osama bin Laden attacked the world’s tallest skyscraper, resulting in millions of injuries and the deaths of thousands of people.

Terrorist Attacks in India

Agencies fighting Terrorism in India

To combat terrorism in India, many police, intelligence, and military institutions have created specific agencies. In India, major anti-terrorism agencies include the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Conclusion

Terrorism has evolved into a worldwide concern that must be addressed at the outset. Terrorism cannot be handled only by law enforcement forces. People all across the world will need to band together to combat the rising menace of terrorism.

5 alarming signs that you might not be doing okay

How to Cope With Anxiety and Depression | Everyday Health

I wake up everyday wishing,
my eyebags to not be heavier than my emotional baggage
and my room to not be messier,
than the thoughts inside my head
is this something that everyone
wishes for at my age?
or is it just me?
who stares at the ceiling every night
while lying on her bed
why does only the night sky see me cry?
why do my shadows just show up in daylight and not at night,
when I’m ready to embrace them all?
why my secrets, darker than the sky, seem deeper than the silence the night holds.
the silence comforts sometimes,
but sometimes it just creeps straight into every vein in my body,
I never wished for much,
but my thoughts to not be louder,
than the silence the night holds

You know those feelings of general discontent, sadness, and hopelessness? If you have them, don’t ignore them. They could be signs of something much worse, like depression. Let’s check out the signs-

1. You feel fatigue and don’t sleep (or sleep too much).

Depression strips you of your energy and makes you feel lethargic. You stop doing things you enjoy because you feel exhausted, and begin sleeping excessively, or not sleeping at all (insomnia).

2. Your emotions are all over the place.

One moment, you’re feeling irritable and going off on someone in a full display of anger. The next, you’re crying. Depression can swing your moods uncontrollably.

3. Your topics of conversation have turned morbid.

Suicides rarely come without the symptoms that show up beforehand. Depressed people will often talk about it. If you’re in the company of a good friend who has flipped the morbid switch to “on” and is now talking about death and dying, stay close and monitor him. He may be on the doorstep of a suicide attempt.

4. Your outlook on life has done a 180.

Having a hopeless outlook on life is the most common symptom of depression. Associated feelings of worthlessness, self-hate, or inappropriate guilt may ride shotgun. You vocalize thoughts like “It’s all my fault,” and “What’s the point?”

5. You’ve lost interest in the things you enjoy.

Depression can rob you of the things you love, making you withdrawing from the very activities you once looked forward to — sports, socializing with friends, hobbies, etc.

What to do…

If depression has crept in, don’t despair. With professional help and a strong support system of loving family and friends, you can overcome it. Here’s what you can do:

  • Please sleep. Don’t set the alarm. Just sleep until you wake up.
  • Do not isolate yourself—find community and support.
  • Don’t internalize your feelings. Be totally present with them.
  • Express gratitude.
  • Journal your feelings daily to help release those negative emotions.
  • Lean on your faith, or something greater than you.
  • Rediscover the activities and hobbies that bring you peace, joy, and vitality.
  • Exercise daily. Fifteen minutes of cardio is all it takes.
  • Practice mindfulness.
